Chapter 98: Rebuilding the Room

The now quiet little cat appeared exceptionally adorable, but unfortunately, due to being too close and from Du Jiajia and Chen Mu's perspective, they could only see a small portion of the cat's face.

A pink nose.

Three-lobed mouth.

Occasionally licking its lips.

Du Jiajia's heart was about to melt.

However, both sides stared at each other for a long while, and Du Jiajia began to feel uneasy.

She subtly turned her head and whispered, "Chen Mu, I still can't sense any special ability, nor do I know how to communicate with Xiaohuang."

"I can't help you with that," Chen Mu chuckled. "Such things are only understood through intuition, not something that can be taught. You'll understand it in your own time."

Du Jiajia helplessly turned her head back.

But after a moment, she asked again, "Can I go out and touch it?"

"Are you sure?" Chen Mu's voice raised a couple of notches.

"Well, I'm not sure," Du Jiajia said. It was obvious she just wanted to try it out, fully aware of the danger involved. A bit disappointed, she turned back to continue gazing at the cat.

The usually restless little cat displayed great patience at this moment, lying there without much movement, occasionally licking its paws, and changing its position to rest its head on its paws.nôvel binz was the first platform to present this chapter.

Soon, Du Jiajia was no longer as anxious as before, looking at the cat's large and profound eyes, her emotions gradually calming down.

However, just at that moment, the little cat suddenly jumped up.

Chen Mu quickly pulled Du Jiajia back in alarm.

Fortunately, the cat merely stood up and showed no intention of attacking.

Fortunately, these two rooms were mainly used for sleeping at night. During the day, everyone would rest on a large towel outside. Although the storage room's floor had already been cleaned, Dong Junwei suggested leaving a complete towel on the ground. This was mainly to provide a resting place for everyone without the hassle of entering and exiting the rooms. It also served to preserve tradition.

Back in high school, Class 4 of Grade 12 had originally consisted of nine people who walked all the way from the classroom just because of that towel. To some extent, that was the moment they began to feel a sense of home here. Although He Ying and the others couldn't understand that feeling, having a convenient resting place was naturally not objectionable.

...

For Chen Mu, building a room similar to the previous ones was not very challenging. However, as abilities grew, living conditions naturally needed to keep up. The original two rooms now felt somewhat cramped. He decided to tear them down and rebuild.

Currently, there were sixteen people: nine boys and seven girls. The plan was to construct five rooms, two for the boys, two for the girls, and one separate room for Wei Dalei.

With Chen Mu's abilities, he could have easily built a single room for each person, but this idea was vetoed by Tang Jing. She was concerned that it might not be favorable for waking others up in case of any danger. The current arrangement of three to four people in one room was just right.

Ziwei High School encouraged students to live in dormitories during the first and second years, so everyone was accustomed to sharing a room with others.

The size of the new multi-person rooms was 10 centimeters in length, 4 centimeters in width, and 3 centimeters in height. The single rooms were 4 centimeters in length and width, and 3.5 centimeters in height. A 3-centimeter height was not oppressive for most people, except perhaps for someone as tall as Yao Ming. However, Wei Dalei, who was nearly 2 centimeters taller, had his room specially raised.

Compared to others, Wei Dalei's single room was much larger. On the one hand, it allowed for the possibility of accommodating other loud snorers in the future, grouping them together. On the other hand, Wei Dalei's set of axes and shield took up a lot of space.

The current construction method was very different from before. Chen Mu no longer needed to individually build plastic panels and assemble them one by one. Instead, he would directly unfold a cube and then continuously refine it by adding doors and windows.

This construction method was much faster than before. The only issue was with precision in size, so Tang Jing had to constantly direct and modify it. Without a ruler, achieving precise measurements was challenging. For example, the height of the observation tower (80 centimeters) had to be gauged solely by visual estimation. Fortunately, this measurement didn't require too high precision, and different eyes had different accuracies.

Chen Mu could feel that Tang Jing's visual estimations were frighteningly accurate because, although they didn't have a ruler, there were still some things that could serve as reference points. For instance, comparing Wei Dalei's height of 1.97 centimeters to Tang Jing's visually measured 2-centimeter plastic panel showed an almost perfect match down to the smallest detail.
