76 – How To Deal With a Naughty Kid

Translator: tamago

Happy Holidays everyone!!

The water room was on the ground floor. There were not many people lining up at this time, so it wouldn’t take too much time to go there and back.

But Xu Xiran came back faster than Fang Mo imagined.

After pushing open the door, he craned his neck and glanced in Fang Mo’s direction, then put the hot water bottle on the ground, and shook his hand unnaturally.

“Where’s your cup? I’ll help you pour out some water to let it cool,” he said to Fang Mo.

Fang Mo frowned and looked at him: “What happened to your hand?”

“It’s fine,” Xu Xiran looked around the room as he spoke, and quickly found Fang Mo’s cup on his desk, and began to pour water.

Fang Mo felt that his movements seemed unnatural, and sat up in concern.

“Did you burn yourself?” he asked.

Xu Xiran poured the water, put down the cup and the thermos, and quickly walked to the bathroom.

“It’s not serious. I’ll rinse it a bit and I’ll be fine.”

Fang Mo wanted to get out of bed and follow him to take a look. Before he put on his slippers, when Xu Xiran heard a sound, he poked his head out of the bathroom: “Just lie down, okay?”

“…Why are you so careless?” Fang Mo complained softly.

“There was something wrong with the hot water faucet. It was spurting water,” Xu Xiran said.

Fang Mo thought to himself, was it not that you were too anxious? He felt a bit of regret. Xu Xiran’s anxiety was nothing more than being overly caring, but he himself was clearly faking it, and Xu Xiran actually got burned. He wanted to get up and care for him, but was afraid that Xu Xiran would think that he was being naughty and get upset.

As he sat on the edge of the bed and debated for a while, Xu Xiran had already come out. When he saw him, as expected, he frowned.

“Lie back down,” Xu Xiran stretched out his hand to instruct him, “Why are you only in your pajamas on such a cold day? See, your buttons are not even buttoned properly.”

After he said this, he quickly walked to the bed and reached out both his hands at Fang Mo.

To have the button by his chest be impatiently fixed by the one he was passionately in love with was surely an exciting moment. Fang Mo’s heart skipped a beat, and he watched as Xu Xiran helped him button up the top button.

Ai, my flat chest is really not attractive to this die-hard otaku, Fang Mo thought in sadness.

When Xu Xiran finished buttoning him, he then wanted to tuck him into the bed. Fang Mo found an opportunity and began to act. He took Xu Xiran’s hand which had just been in cold water, and deliberately rubbed it with his face.

“Your hand is so cold, it feels so nice to touch.”

Xu Xiran became a little stiff and didn’t say anything.

Fang Mo raised his hand again, grabbed his hand, and looked at it carefully: “Where did you get burned? Can I see?”

“It’s just a little bit, you can’t really tell anymore,” Xu Xiran said.

“I can see it,” Fang Mo grabbed his index finger, “Here, it’s still red.”

The side of the first knuckle of Xu Xiran’s index finger had a very unnatural color, and there wasn’t a blister but it seemed slightly swollen. Looking at it made his heart hurt.

“It doesn’t hurt,” Xu Xiran said, “Go and lie back down.”

Fang Mo quickly raised his eyes to look at him, then lowered his eyes, and slowly approached his fingertip, stuck out his tongue, and gently licked the part that got burned.

Xu Xiran visibly shivered.

Fang Mo also felt nervous. Without looking at Xu Xiran, he carefully and slowly licked the faintly red part with the tip of his tongue a few times. Seeing that Xu Xiran didn’t move, he then opened his mouth and put his entire knuckle inside. He wrapped his lips around his finger, and quietly moved his tongue around, circling around the wound and the licking tip of his finger again. Xu Xiran still didn’t move, so he became more bold and intentionally pursed his lips to lightly suck, making a subtle sound, and then opened his mouth again to suck it in deeper.

At this moment, Xu Xiran withdrew his hand.

“You’re sick, so just calm down a bit,” he put his hands behind his back and looked at Fang Mo with a wry smile, “Go lie down.”

Fang Mo bit his lip and looked at him without moving.

