Chapter 272: Don't Worry

The day for the trip was finally here. Li Xiqing arrived early at her apartment building to pick her up at the airport.
"Be careful, guys! Don't have too much fun!" Qi Ling quipped from the living room. She was watching the couple who were standing at the foyer.
Her luggage was on the floor by her feet while she was putting on her shoes. Shao Yan took a quick glance, "Don't burn the kitchen down when I'm not here, just keep ordering your food online!"
Li Xiqing was standing by the entrance door. He reached his hand forward and grabbed the handle of the suitcase, "Thanks, Qi Ling, we will go off now."
Qi Ling waved her hands, "Good luck with your business deal, Surname Li."
"Please make sure Yan Yan is well fed," She added.
Shao Yan stuck out her tongue, "I definitely will eat a lot there, you don't have to worry, Grandma."
"I'll go now, Ling Ling," She quickly added before disappearing from the front door and closed the door behind her before Qi Ling could answer back.
Qi Ling clicked her tongue, "Tsk! Annoying brat!" she laughed as she walked to the front door and locked it, and then she walked back to her bedroom to catch on more sleep.

The flight to Singapore went well without any hiccups. The five and a half hour flight went by just like that without Shao Yan even realizing.
They took an early flight that left Shanghai at ten in the morning. Shao Yan had woken up at five to get ready, so she was already feeling exhausted by the time she sat on the plane.
After the brunch services were completed, Shao Yan relaxed her seat and took a nap right away.
Li Xiqing was working on his laptop. When he noticed she was not moving anymore, he glanced at the woman beside him who was sleeping slumberly. His hand reached slowly to adjust the scarf that she had spread open on her chest to keep her warm.
He bent his knuckles and stroked her cheek gently. He had not seen her for a few days, and seeing her again now made him realize how much importance he had placed her in his heart.
His eyes turned soft as his lips curved into a smile.
He leaned closer and planted a soft kiss on her forehead, causing Shao Yan to stir and adjusted her head that was leaning against his shoulder.

"Taxi number five."
Singapore Changi Airport had assigned a few attendees to manage the taxi service. They would arrange the parking of each taxi on their designated spaces before letting the passengers board their cars.
When it was their turn, Li Xiqing mentioned their destination "Fullerton Hotel" before the attendees assigned them to taxi number five.
Shao Yan saw an elderly aged man standing next to the blue car with a warm smile on his face. One hand was holding the trunk cap that was already opened.
When he saw the couple was walking towards him, the elderly man walked over and met them halfway to receive their bags and put them into the trunk of his taxi.
"Welcome to Singapore," Taxi uncle started a small chat in English with the couple who was sitting at the back of his car.
"Thank you, uncle," Shao Yan answered him in Mandarin.
"Oh!" He exclaimed, pleased at her reply, he quickly answered back in Mandarin as well, "Where are you from?"
"Shanghai," Shao Yan kept her answer short, but still cordial as the uncle seemed like the chatty type.
"Oh! Shanghai is good! That's good! You will find Singapore to be similar to Shanghai then, you will love it here!"
And then the taxi uncle started to introduce more of Singapore to the couple along their drive to the hotel.

After they completed their check in process, Li Xiqing and Shao Yan went to their hotel room to freshen up.
By the time they were done, it was already around seven o'clock at night. Perfect time for dinner.
Shao Yan had changed her outfit into a comfortable ankle length pleated pants. Its soft pink in color brought a breezy feeling to those who noticed her presence. She combined it with a black and white striped short sleeves, making her whole look a little more edgy. Li Xiqing had also changed to a simple white polo shirt with khaki pants.
Once they had touched down Singapore land, Shao Yan could feel the humidity right away, but the weather was pretty much similar to Shanghai so she did not find it difficult to adjust.
Shao Yan looked at the suave Daniel by her side. She linked her arms around his, "So, where should we go for dinner, handsome?" She asked as they walked out of the elevator to the lobby area.
Li Xiqing laughed, he peeled her arms away and instead wrapped his arm around her waist.
"It's a little far, so we need to take a taxi again. It's supposedly a very famous Singapore Chicken Rice restaurant."
Shao Yan nodded, "En, I have read about this National dish, let's go!"
When they stepped out of the hotel entrance, their taxi was already outside the door; waiting for the couple to arrive.
Li Xiqing opened the rear door for Shao Yan to sit in before he rounded the car and entered from the other side.

He and Axel were meeting their client today, so Shao Yan decided to explore downtown Singapore. She figured by starting early, she could explore more places during the day.
The sun was shining brightly when the couple stepped out of the hotel. Li Xiqing stood next to the car that Axel had sent for him. The black sleek sedan was parked in front of the hotel lobby waiting for him.
"I'm sorry you have to be alone today, I'll meet you for dinner; or if we finish earlier, I can see you in the afternoon."
Shao Yan nodded and then waved her hands, "Don't worry about me," She patted her purse, "I have my phone and portable Wi-Fi with me, I can explore the city by myself, don't worry."
Li Xiqing stared at her for a while, before he cupped his hand behind her head and kissed her forehead, "Alright, be careful. Call me if you need anything."
Shao Yan closed her eyes for a few seconds to receive his kiss before she patted him on the chest, "Don't worry, I'll be fine. Go now!"

Li Xiqing watched her departing figure for a while before he lowered himself slightly to enter the car.

Shao Yan closed her eyes for a few seconds to receive his kiss before she patted him on the chest, "Don't worry, I'll be fine. Go now!"
She freed herself from his embrace, waved at him and then turned around to start walking to the road side and cross the street; towards the subway station. Her first mission was to find a local food stall that served Singaporean style breakfast.
Li Xiqing watched her departing figure for a while before he lowered himself slightly to enter the car.
