For others, the week passed by slowly, but for Shao Yan, it felt like it was only a blink of an eye.

After her engagement ceremony, all of a sudden, her family grew much bigger. She now had a mother, a father, a sister and brother in law, and a soon-to-be niece or nephew because Mandy was pregnant.

Her days were already so hectic with all of her projects in the office, and at the same time, Shao Yan had to plan for her own wedding.

She felt like she was going mad!

But luckily Grandmother, Risa and Qi Ling were around.

"Yan Yan," With her long fingers, she dipped her hand into a brown bag and fished out a French fry.

"Grandmother and I have discussed the matter of your wedding registration next week," She said while chewing her French fries happily.

"So we decided that Grandma will take care of your cheongsam dress for the day, you don't have to worry about that. And I will take care of the family dinner after you signed the certificate."

She moved the brown bag and placed it in front of her, "Want some?"

Shao Yan shook her head, "No, Thanks," before she went back to her own burger and chewed slowly.

Today was a working day as usual, and during lunch time, Risa appeared at her desk suddenly and dragged her out, "I am craving for greasy burger and French fries, let's go now, Yan Yan." And before she got the chance to shoot down the idea, Risa had grabbed her purse and phone, and dragged her outside.

And here they were! Two women; each holding a burger in their hands and eating them without any guilt.

----------

Shao Yan nodded and kept chewing on her cheeseburger.

"Qi Ling also called me last night," Risa continued, "She wanted to be involved in your wedding reception, so she offered to take care of the flowers. Everything. Meaning, for your marriage registration as well as your wedding reception."

Risa picked up one French fry and pointed at the end of it at Shao Yan, "So now, your flower details have also been taken care of," Risa made a "tick" sign in the air using the French fries before her beautiful white teeth sank into the delicious fries.

"Now, Martin and Karl have also offered to plan your reception party. They said they knew the right people for all the music and party stuff," Risa waved her hand around, "I have zero knowledge about that so I told them to talk to Daniel. And I know your mother in law is in charge of your wedding venue decorations."

"En," Shao Yan mumbled before she sipped on her chocolate milkshake, "Signing a marriage certificate is only a matter of a five minute deal. So we don't have to plan anything complicated for that day. Mother also agreed about that, so she is focusing herself for the reception next year."

"My wedding cake is also done, by the way. Feifei called me and yelled at me for hours for not telling me about the engagement and wedding," Shao Yan sighed.

"But long story short, somehow, she is now in charge for all of my cakes," she finished her words with a small shrugs.

Risa paused while enjoying her french fries; she slowly bit into it and thought about her words.

A moment later, she chimed, "So what's next then? I feel like your wedding planning is now all done!"

Shao Yan put the last bite of her burger into her mouth, before folding the wrapping paper neatly and dumped it into the original brown bag.

"Cheongsam for Tea Ceremony, checked. Flowers, checked. Cakes, checked. Music, checked," She grabbed hold of her milkshake again, "I only need the venue to have my wedding, I need a simple dress to look good with, and I need a pair of comfortable shoes."

"And we should all be set!" Risa concluded.

"And I need my groom. Can't have a wedding without my groom," Before she ended with a wink at Risa.

"Yes," Risa snapped her fingers, "Of course, your very handsome groom. Don't forget about him."

----------

After the engagement ceremony, Grandmother had asked Shao Yan to live with her for one week until she signed her marriage certificate.

"I never got the chance to bond with you properly," Grandma had said, "Now that you are a married woman soon, let me get to know you more before I go back to Taiwan."

Shao Yan had agreed to this. She also felt that she needed more time to let Grandma know her more. So she agreed to live with her for a week.

And all of a sudden, Shao Yan was reminded how it felt to be living as a child again.

When she woke up in the morning, there was someone who nagged her to go to work while preparing her breakfast.

When she came home in the afternoon, there was someone who asked about her days over warm meals, and also nagged her about her clothes and how she should eat more.

And when she fell asleep, there was someone who always made sure her blanket was warm.

"Grandma, I'm almost thirty years old this year. I just had my twenty nine birthday, remember? You don't have to treat me like I'm a child anymore," was what she kept telling her own Grandmother.

"But you are forever a child in my eyes. I still remember the chubby little self who ran around the house," was what she always replied to Shao Yan while patting her back so she could fall asleep soon.

But no matter how much she whined or complained, deep inside her heart, Shao Yan knew that she would be forever a child when she was with Grandma.

She herself knew that very well.

"En," She snuggled closer to Grandma, "Why don't you tell me the story about how you met Grandpa again, Grandma?"

----------

"So, I'll pick you up tomorrow at four?"

Shao Yan nodded, before she realized that Li Xiqing could not see her, "You don't have to come and pick us up. Let's just meet at the City Hall right away," She quickly added, "Risa will drive us, so we will meet you and your parents there."

Li Xiqing got up from the study desk and turned off the lamp. He had just finished working on some stuff before he called Shao Yan. He walked out of his study room and went back to the bedroom, "Alright, let's do that then. So what did Grandmother cook tonight?"

"Yam soup, steamed egg and stir fry broccoli. Have you eaten?"

Li Xiqing had been calling her every night, right before her sleeping time. Their days were spent with text messages when they were free, but the last time they had seen each other was during the engagement ceremony.

They would talk about anything. Sometimes, the call would be as short as thirty minutes, but most of the time, it would be hours.

"Why did I feel like we were living at your grandparents' time? We only meet each other once a week," Shao Yan giggled onto the phone, "And don't get me wrong, I am not complaining, I just feel entertained with the whole situation."

She heard his deep chuckles from the other end, and her heart felt warm.

"I miss you so much," She sighed before she leaned back onto the headboard, "Hearing your voice like this before I sleep is always the best part of my day. And receiving your 'good morning' text always makes me look forward to the rest of the day until our late night calls again."

"En," He answered, "I'm here. You can always tell me anything, I'm listening."
