‘I made up such a fine excuse although I was so shocked.’

Ella remembered the day and smiled satisfyingly. “It is a merchant company I made to help the people up close when I become the crown princess one day.”

It was a lie that she made up in a flash, but the merchant company was planning to purchase life essentials and grains, so it seemed like a fitting reason. But maybe she needed a new excuse now since her merchant company was going to be transformed.

“We’ll talk more once we get to the merchant company. My appointment time is near, so I must hurry. Joanne, can you finish up quickly?”

“Yes, lady! I’ll be quick!”

After passing through Morde Street, where it was full of lavish boutiques, was Nonte Street. It looked a little dull with an actual merchant company’s offices and storage lined up. Unlike Morde Street where carriages of noble families busily moved about, Nonte street was full of heavily-loaded carriages and carts that were utility-focused and dull. It was quite a different look from the capital that Ella was used to.

People were certainly more different. There were people who looked rough enough that it was easy to see that they were laborers, and there were hired mercenaries to protect the merchant company’s goods.

Curiously, Ella looked outside as the world around her changed. That’s when Vylun’s dark horse came close to the carriage.

“It’s dangerous. Please close your window and stay inside.”

“Isn’t that why you and five other knights tagged along?”

Ella had claimed that he alone was enough as an escort, but that wasn’t an option considered by Vylun. He acted as if he really couldn’t hear her, so she had to move with this squad of knights with her in the end. With four more guards that weren’t visible, a total of 10 people were moving along to protect her.

Ranhee always had her manager, her stylist, and a secretary, which was a total of three or five people around her. However, moving with six muscular knights was a totally different story. It was too much. ‘I’m visiting my own merchant company. Is this really necessary?’

Ella began releasing her stress from this ordeal to Vylun. He then responded, “I understand, but the safest way is to prevent the danger ahead.”

However, his words blocked Ella from unleashing it. He was right. The danger had to be prevented. But the problem was her curiosity that didn’t want to listen to him.

“But if I look out through the window like this, you get to see me too. Isn’t that nice?”

Her stubbornness of wanting to see outside made her use Vylun’s feelings as a weapon. Interestingly enough, his stern face had a hint of a dilemma. He was thinking about it. Gosh. Ella became intrigued and looked at him. This stern knight soon realized his duty and shook away his greed.

“But I prefer your safety first.”

“Boo,” said Ella.

Her words this time didn’t work as well, so she began sulking, with her pouty lips, and closed the window. Vylun’s eyes widened. His mask, which he could barely manage to keep a cool expression on, crumbled, and his face began to turn red as he did at the party last night.

The knights who were following while keeping watch of the surroundings became shocked. Vylun noticed their reactions and tried to cool his face down by dry-rubbing his face with his hands, but it didn’t seem to cool down easily. The knights’ teasing eyes were stuck on him.

“He’s so stubborn! I was just taking a peek!” Ella was now stuck in the carriage, so she groaned about it for a while and became tired. It was such a waste to be groaning when the person who was responsible for the tantrum wasn’t around.

She couldn’t believe she did it for so long and laughed at herself, then got the documents from Smila, who was sitting next to her nervously. “Is this the document I asked you to find?”

“Yes, milady. As you said, I asked the magicians at the Tower of the Long Moonlight, and they kindly guided me to it. My, I never knew they were so kind. When I told them you were looking for it, they even found information that I didn’t even ask for.”
