Idris knew that his nerves were on edge.

If it were usual, he would have dismissed it.

“Ugh… Ugh…”

It was only after it was crushed that he was able to breathe.

This island or this world seemed to become unbearably disgusting for him. If Vianne wasn’t in his arms, he would already crush them.

“Tell me your affiliation.”

He ordered as if he was sentencing them to death. The mage, almost ripped apart except for his face, opened his bloody mouth.

“Glory… for… Rizenbaum.”

Rizenbaum.

It was the name of the faction that kept the No. 1 spot. However, it was also a faction that didn’t come out easily.

Will such a thorough group do this?

It was definitely weird.

Nevertheless, he could not be relieved. It was because there was a Vianne in his arms.

Idris’ eyes were burning.

But also, because Vianne was there, he suppressed everything.

Vianne was quiet.

So he kept his cool. Desperately.

“… We will have to investigate further to see if it is Rezenbaum.”

He cast a communication magic. It was connected before he could count to three.

“Eustave.”

[… Master. Are you at the entrance?]

The person Idris contacted was particularly good at magic. Indeed, Eustave showed his ability to notice Idris through his mana alone.

“In front of the canyon.”

[The waves of magic are strange, but I don’t think they are people left.]

“Come out and check it.”

[I’ll go right away.]

The magic was cut off.

And after about 30 seconds, the heavy arch-shaped doors at the entrance split on both sides and opened.

A mage in a black cloak appeared through it and walked up to them.

“My guess was right. Are you crazy, master?”

Raising the silver-rimmed monocle in his left eye with his index finger, Eustave Ilcanes greeted him with a harsh remark.

“What else is this?”

He kicked the corpse lying next to him with l his shoe. The blood stain was hard to see because of the black shoes.

“He attacked me while claiming to be Rozenbaum.”

“As soon as you finish moving through space?”

Idris made eye contact with him.

Eustave put his hand on his grayish blue hair, and gave me an annoyed look.

“So, isn’t he just lucky to find you while you’re nearby? It seems more likely that it is an impersonation. You always come across these things, so why are you overreacting today?”

“Just in case you don’t know.”

“Master, I’m busy. The master has been away for two days. Don’t you know that Becan came in?”

“Because you have a white-collar job, it wouldn’t be possible to be assigned to the front, Eustave.”

“Don’t belittle my job, because I want to write a resignation right away.”

“I told you to go now.”

“I really don’t like you. One day, I will definitely resign from my position.”

“I hope you withdraw until the end of the period when rebellion is not acceptable. Because it’s annoying to deal with.”

“Are you joking? It looks like you will destroy the island first.”

Eustave grumbled and put a glove. A magenta magic circle centered on his hand lit up.

“Hmm. A very passionate follower. I think Rezenbaum did well.”

Eustave is a mage specialized in reading human minds.

He could only read fragments of a person who had become a corpse, but there were few mage who could even do that.

“Why did you call me like this? If you keep him alive, you can read it yourself.”

“I couldn’t control my power.”

“You do have bad control.”

Eustave tried to guess when the day would come when he resigned. And he was swearing inwardly.

“Let’s stop here.”

After he confirmed it, Idris crossed the bridge without regret.

Eustave followed him with a disgruntled face.

“The battle is not over yet. If you go over the entrance, it’s a battlefield. It’s probably not a very good view for the general public.”

“She fainted, so it doesn’t matter now.”

They crossed the entrance and entered the island. The smell of blood was strong along the main road. It was a battle larger than Idris expected.

“… Did she faint? You seem to care about her a lot. Why do you treat her like that?

“I also asked that myself.”

“Ah, I see.”

Eustave found out that his master had a surprisingly small conscience.

He saw the woman sleeping with a blank face. Is his master big, or is this person small? She weirdly fit in his arms.

“Where are you going to take her? There is no suitable place to live because we are in battle.”

“On the tower.”

“I just said that there is a battle going on in the tower.”

“It means the battle must end.”

Idris said in a blunt and natural way. Eustave believed these words.

He was not an ordinary mage. This mage was one of the geniuses among them.

It’s finally time to end the Becans, who took the opportunity and rushed in recklessly.  Eustave had the biggest smile.

“What is it?”

“Should I even explain that?”

“Of course not.”

Eustave bowed his head with a smile.

He thought it was the best time to end this.

But Idris suddenly handed Vianne to him. A defenseless human suddenly fell into his arms.

Thanks to this, Eustave’s mood plummeted again.

“No, damn it, why are you doing this to me?  Are you belittling me?”

“What are you thinking? I never did it. Weren’t you in the front line before?”

“……That’s true. But it’s already been three years.”

“Does your magic rot after 3 years?”

 “…… Please just go.”

At least he never lost a fight.

Eustave decided to be born as a proud mage in his next life.

Idris glanced at him and walked to the tower. Within a few steps, he flew up and disappeared.

Eustave, who was left behind, sighed deeply.

“Look, at least tell me what to do with it…?”

It was an ordinary human he saw for the first time in three years.
