When Shao Yan stepped inside, the first thing that caught her attention was the flooring. Unlike all the other cake shops, Feifei decided to use bamboo as her flooring.
The soft color made the whole area seem to be larger and brighter.
The pillars of the walls were decorated in mosaic using tiles with a combination of light blue, dark blue and white.
In the middle of the shop, instead of a typical crystal chandelier to make the place look luxurious, Feifei decided to put a cluster of industrial style lights with vintage bulbs.
To her right, was the service area. A long counter made from the same mosaic tiles and top with a solid piece of wood, served as the cashier area.
Small round tables with bamboo tops were spread all around the shop. The legs of the tables were painted in white. And each table had four to five chairs; also painted fully in white color. A small vase with three stems of colorful daisy flowers was placed on each table; creating a comfortable feeling for the people who were sitting around.
On the wall, Feifei decided to hang pictures of her shop life. One wall was decorated with pictures of employees in action. One picture frame was about a man who was kneading a dough. Another picture frame was showing a girl who was putting a tray of dough into the oven; and so on.
Shao Yan, through her amateur eyes, could see that Feifei wanted to make this place not only her own place, but also giving a sense of ownership to her staff.
Another wall was decorated with pictures of her cakes in hand drawn sketches. Each of her cakes was drawn in colored pencils; giving details on each layer and on the side of the cake, was the ingredients noted in English and written in cursive letters.

To her left, Shao Yan saw that a long table had been set up. A white lace cloth was covering the table, and on the top, Feifei had arranged arrays of her cakes in small bite size. Each flavors were placed together next to another; and Shao Yan counted there were about twelve to fifteen different cakes that people could try on today.
"Xiao Yan!"
"Yan jie!"
Li Na and Fan jie called her at the same time when they spotted Shao Yan had walked in. Shao Yan raised one hand and waved back at them, and then she turned to the side to look at Li Xiqing who was smiling back at her; encouraging her to keep walking. His hand was placed on her back as they walked together to the table.
"Hello, Daniel," Fan jie greeted him when they finally stood in front of them.
They exchanged pleasantries with each other before Shao Yan and Li Xiqing joined them at the table. Shao Yan sat with her back against the wall and Li Xiqing sat next to her; so the two of them were able to see the whole shop easily.
Shao Yan placed her hand on top of Li Xiqing thigh as she leaned closer to whisper at him, "Can you text the others and ask them when will they arrive?"
Li Xiqing nodded, and took out his phone, and started to work on his lady's request.
Shao Yan turned back to the front, and started to chat with Li Na and Fan jie.
Not long after, more people started to show up.

The next person that showed up after Shao Yan and Li Xiqing was Karl. Shao Yan spotted Karl right away due to his height; and Karl spotted them as well, because of Li Xiqing. He passed a bouquet of tulips to Feifei before pointing at Shao Yan.
Feifei then knew that Karl was one of Shao Yan's friends that she had invited today. Feifei beamed at the beautiful flowers in her hands before they chatted more for a while; and then Shao Yan saw Karl started to walk towards their table.
Karl looked incredibly suave today as well. He was dressed in a light blue collared shirt and mustard colored sweater on the outside. He also paired them with dark green pants and a matching pair of brown leather belt and shoes.
As he stood by the table, Fan jie noticed his arrival and then squealed in happiness. She jumped from her seat and gave him a tight hug, "Wow! You look so handsome today!" She exclaimed in excitement. Her eyes sparkled with adoration at the young man. And then she patted the empty chair next to her, "Come, sit here. Don't sit next to Daniel all the time."
Shao Yan exchanged looks with Li Na, trying to hold their laughs.

The next couple to arrive was Mandy and Axel.
There were so many attractive people in the shop today. Feifei had invited the media, so everyone really dressed to their nines.
But the most attractive couple award might be for Mandy and Axel.
As they walked in, almost everyone who noticed their arrival, would take a second look to really stare at them.
The two people were both tall and good looking. Mandy looked so elegant in white beige dress. The top part was made of satin and lace, and then started from waist down; the dress transformed to wool and wrapped her snugged like a fragile angel. The only accessory she put on tonight was a pair of golden hoop earrings. She looked simple from head to toe yet luxurious at the same time.
Axel, on the other hand, decided to go all dark. He had black turtleneck sweater with black jeans, which he paired with a matching combination of black leather jacket and shoes. Black and grey shawl was wrapped around his neck.
When the two of them walked side by side like this, people could not help to notice that they were like a pair of angel and demon. They were contrasted with each other; and yet they had the best synergy too.
Feifei was stunned silly at the couple. Shao Yan saw Mandy smiled and spoke a few words, before Feifei turned her head around to look at Li Xiqing and then Shao Yan.
Feifei replied another few words, and then Shao Yan saw Mandy was trying to pass her a red envelope to congratulate her; which sent Feifei to a panic.
Shao Yan saw Feifei raised both hands to refuse her monetary gift. The two women exchanged a few words, before Axel finally decided to step in. His hand had always been placed on her waist; hugging her close to him. He said something to Mandy, and then to Feifei, and then Shao Yan saw that Feifei reluctantly accepted the red packet and smiled at the two of them bashfully.
She then extended her hand to welcome Mandy and Axel inside her shop.
Shao Yan then let out a gentle smile at Mandy when she finally spotted Shao Yan and the two of them started to walk to their table.
