As soon as I returned to my room, another maid came to visit me. It seemed that lunch was ready. My stomach gave a small rumble as I remembered that I hadn’t eaten yet.

S–You’re so cute.

L–Shut up.

Hiding my blushing face, I headed for the dining room.

The dining room of the villa is not as large as the main mansion, but it is still a room with a good amount of space. There was a long, narrow table in the room, and Tina and Ray were sitting in the corner. For some reason, Ray sat deep in his chair, slumped over.

“Why are you so tired?”

I asked, a little dumbfounded, to which Ray replied with a chuckle.

“I’ve been training with the two guards…….I’m a little tired…….”

“You’ve just arrived and you’re training already.”

Why can’t he just be quiet today? I think so, but I guess Ray is more interested in physical activity. If that’s the case, I won’t say anything.

“What was Tina doing?”

“Me? That…….I’ve been taking naps.”

“…….I think that’s good.”

“I feel like you’re really concerned about me…….?”

That’s not true, Lilia shook her head. Besides, Lilia would not be able to speak for others.

Soon, the maids brought in the food. After a brief prayer, Lilia and the others began to eat.

“Thanks for the food. I feel a little sick, so I’m going back to my room to rest.”

When Lilia said this while putting down the dishes, Tina and Ray rolled their eyes in disbelief.

I was a little uncomfortable with the idea that it was so unexpected, but I headed for the door of the dining room as if to escape.

“Lilia! Are you okay?”

Lilia replied to Tina’s shouted question with a wry smile.

“I’ll be fine after a night’s rest. Don’t worry about me.”

With a light wave, Lilia began to head back to her room. One of the maids followed Lilia as if in a panic, but Lilia waved her hand lightly as if it was unnecessary. She left the maid who had stopped and walked away.

L–Sakura. Is it going to take all night?

S–That’s not a very complimentary thing to say……Well, it doesn’t sound like you’re going to listen to me. I’ll probably be fine.

Lilia nodded in satisfaction.

After returning to her room, she changed her clothes and lay down on her bed.

When everyone was asleep, Lilia woke up. It seemed she had slept longer than expected but when she looked at her bedside, she saw that Tina had come and left a note.

S–“Get well soon”. An angel!

L–If she’s an angel, what am I supposed to be?

S–A demon.

L–You’ll anger this demon.

S–Ha-ha-ha. Sorry.

I get out of bed and look around the room. The sun had already gone down and it was pitch black.

Lilia went through her things and pulled out a piece of paper. It was a piece of paper with a magic circle drawn on it. It’s a simple magic circle, but it’s very useful, and Lilia loves to use it. She uses it mainly when she studies at night.

Normally, she would use several sheets of paper together or use a larger magic circle, but for now, this small size is enough.

I tapped the paper lightly, and the magic circle began to glow faintly. Nothing more happened.

This is a magic circle just for this purpose. When Lilia studies at night, she uses a larger version of this to light up the whole room.

The small one didn’t have much light, so it only glowed dimly. With it in her hand, Lilia went through more of her luggage. She took out a stack of blank papers and a pen, and quietly slipped out of the room.

S–It’s a good night out, isn’t it? I’ve never stayed up late before, so I’m getting a little excited.

L–I’m sorry, but I’m not going out.

S–I know, I know. I like this atmosphere. It’s like a haunted house!

Hearing this, Lilia stopped in her tracks. Sakura said with an amused laugh.

S–Lilia, are you afraid of ghosts by any chance?

L–I’m always talking to ghosts, how can I be afraid of them now?

S–I’m not a ghost, I’m an angel. Then what’s wrong?

L–I thought I heard a noise…….It was just my imagination, I guess.

I turned around and looked behind me, but with the light from the magic circle I had, I couldn’t see all the way to the back. I concluded that it was just my imagination and started walking again.

The room I arrived at was the study. I entered quietly and closed the door. There is a pile of papers on the desk, unchanged from when I came here around noon.

L—Sakura, can I ask you to teach me how to organize them?

S–I’m not all-powerful either. Are you sure you want to do it my way?

L–Yes. Of course.

S–Okay. Let’s start with…….

Following Sakura’s instructions, Lilia began to organize the documents.

Relying on the light from the magic circle, I rewrote the classified documents in a more legible manner. I piled up the documents in a corner of the room. It’s been three hours since I started this work, and I’m not even halfway done.

If I could just get this done, my brother would have less work to do. It would also shorten our stay here and allow us to get to Tina’s town a little faster. It’s not that Tina asked me to do it, but I want to let her see her family as soon as possible. For some reason, I had come to feel that way.

L–I am tired……..

S–You did take a nap, but that’s about it. Good luck.

Lilia smiled and went on with her work but she was beginning to feel tired, and she was aware that she was slower than at the beginning.

“I’d like some tea…….”

Lilia muttered to herself.

“Here you go.”

A cup of steaming water was placed on the desk. I thanked him as usual, and then looked at the man next to me. An elderly man in a butler’s uniform was standing there with a gentle smile on his face.

He is the only butler working in this villa. I’ve heard that he’s been serving the Aldis family since before I was born.

Seeing the butler’s face in her field of vision, Lilia let out a sigh of relief.

“I hope I didn’t startle you. I apologize.”

The butler bowed reverently. Lilia waved her hand lightly and sipped from her cup.
