“How long have you been aware of this?”

“From the beginning. I saw you leaving the room, so I followed you, even though I knew it was rude.”

“So it was you who made the noise.”

As she was about to return to her work, Lilia suddenly stopped and asked Sakura.

L–Sakura, you noticed it, didn’t you?

S–What are you talking about?

Lilia sighed at the sound of her fawning voice. It seemed that she had noticed that the butler was there after all. I wonder if there is a reason why she did not tell her.

“Speaking of which, aren’t you going to stop?”

I asked the butler and he answered with a smile.

“I have been ordered by Master Cross to tolerate whatever the young lady does in her study.”

“Yes.”

It seemed that my brother had been able to read my actions to some extent. I felt strangely embarrassed by this, and my cheeks naturally turned red. Fortunately, there was only a pale light now, so the butler probably didn’t see me.

S–You don’t have to be embarrassed.

L–You’re being annoying.

“But then you didn’t have to do it behind my back.”

“I’m the only one who received these instructions. I’m the only one who received these instructions, so I had to stop you from doing it in broad daylight.”

I thought that he would have informed all the maids, but maybe he had ordered this butler because he was the most trustworthy. No matter how much she thought about it, this was just a guess on Lilia’s part.

As she proceeded with her work unconcerned, the butler watching from the side nodded,

“Miss, may I help you?”

“I don’t mind, but……Do you know how to do this?”

“I learned from watching. Leave it to me.”

He’s been in the service of the Aldis family for many years, and he’s very good. Lilia sighed in admiration and nodded.

“I’d like to get some more light first. Excuse me.”

The butler took a large sheet of paper from a shelf in the corner. He spread it out on the floor, tapped it a few times, and soon the magic circle began to glow, brightening the room.

“By the way, what is the purpose of all this work? I don’t think you need to do this.”

“It will lessen the burden on my brother and make it easier for us to get out of here. I want to take Tina to see her parents as soon as possible.”

The butler was silent for a while, wondering what I was thinking. After a while, he said, “I see,” and his voice sounded vaguely happy.

“But, Miss. If that’s the case, why didn’t you just let Tina go home first?”

“I thought about it too, but I didn’t ask because I thought she might refuse.”

I’m guessing, but I don’t think I’m wrong.

“Hmm……..I guess we have to be friends to understand each other. I’ll help in a small way.”

The butler was working faster than me. This is the difference in experience, I suppose. There was no point in worrying about it, so I returned to my work.

When the landscape from the window started to turn white I finally finished all my work. When I put the papers back on the desk, the pile of papers had been reduced to less than half its original size. The papers that hadn’t been put together were piled up on the floor. I wouldn’t be able to throw them away until my brother checked them.

S–Good night, Lilia.

L–You too, Sakura. You could’ve rested, you know.

Lilia turned to the butler.

“Thank you for your help.”

When she said this to the butler, he smiled mildly and shook his head.

“I’ve learned a lot from you. I never knew how to put things together like that before. Who taught you that, young lady?”

How should she answer? Lilia thought for a moment, and said,

“My best friend.”

S–Yes…….

A dumbfounded voice came from Sakura. Lilia held back a smile.

L–What? You don’t like it?

S–I don’t hate it! Ehehe…….

Sakura laughs happily.

Lilia stood up. The butler’s eyes were on her, but she didn’t care and let out a big sigh.

I just couldn’t stand it, but I guess there’s no point in trying to fix it now in front of this butler. I stretched and said,

“I’m going to go back to my room and get some rest. Can you tell Tina and the others what to do?”

“I’ll just say you’re not feeling well yet.”

“I’m afraid I might worry them again, but okay.”

It was also true that she felt a little sick, probably from lack of sleep. Lilia left the study with a sigh.

The first thing she saw when she woke up was Tina’s worried face. When she opened her eyes and saw Lilia, Tina’s face broke into a happy smile.

“Lilia, how are you feeling? Are you okay?”

For a moment, I couldn’t understand what she was asking me. I immediately remembered what the butler must have told her, and regretted a little that I had worried her.

“Yes. I’m fine now. Thank you.”

I sat up and looked at the window. It was already light outside.

“What was Tina doing out here?”

“I was worried about Lilia, but I’m doing well in my studies!”

“I hope so.”

I glanced at the table and saw that there were indeed things that looked like study tools.

“By the way, Tina. Is it past lunchtime already?”

“Yes. I just ate a while ago. I’ll get something for you from the maids.”

After saying that, Tina ran out of the room. After seeing her off, she sighed and went to the table.

S–Wouldn’t it be better to sleep a little longer?

Lilia shook her head at Sakura’s voice.

L–If I go to sleep now, I won’t be able to sleep at night again.

When she said that, Sakura agreed.

L–But it’s still hard…..Let’s just stay in my room today.

S–Yeah, I’ll sing you a lullaby!

L–I wonder if you were listening to me.

Lilia’s cheeks relaxed slightly as she heard Sakura laugh.

That day, Lilia stayed in her room to study, and went to bed right after dinner.
