“Princess Leticia?”

Then Cedric opened his eyes.

“Prince!”

I reached out my hand. It was inexplicable why Cedric was here.

“Ah, they are both awake. Quite a spectacle, put enough flowers in.”

The man in the crow mask chortled and said. Someone who brought a pile of flowers or a bucket put the flowers in the burning incense burner.

‘This flower!’

My hand trembled.

The red bellflower that Collen had been desperately searching for. It was a red flower with a golden line. The red flower was burning in the incense burner.

Soon, the faint smell filled the room and I found it harder and harder to focus.

“Hoho, hahahaha!”

“Lift the sacrifices to the altar!”

“The resurrection ritual of magic.”

“Demon God! Bless us!”

People began to shout incoherently. Incense burners were placed all around.

‘Are they all hallucinating after inhaling this incense?’

Everyone seemed crazy. There were people who were running in place and people who were laughing continuously. It was an even more horrifying sight as grotesque bird masks moved around.

I struggled as people started to drag me.

“Your mental strength is really strong.”

The man in the crow mask murmured.

“Ah!”

I let out a startled cry involuntarily.

I was dragged to the altar. On top of the wide and flat stage, there were… several skulls placed on it.

‘The smell of medicine.’

An unknown smell of medicine stung my nose.

‘These are painted black skulls.’

It was the same as what I had seen in the museum.

However, this one seemed to have been painted just today as it had the smell of fresh paint.

“Look at this. As the legend goes, on the day of the waning moon of Minos, we painted the skulls black. The skulls of the sacrifices that have died on this altar so far. Two more will be added today.”

Woahhh.

People applauded.

“Let’s offer two more before these skulls even dry! They’ll be the prettiest sacrifices for sure”

Everyone’s eyes were wild, cheering for the nonsensical words. Madness was palpable.

‘So how many people have they killed like this until now?’

Several men pressed my body onto the altar. Naturally, my posture was to lie down, facing the skulls in front of me.

‘I hate this!’

The most chilling thing was…

‘The skulls are all different.’

It was just like what I had seen in the books.

Some were large, adult skulls, and others were as small as a child’s… men’s, women’s skulls.

They varied.

When I screamed, a man covered my mouth. I bit his hand hard.

“Ouch! She bit me!”

“A healthy sacrifice, that’s good.”

Someone scoffed at me.

‘I can’t breathe.’

My throat felt strangled. The man in the parrot mask gripped my neck and pushed me onto the altar.

“Use that! Blind her!”

Something flashed in front of my eyes.

‘What’s this? A magical tool?’

I swung my hand. Everything in front of me turned pitch black.

“This red flower will lead us back to the magical world!”

“Kill the sacrifices! Kill them!”

People shouted.

My vision was black, and my heart sank. Gradually, my vision started to get blurry again.

‘Cedric!’

Cedric was being dragged to the altar just like me. Cedric was laid down next to me.

Before I knew it, a man with a parrot mask holding a large axe approached.

The axe was sharp.
