Chapter 214 - "Meeting with the Demon Lord"

“Meeting with the Demon Lord”

“Now, where can I find the Demon Lord?”

Having left Sanya’s room, I aimlessly wandered through the unnecessarily wide corridors to meet the Demon Lord, the representative of the demon race. These corridors were so wide that they would make you think they even employed giants, and for me, a twelve-year-old boy, they felt more like open squares.

After walking for a while without reaching the Demon Lord, I concluded that I should use my ability to sense magical power to locate him. From that point on, I continued walking while searching for the source of the Demon Lord’s magical power.

After about thirty minutes of walking, I arrived at what seemed to be the source of the Demon Lord’s magical power. Thinking it might be a good idea to knock as a matter of politeness, even though it was a demon, I knocked on the door three times.

“…Who is it?”

A low voice from inside the room replied to my knock. I responded to that voice.

“I’ve come to resolve the current issues within this castle. May I enter?”

“…Very well. Come in.”

Having received permission to enter, I slowly opened the door. Inside was a ruggedly handsome man. He looked to be in his early thirties, but in reality, he had lived for hundreds of years, and the aura he exuded suggested he was no ordinary person.

With platinum blonde short hair and sharp eyes that seemed to see through everything, a single glare from him might cause an average human to faint. He was dressed in finely tailored military-like clothing, an appearance befitting the title of Demon Lord.

“You’re a human…? Why is a human here?”

“That’s not a problem now. I’m just carrying out a client’s request.”

Perhaps it was because of his past antagonism with humans, but the moment the Demon Lord saw that I was a human, his face contorted in displeasure. However, it didn’t matter to me, so I proceeded with the conversation.

“Do you know that your second daughter is planning to invade the human realm again? I’ve come to stop her.”

“Hmph, what can a human like you do? You’re just a mere human brat—”

“Oh, so you’re implying that I’m inferior to someone with only an SS-ranked status? I can still instantly kill SS-rank monsters…”

“Guh!”

The Demon Lord’s words seemed to have struck a nerve, so I used my skill, “Super Intimidation,” to exert pressure on him. The demon lord’s face showed an anguished expression due to the overwhelming pressure.

Despite having previously investigated the Demon Lord’s abilities using “Super Analysis,” as befitting the king of demons, he possessed formidable abilities. I had briefly wondered if he might have an artifact like Sara and the others, which could bypass my “Super Analysis,” but it seemed my wish, that such outrageous magical artifacts were rare, had been granted, and I was able to peek into the Demon Lord’s abilities.

The Demon Lord’s status was higher than that pesky succubus, likely around SS to SSC in terms of parameter values. However, my abilities had reached SS to SSS, and I was currently striving to achieve SSSF-.

After all, while I couldn’t see the stats of that loli hag I knew, I assumed she was probably above SSSS at least. There’s no time to be staying still here!

“I-I understand. I admit my defeat. So, please, calm down your intimidation…”

“Can the Demon Lord easily admit defeat?”

Whether it was due to succumbing to my intimidation or for some other reason, the Demon Lord broke into a sweat on his forehead, admitted his loss, and begged me to remove the pressure. In response to the Demon Lord’s unexpected declaration of defeat, I, who had been completely disarmed, released the pressure as he requested.

“I suppose I can’t easily win against you. You may not be as formidable as the Witch of Disaster, Nagartinya, but for your age, you possess incredible power.”

“That loli hag is special. Ah, forget about that. First of all, I’ve evacuated Sara and Sanya. They’re currently at my place.”

“W-What did you say!? Y-You!! What are you planning to do with my daughters?”

The moment I mentioned that I was looking after Sara and Sanya, the Demon Lord directed an intense murderous intent toward me as if he was about to shoot me. I didn’t understand why the Demon Lord was so furious, so I simply asked.

“Demon Lord, weren’t you informed by Oshibori?”

“Oshibori?

“I mean, she’s a female demon who looks like a total seductress, and occasionally, her breasts spill out of her clothes.”

Although my description of that female demon was quite eccentric, it seemed to resonate with the Demon Lord, who had a face of recognition.

“Seductress… Ah, you mean Hera. No, she hasn’t said anything.”

“…Ah, my apologies. I probably forgot to inform her about Sara and Sanya.”

“What? Is Sara back? Is she safe?”

Seeing the Demon Lord’s excessive reaction to my words, it seemed that Sara hadn’t visited the Demon Lord’s place since returning to the Demon Lord’s city. Normally, in such situations, wouldn’t children let their parents know that they were safe?

I had my suspicions, so I decided to mention Sanya as well. The response was similar: “Has Sanya woken up!?”

Demon Lord, don’t your daughters have any affection for you as their father?

“Demon Lord, it seems we need to synchronize our information.”

“That seems to be the case. Would you mind explaining?”

I then explained everything from how I came to the demon realm, met Sara, escorted her to the Demon Lord’s city, cured Sanya’s mysterious illness, and how I had to take them to my headquarters in the human realm because it seemed like the Second Princess was planning another attack.

“Such things… I was unaware of all this. I doubted you without knowing, and I apologize.”

“No need to apologize. Without knowing the facts, your attitude is understandable, Demon Lord. Anyway, Sara and Sanya are safe, so the problem can be resolved by dealing with the Second Princess.”

“But, I can’t believe that Saniya is planning such a thing. She has always been a good and caring sister.”

With the misunderstanding cleared up, the conversation turned to the Second Princess, who was the mastermind behind this incident. However, it seemed that the Demon Lord, who had known her for a long time, couldn’t help but feel a sense of unease about the whole situation.

It crossed my mind that she might be under someone’s control, but without detailed information from my Super Analysis, it was hard to dismiss the possibility that something had changed within her.

If there was a mastermind behind this incident, the most suspicious candidate would be Gregory, one of the Seven Demon Generals. I didn’t know why he was supporting the Second Princess, but he might have his own hidden agenda.

“For now, that’s all the information I have.”

“I see, understood. I know this is late but my name is Belial.”

“I’m Rolando. As you can see, I’m a human and usually work as an adventurer.”

With information sharing with the Demon Lord completed, he introduced himself. It suddenly occurred to me that we hadn’t exchanged introductions earlier, so I reciprocated.

I had conveyed what needed to be communicated to the Demon Lord, but I needed to think about our plans moving forward. For now, with the Demon Lord present, I asked him, as the responsible party, what he intended to do.

“So, is it okay to kill the Second Princess?”

“Absolutely not! She’s my daughter!”

“Then, what do you plan to do with the Second Princess this time?”

“Well…”

The Demon Lord seemed uncertain about how to handle the Second Princess. Frustrated with his indecision, I pressed further.

“Is she to be eliminated, then after all?”

“Why are you so bloodthirsty? Can’t we find a more peaceful solution?”

“It’s quite odd to hear the word ‘peace’ coming from the Demon Lord.”

“And it’s quite odd to hear words like ‘kill’ and ‘exterminate’ coming from a human like you.”

We both found each other’s statements unsettling, but sometimes, as a king, you had to make harsh choices to save the many, even if it meant sacrificing a few. Alright, it was time to teach the Demon Lord what it meant to be a king.

“Demon Lord, at times, a king must make cruel decisions, sacrificing a few to save many.”

“It sounds like you’re saying something wise, but this problem can be resolved without killing!”

“Tch, caught on, huh? Surprisingly clever.”

“Rolando-dono, are you really a human? I’d find it more believable if they said you were a secret child of the demon race…”

Despite the rude remarks, my parents were indeed pure humans, albeit from a noble lineage.

After our discussion, we decided not to kill the Second Princess but to apprehend her. However, a new problem arose from this decision.
