Zen stood up, still gasping for air.
Zen closed his eyes and an aura emanated from Zen, pale yellow in color.
The scar on Zen's abdomen seemed to seep in. His veins were very clearly visible, a very light blue in colour, blood pulsated through them at a very fast pace.
A few minutes passed and the aura around Zen faded, as Zen opened his eyes, once again gasping for air. His scar was gone.
*gasp gasp* 'I repaired my Kyon core!'
From the door on his front, he heard foot steps. "I totally forgot about where I was!". Zen quickly reached for his dagger, the door in front of him opened right after. A fairly tall man, faced covered with a cloth, wearing white clothes had entered the room carrying a tray with what seemed to be medicine. Zen quickly brandished the dagger and closed the door, almost instantly. Holding the dagger up to the man's neck, he said "Where is this?", "T-the rose Imugi sect." the man replied, shaking. Zen put his dagger down. "Who brought me here?" Zen asked as someone else entered the room.
"Ho, it seems our guest here is awake and well now." the man said. It was the same man who had approached Zen a few days ago in the inn. "We meet again don't we? Zen". "It's you again." "What do you want from me? No one in the Jianghu would help or invite a random person into their newly established sect.", Zen asked. "It's simple, I heard the rumours, and wanted to invite you into this sect.", "Which rumours?" Zen asked, confused. "You know, the rumours about you being the one who destroyed a whole branch of the black faction all by yourself.". "How'd that even start to spread as a rumour? Anyway, what you say is correct. I'll join your sect on one small condition." Zen replied, arrogantly. "I'd be delighted to hear that." asked the man, curiously. "I get to duel with the strongest in your sect." Zen said as the nurse quietly left the room. "Are you sure? He's quite strong you know.", "I'm sure." Zen said. Follow me then. As they were walking out of the building, Zen asked the man, "How do you know about the Blood Cult?" ,"I used to be a part of the Orthodox Faction until two years ago." , "Anyway, we're here, the Rose Imugi training grounds." they both walked out of an old fashioned door, into moon light. A raised, cemented, platform, just like the one at the Orthodox sect, was placed in the middle of a ground.
The man called one of the martial artists patrolling the building and said something to him. "Come, we'll talk until he comes." the man invited Zen, they both jumped onto a wall close by. "Come to think of it, what's your name?" Zen asked, "Ah, I didn't tell you that did I?", "It's Jin-Hyuk.", "Mine's Zen". "He will be here soon, do you wanna use that dagger or your sword?" Jin-Hyuk asked Zen, politely. "This dagger will hold up, it's not like I'm gonna have to try anyway.", he replied. "Oh are you gonna regret saying that, Zen" Jin Hyuk muttered under his breath.
A bulky, dark skinned man walked onto the stage, he was well clothed, tall, and had a bow hanging from his back. "A bow man is the strongest you've got? I expected more from you." Zen said, running back onto the stage, he still had some bandages attached to his lower abdomen. 'You sure this is the one Jin-Hyuk? I can't sense any Qi from him!', "Yes that's the one, Kyoten."
"Alright then" Kyoten said, Jin-Hyuk jumped off the wall, raised his hand and said, as Zen readied his dagger, "BEGIN!"
Zen launched towards Kyoten, who was drawing his bow. Zen raised his dagger aiming to end this in one blow, however, Kyoten was now nowhere to be seen. Zen released what little remained of his Qi to sense where Kyoten was, and to his horror sensed him to be slightly far behind him. Kyoten drew his bow, not with normal arrows, but with arrows made of Qi. The arrows seemed like small bolts of lightning.
Zen moved just in time to not be struck by Kyoten's arrow, which hit a wall away from the platform, which blew up.
"You really wanna avoid those arrows", "Kyoten infuses his Qi arrows with a special type of Qi." Jin-Hyuk said, sitting on the wall.
'That was definitely..' Zen thought as Kyoten charged up another arrow to launch at Zen.
"That's all you got? Blood Cult survivor? Such a puny amount of Qi?" Kyoten mocked Zen.
Kyoten shot another few arrows at Zen, but to no avail, for Zen had dodged them all, the structure of the place was a total wreck. "Not bad I guess, but I still don't get how you fought against Qin-Xiang."
"Who's that?" Zen asked, closing the distance between him and Kyoten, once again aiming for Kyoten's neck. "You know,.." he disappeared out of Zen's sight again, but was still sensed by him, again being behind Zen. "..the Chief Commander of the Orthodox Sect.". Kyoten drew three arrows this time around, each of them glowed much more than the previous ones.
"It's time to end this." Kyoten said, as he finished drawing his bow, "Frost-Flame Bow Technique, Restrained Release." , "Heavenly Qi Release, Zhou Substitute." Zen and Kyoten both said at once. The three arrows launched towards Zen, at an unfathomable speed, this was even faster than the time Zen had fought against Abaddon. Zen ran towards Kyoten, head-on.
One of the arrows almost hit Zen, who had blocked it with his dagger, the dagger was almost broken at this point. Zen knew that the dagger couldn't take one more hit, and decided to bet it on a single strike from the sky. Zen jumped towards the sky, surprisingly or not, the two arrows followed Zen, who was now sure that the arrows were made up of Kyon.
Kyoten aimed another arrow right at Zen, who was now falling onto Kyoten, yelling "HEAVENLY QI TECHNIQUE: THIRD FORM" yellow and black jets of Qi followed Zen, who had just now cut through the arrow Kyoten shot, at point-blank distance. Zen landed on top of Kyoten's shoulders, making him fall down. Zen held his dagger down to Kyoten's neck and asked, "WHY DO YOU KNOW ABOUT THAT TECHNIQUE?!"
