Haunted Duke’s Daughter C111

“Let me get back to the point.”

I return my gaze at Alisa’s voice. Alisa pretends to think for a moment before continuing.

“I am saying this because I have already been disappointed in Lilia once. I am sure that you and Tina will be able to understand each other.”

Hearing that she had evaluated me in the same way as Tina, Alisa’s words have a ring of truth to them. That does not make me optimistic, but it does lighten my heart a little. Perhaps sensing this from my expression, Alisa smiled with satisfaction.

“Please don’t think too much. If you need anything, I, of course, and Cynthia, will cooperate with you.”

I was happy to hear that, but at the same time I remembered something.

“What’s wrong with Cynthia?”

“What? Oh, um……”

I wonder if something is wrong. When my eyes narrowed, Alisa said in a panic.

“It’s not like there was anything dangerous going on! It’s just that Cynthia’s family seems to be taking her somewhere under the guise of making her a spy who won’t embarrass Master Lilia…….”

“That’s……”

I would have liked to at least have a word with her, but that would have been difficult since I was out of town. Still, I wonder what kind of guidance she is receiving.

“They know that Lilia-sama has returned, so I’m sure she’ll be back by the time we head to the academy.”

“Alisa, can you get me something sweet for later? We’ll eat together when Cynthia gets back.”

Alisa smiled happily and bowed in awe.

S–Yes, yes, yes. I don’t know if you can call them “subordinates,” but it’s important to work hard. I was a little touched that Lilia said it herself.

It is true that I would never have said that before. If I think that some things are changing naturally, I guess it means that the time I have spent up to now was not in vain. I don’t know if anyone other than Alisa and Cynthia would be able to respond in the same way.

S–I’m not sure if you can do the same for anyone other than Alisa and Cynthia, but that is enough for now.

Lilia replied to Sakura’s voice, “I hope so.”

When Alisa went shopping and returned a short time later, there was a knock at the door of Lilia’s room. When Alisa opened the door, it was Cynthia who was there.

“Alisa, is Lady Lilia back?”

Alisa takes a step to the side instead of answering. When her eyes met Lilia’s, Cynthia opened her mouth gaping, and then bowed her head in panic.

“Welcome back! Lady Lilia!”

“Yes. I’m home. Welcome back, Cynthia. It must have been hard.”

“What? No, no! I don’t think that’s true at all!”

Perhaps noticing that Lilia’s cheeks are slightly drawn, Alisa sighs and says,

“Cynthia, don’t embarrass Lilia-sama.”

“For now, come over here and sit down.”

As Lilia urged her to do so, Cynthia entered the room with an air of trepidation. With a nervous look on her face, she did as she was urged and sat down opposite Lilia. After she sat down, she realized that she was face-to-face with Lilia, and she looked like she was about to cry.

L–I think this girl’s family should do something about her personality before teaching her skills.

S–Well, personalities don’t change that easily. Lilia would know better.

L–Well, you know.

Alisa prepares tea and arranges three cut cakes. Lilia said while thinking that Cynthia, who still remained silent, was a bit of a pain in the ass.

“I had Alisa buy them for me.”

“I see.”

Before long, Cynthia’s mood had changed. Cynthia quickly took a bite of the cake that was placed before her and said to the puzzled Lilia and the others.

“It doesn’t seem to be poisonous.”

With a snap. Alisa stopped moving.

“That is to say, you suspect me of poisoning Lady Lilia, is that what you are trying to say……?”

Alisa smiles but her eyes are not smiling.

S–Lilia, I see a demon behind Alisa…is it my imagination?

L–I see them too. It’s quite interesting.

S–I’m surprised Lilia can call it interesting.

Cynthia’s face was pale, as if she was seeing the same thing as Lilia and the others. Where is the interesting atmosphere she had at work?

“I’m sorry, Alisa, it’s just a quirk, I didn’t mean to offend you, you know…….”

“It’s okay. I’m not angry.”

“You’re absolutely lying, I know you’re angry. I’m sorry!”

Lilia let out a giggle as she watched them make a small noise in front of her. Is she in such a terrible state that she would allow such a small play to take place?

S–Or maybe it wasn’t a little play, but a natural one.

L–I’d like to believe that’s not true.

Lilia tapped the table with her finger, and the two immediately closed their mouths and straightened their posture. She nodded and smiled in satisfaction at that.

“Shall we have some?”

Lilia said, and they nodded in relief.

The next day Lilia left the mansion in a carriage headed for the school. Alisa was riding with her and Cynthia was gone, since she went to the school ahead.

Incidentally, before getting on the carriage, she went to see the flower beds. Theo confidently showed her that many flowers were in full bloom.

When I praised him, Theo looked very happy, but he immediately bowed his head apologetically. According to him, Alisa had been taking care of them most of the time while Lilia was on her trip.

“I will try my best to not disappoint you when sister and Alisa come back!”

Theo had declared so.

As I was remembering this, before I knew it, the carriage had reached the front of the dormitory.

We dismounted from the carriage and headed for the third floor. As with the previous trip, the necessary luggage had already been carried yesterday, so Lilia had nothing in her hands. With Alisa in tow, she reached the third floor.

“Oh my.”
