Loud murmurs were heard from her surroundings, before all of a sudden everyone started to gasp when Shao Yan heard a twang sound. And then all of a sudden, she saw the capsule was being released into the air.
Loud, long screams and wails were heard from the passengers who were now hanging loose in the air about 60 meters above them; which was similar to a 20 floor building. There were only two people seated in it when it was flung up to the sky. And both of them kept screaming on top of their lungs.
Shao Yan slowly turned her head around, to look at Li Xiqing in his eyes.
"No way!" She shook her head firmly.
"Nu uh!"
She raised both of her arms and made them crossed against each other in front of her chest, "Nope! I will not get on that thing."
Some girls who were standing in line waiting for their turns were looking horrified at the capsule above them. They squealed in excitement and started to argue with each other if they could do the same thing after.
The capsule hung in the air for a few seconds. Shao Yan watched for a couple of minutes before she noticed that the capsule was slowly making its descent back to the ground. The total ride was about three to four minutes, maybe?
"See? It's not that bad," Li Xiqing placed his hand on her shoulders and pulled her closer to him when he noticed the crowd around them started to grow and the people began to nudge them.
Shao Yan did not reply to his remarks, and instead she kept watching the two passengers in the capsule. From the descending capsule, she could see they were still young, maybe teenagers. They looked horrified but at the same time, exhilarated. Their faces were glowing with excitement and the blush on their cheeks were showing they had fun.
After the couple alighted from the capsule, they high-fived and fist-bumped their friends who had been waiting for them, and Shao Yan saw the couple start to show off their experience in animated gestures. Their hands were waving all over the place as their friends laughed and patted their shoulders along; sharing their excitement.
A little fire sparked in her curious heart.
Shao Yan glanced up at Li Xiqing and nodded, "Shall we try as well?"

He shouted out loud so she could hear him. Both Shao Yan and Li Xiqing sat behind the safety pole that had been lowered down onto their lap and locked. Each of them were strapped to the safety belt attached to the capsule.
"Are you ready?"
The attendees began their countdown, and Shao Yan could feel the capsule was pulled backwards.
"I am super nervous!" She shouted back at him; her fingers were linked with his. His eyes dropped onto their adjoined fingers, he noticed Shao Yan had cold sweat in her palm.
"It's going to be fine, don't be nervous!" Li Xiqing shouted back, trying to calm her down.
Shao Yan curved her lips but her eyebrows dropped, she was skeptical the ride was going to be nothing. She was pretty sure it was going to be epic. Her other hand was holding tight on the seat belt on her shoulders.
The seat was gradually inclined and both of them were now facing the sky. Along the two poles were lights that were installed to gather crowds around, but all she could see was the sky. The dark blue color had some twinkles from the stars in the clear bright sky tonight. She squeezed his hand tighter.
She heard the twang sound.
And then she could not hear anything else.
Other than the wheezing wind. They were rocketed up to the sky in mere seconds.
Her hair was swaying like crazy around her face.
A loud scream belted out in the air and she had no idea who was screaming next to her ears. Until Shao Yan realized, it was herself.
The wind was blowing harshly on her face, but the cold air cleared her mind; she wanted to laugh out loud.
She turned to the side and saw Li Xiqing was laughing at her. His face was glowing up with excitement.
"WOO - HOOO !!" He screamed on top of his lungs, causing her to laugh in amusement.
So she let out more of her laughters as well as the capsule hung loose in the sky, dangling by the two ropes.

"Do you want to purchase the photos?"
"THAT WAS AMAZING!"
Shao Yan and Li Xiqing spoke at the same time. They exchanged looks with one another before they burst in tiny giggles.
Shao Yan nodded, "Sure! I would love that. I will never forget this experience."
Li Xiqing placed his palm behind her head and gently patted her, "Me too," And then he smiled into her eyes and added, "Lets, go. It's this way."
He placed his hand at the small of her back and together they walked to the collection booth.
Once they were done, they continued their walk back to the shop houses along the river.
"What would you like to eat?" His eyes were locked at the rosy blush of her cheek.
Shao Yan was still looking at the picture in her hands and Li Xiqing had been the one who guided their steps along the way.
"Uh," She lifted her face and looked upfront, "I saw a very crowded burger place over there just now. Her chin pointed to one of the alleys.
And then she threw her head around and met him in the eyes, "Let's have the greasiest burger in town, huge cheese french fries and a giant glass of beer?"
Li Xiqing could not believe his hearing, but he saw the woman who was standing next to him. With her huge, round eyes, she was looking at him convincingly. Her face was brightened up and was expecting him to nod his agreement.
He slowly raised his hand and placed the back of his hand against her forehead, "Who are you? What did you do to my girlfriend, Yan Yan?"
Shao Yan giggled and swatted his hand away, "Annoying!" And then she added, "I am in a very exciting mood, alright?"
"Ever since I saw their chicken wings just now, I really want to try that kind of food here! I think they match with the excitement tonight."
"So, why must we stop now?" She bent her elbow and pointed at his direction, "Shall we, Mister?"
Li Xiqing shook his head while chuckling. He dropped his head as he laughed but he still linked his hand around her elbow and they continued their strolls towards the restaurant that Shao Yan mentioned earlier.
"This must be the weirdest date I have ever had," He said before he released his hand from around her elbow and wrapped it around her waist instead, "But it is also the most exciting."
All of a sudden he leaned closer to her.
"Although I must say," He whispered in her ears, "Your energetic spirit tonight is really...."
When his eyes met hers, Shao Yan noticed the glint in his eyes sparkled cheekily. His arrogant smirk was displayed proudly in his face; making her already blushed cheek went a deeper shade of red, ".... very sexy."
