“I’ve made up my mind. It’s now up to you to decide.”

He could stand beside or behind her if that’s what she wanted. Vylun truly thought that. Although it had been a day since they’d met, he was very serious. It was too much of a burden for Ella to take. During their conversation, the room became so silent that even a feather dropping would ring.

Vylun felt his heart becoming dull as Ella became stern in response to his words. He couldn’t stand his frustration and tapped the handle of his sword. It was his habit to do so whenever he felt irritated, but this time the sound of it rang louder than usual.

The women became frightened, and Vylun frowned. He turned to Ella in concern, but she was still deep in her thoughts. It was as if she didn’t hear the small noises that he had created. That made him feel even more nervous.

“You don’t have to decide now. You can take your time. No, you should take your time. I feel it would be better.”

Ella’s eyes then turned to him after he said those words. Vylun made a smile of relief while looking at her emerald eyes, which he finally got to see. Then, he asked, “So, where are we off to today?”

He signaled that he didn’t want to speak any longer on this issue. Ella felt the same way as she thought, ‘He doesn’t care even if I clearly draw the line. Building a wall won’t make any difference.’

Ella didn’t want to waste her energy on drawing lines. She had a lot to do with so little time. She had to leave now, so there was no time to waste talking to him. And even if she didn’t want to accept it, she needed Vylun.

‘And I don’t want the problem with Dayson on top of this.’ Dayson was outside of Ella’s control too. Just thinking about his eyes staring at her made her shiver. If she needed to use Vylun to get him off of her, she was willing to do so.

After deciding to take Vylun with her, Ella stated her destination. “I’m going to Nonte Street.”

“Any special items you are looking for? Isn’t it better to call a merchant here instead?”

Vylun asked about this unusual destination. It wasn’t normal for a noble lady to visit Nonte Street, where it was full of merchant company’s offices and their storage. If there were things needed, then it was common to message the merchant who specializes in such items. Then the merchant would bring over their goods to showcase them and sell them to the nobles.

“Are you trying to visit the Ruan Merchant Co.?”

The only reason to visit a merchant company was to make a special order to a giant company, which required one to show proper respect. But the visitor, this time, was the only daughter of the Constance family. A merchant of that size requiring her to visit was Ruan Merchant Co. It is the only company that controls the industries of the three empires and all 10 of the smaller countries.

“No. I’m going to the Doughnafin Merchant Company.”

“Doughnafin? I’ve never heard of it,” said Vylun.

“Of course not because I made it,” said Ella.

Even with Ella’s confident answer, Vylun became suspicious. He had heard about that, but he couldn’t believe it. After all, she had been putting all her effort into training to become the crown princess. He couldn’t believe that she went out of her way to create a merchant company.

“Are you saying you created a merchant company?”

It was easy to see why he was looking at her that way. Thanks to the condescending looks being thrown at her like the one Vylun had, Ella was able to do it without letting anyone know except the Duke.

The Duke always had his eyes on Ella, so he was the only exception. He found out the moment she applied to create the merchant company. He was so shocked that she suddenly created a company, so he called her in right away. Ella, too, didn’t know he was keeping a close eye on her and was stunned.
