Why did I think that way? When I looked at him again he had a light smile.

“…  …  Should I show you?”

He asked softly and I blinked my eyes.

“How? You want to dispel the magic?”

“It’s too dangerous.”

Idris came closer to me. He was originally close, but now it was even closer.

And as soon as I thought about it, I felt something was different.

‘Huh?’

He closed his eyes and put his forehead on mine. I was surprised and couldn’t close my eyes.

“Uh, um, Idris?”

“I’m going to share a part of me. You can get it as it comes without rejecting it. If you refuse, I’ll be sick, so be nice to me.”

“What? I’ve never done anything like this! What if I make a mistake and you get hurt?”

“It’s okay, You just need to calm down and give permission for my intrusion.”

“Well, how do you do that?”

“You can see what I see.”

“Ah…”

I hesitated and told him to give it a try.

“You have to close your eyes. That way, your vision won’t be confused.”

I closed my eyes, calming my pounding heart.

Immediately after that, my mind tickled slightly.

I stayed still, trying not to go against the flow as much as possible.

‘I can’t hurt Idris!’

The magic seemed to have succeeded smoothly. Soon Idris seperated from me.

Ok.

“… … Ah.”

I could see what he sees.

I had blue eyes and dark hair.

But now, I was surrounded by a brilliant light.

The small lights clumped together and were concentrated in me.

“So it was like this……”

“I can see how you are without the concealing spell.”

“Wow, I would have been blind if I couldn’t control my sight, you…  …  .”

As I rambled, I suddenly felt something as I saw myself buried in the light.

“…….”

What? Why?

“But Idris…”

Why do you feel so sad seeing me?

“Vianne?”

“I feel a little sad…”

I was consumed by a feeling that didn’t belong to me. It was as if I was caught up in a storm.

“… … Are you sad?”

“No, I have no reason to be sad. Why are you sad?”

He covered his face with both hands.

My heart ached. It wasn’t because it was I felt pain, but because of his pure emotions.

“…Ah. Vianne, I’m sorry. I’m sorry.”

Watching me for a while, he belatedly apologized in a hurry.

Idris took my hand and released the magic.

Then, in an instant, the sadness disappeared.

I was out of breath.

I glanced at him as he wiped away his tears.

“What happened?”

“…  There’s a slight error.”

Idris had a troubled expression on his face.

“What does that mean?”

“I should have only shared my sight. But my feelings followed. Is it because you’re so accepting?”

“Your feelings… are like that?”

How deep is that?

“Maybe.”

He slightly avoided my gaze.

I was surprised, worried, and felt complicated.

“Idris.”

I called out to him in a gentle voice.

“Why are you sad?”

Life itself is sad, but how can he be sad until this moment?

“…I told you, my sight and feelings isn’t great.”

What if I’m the reason for the sadness?

“I don’t want you to shine.”

Idris said the words even though he knew I couldn’t do anything about it.

He said that as if he was so desperate.

“If only you didn’t have to learn magic…  …  .”

He couldn’t finish his speech.

It was because I hugged him. Digging into him, I recalled that he was also a person with warm body temperature.

No one in my past life has been sad for me like this.

I’ve never been hugged by others in my life.

In my past life, there was no one who could touch me.

In this life, I didn’t have much contact with others too. Because of my past life, I was always awkward with my family here.

At best, I only treated Liliel without hesitation.

However, Idris made the 10-years gap insignificant and made me want to embrace him.

I couldn’t understand it.

It was awkward for me to do this.

And it’s scary too.

“Vianne.”

I listened to his words while being held in his arms which was warmer than the fireplace.

“I didn’t want to make you worry.”

“…  … I know.”

But let’s just stay like this for now.

“It’s comforting to have someone like you.”

I mumbled a little.

Idris quietly embraced me.  I was almost hidden in his robes.

“Tell me I’ll be fine.”

His body temperature was warm, and I liked his scent, so I said things that I would not normally said.

“…  …  You’ll be fine, Vianne.”

Idris did as I asked again.

“After everything is done. Let’s run away with Liliel too, somewhere very far away.”

“Where?”

Idris asked with a smile.

“Anywhere. If possible, go to a place where no one’s there!”

Honestly, I’ve been exhausted for a long time. Everyone at one point in their life need to socialize, but for some reason, it was especially hard for me.

It was the same with Idris.

So let’s run away somewhere.

I grumbled.

“I’ll look for it, somewhere like that.”

His reply was good, even if it’s short. I liked it

“I will believe you.”

“Okay.”

I laughed a little then.

Idris still held me.

He raised one hand and fiddled with my hair.

His hands hovered around my face as if he wanted to touch me.

After a long hesitation, he hold me tighter.

I buried my face in his arms, pretending I didn’t notice it.

***

We slept in the same room from the day the attempt was made to kill me.

Idris said that it didn’t matter if we slept on the same bed, but I insisted that we sleep in a different bed.

These days, when I’m with him, my emotions fluctuate in a strange way.

So I slept in his bed. And he put a new bed next to mine and slept there.

“Did you sleep well?”

By the time I opened my eyes, he had already been up for a long time.
