The next day, I saw the colorful cards that Jade had bought. Sheets of paper in different colors were spread out on the table.

“Here’s a list of the employees. You don’t have to do this if it’s too hard.”

“It’s okay.”

First, to the Mr. chef.

[Chef Roger, who bakes a different fruit pie every day. Thank you for the delicious pies. The chocolate pie is the best. I am happy on the days when we have pie.]

I wrote the first card and before I knew it, time had flown by.

And finally, the first day of the festival arrived. So that Jade could rest after a busy schedule at the Mage Tower and Academy, I decided to pass the cards that day and go to the festival together from the second day.

In this world, the New Year festival is the biggest event of the year. During this time, people eat, drink, and party every day.

The atmosphere in the mansion was brighter than usual.

‘Did I prepare for this for no reason?’

I fidgeted with the cards that I had prepared so diligently.

Normally, the Duke’s employees are reserved. Even though they are employees, would it be appropriate to say they have dignity?

‘What if they don’t like it?’

The maids who took care of me were always kind, but everyone else was stoic and would just bow silently even if I greeted them.

“Then, please take care of me today. It would be a great help to me, as a butler, if you could boost the morale of the employees.”

“Is that so?”

“Yes. Oh, and please distribute them before the master who went out this morning returns. If the he knows that you have taken away the card she personally wrote, he may change his mind and take it back.”

“Why would Dad do that?”

“That’s just the way he is.”

While Collen can be a bit stubborn at times, I couldn’t imagine him taking something that belonged to the employees.

“By the way, Dad, did you go to the Mage Tower again?”

“Yes.”

Why does he keep going to the Mage Tower for some important business?

‘Oh, I should give this to Zion first!’

I took out a larger card than the others.

“Zion, thank you for always taking care of me.”

Then I bowed and thanked him.

Zion looked at me for a moment, then he also bowed and smiled at me, making eye contact.

“So you’re giving me one too. I’m really glad. I’ll keep it for a long time.”

Zion replied with more dignity than most nobles. Then I wandered around the mansion, feeling awkward.

‘Is he following me again?’

The video stone followed me. It must be Daddy’s work.

‘Give this to the chefs first.’

A delicious smell wafted through the kitchen.

“Bring the food out now! It’s a festival and if anyone makes a mistake, they’ll be in trouble!”

I felt overwhelmed by the busy chefs running around. I grabbed a passing woman by the hand.

“Excuse me…”

The kitchen suddenly quieted down.

“I am the head chef. Can I help you with anything?”

“I came to say thank you for everything.”

I greeted each person and handed out cards, smiling brightly.

“Thank you for everything.”

They all looked at each other in silence.

Wait, did I come to the wrong place?

“Thank you.”

“Thank you too.”

The kitchen staff rummaged through their aprons and pockets, pulling out small gifts.

I blinked in surprise.

“We happen to have this.”

“These are freshly baked cookies. Please have some.”

“Yes…”

I accepted it, blushing. They even gave me a small apron as a gift.

For the rest of the day, I walked around with my head held high, my apron filled with candies, snacks, flowers, and small dolls.

“Thank you for always eating delicious desserts.”

“Thank you for complimenting my flowers. It motivates me to work harder.”

“My lady, please stay healthy and grow well.”

The Duke’s estate was large, and there were many employees.

Even with people I normally didn’t talk to, just looking at their faces made the day pass quickly.

‘Oh, I received so many gifts.’

I blinked at the pile of gifts.

“Thank you for your hard work. You did an excellent job on your first errand today. You were a big help.”

“Thank you, Zion!”

I felt proud.

‘The Duke’s employees are surprisingly friendly.’

They didn’t talk much, but they were all good people.

‘It feels like a fulfilling day.’

Tonight, I’ll be able to sleep soundly.