Xu Xiran seemed exasperated and coaxed him in a quiet voice: “Behave now. What if your fever gets worse?”

After saying this, he wanted to tuck Fang Mo into the blanket but encountered soft yet resilient resistance.

Fang Mo moved back and forth, refusing to cooperate. Xu Xiran didn’t dare to use force either, and couldn’t get him inside, so he could only lift up the blanket. At this moment, Fang Mo suddenly became honest.

He was afraid that the hand warmer in the blanket would accidentally get exposed, so he shrank into the blanket while begging in a low voice: “Can you kiss me again?”

Xu Xiran smiled and shook his head, but still quickly bent down. He probably wanted to kiss Fang Mo’s forehead, so upon seeing this, Fang Mo tried his best to raise his face, so that he could accidentally kiss his lips instead. Xu Xiran noticed and followed suit with him.

Soon, one touch was not enough. They have had so many similar kisses in this span of time that it had almost become a part of their physical reflex. Fang Mo quickly pulled his arm out of the blanket, put his arms around Xu Xiran’s neck, and pulled his body down.

“Wait,” Xu Xiran’s words were stuck to his lips, “My waist is about to break, let me get up.”

That would not be good, so Fang Mo had no choice but to let go.

He released Xu Xiran’s neck, quickly grabbed onto his hand, and lightly shook it: “I don’t want to sleep alone.”

Xu Xiran sighed: “I’ll sit next to you to accompany you.”

“Lie next to me and accompany me.” Fang Mo said.

Seeing Xu Xiran raise his eyebrows, he quickly added: “I promise I won’t get touchy, let’s just lie here together.”

Xu Xiran still didn’t move, so Fang Mo spoke again: “I’ll be very well-behaved. I feel dizzy and unwell and I want you to accompany me.”

“Turns out you become this clingy when you’re sick,” Xu Xiran said softly.

Seeing the way how he was looking at him, Fang Mo knew that he was halfway through success. He continued his efforts: “I’m not clingy, just clingy to you.”

Xu Xiran suddenly turned his head away from him. After his eyes swept around dormitory, he seemed to have found something, and said, “Do you want some hot water?”

Not this again! Fang Mo felt a little mad. However, Xu Xiran didn’t notice at all, and took out his hand and walked quickly to the table, brought back the cup of hot water, stood by the bed, blew on it lightly, and took a sip.

“It’s not hot anymore,” he said to Fang Mo, “Once you drink it and sleep, you’ll feel better when you sweat it out.”

“I don’t want to drink!” Fang Mo turned his head awkwardly, “Unless you sleep here with me.”

Xu Xiran looked down at him, nodded, and said, “Okay.”

Xu Xiran was very trustworthy. Fang Mo obediently drank the water, and Xu Xiran took off his shoes and coat and lay down next to Fang Mo. Fang Mo opened the blanket and dragged him in. He hesitated for a moment, but did not resist.

Unfortunately, his sincerity was soon betrayed, and Fang Mo’s promise was of no use whatsoever.

“I’m just hugging you a little, this can’t also be considered touchy,” Fang Mo twisted his words to force logic, “Aren’t you my boyfriend? Is it not okay to hug?”

Xu Xiran was being entangled by him like an octopus, rendering him unable to move, and he asked, “If your roommate comes back and sees us like this, wouldn’t it look weird?”

“They won’t, they have class today until evening,” Fang Mo said.

After he said this, the air fell into silence.

Fang Mo felt guilty: “That’s just a coincidence!”

Xu Xiran turned his head a little and gave him a strange look.

In order to interrupt Xu Xiran’s train of thought, Fang Mo immediately leaned over to kiss him. Xu Xiran once again cooperated, and as they kissed, Fang Mo’s hands began to roam again.

Xu Xiran unexpectedly did not resist. This went to Fang Mo’s head, and just as he was about to unbutton him, he heard Xu Xiran suddenly ask him: “What is this?”

Fang Mo pulled away from him a bit, and immediately saw the white thing held in Xu Xiran’s hand.

It was an already heated hand warmer that was originally intended to prevent problems before they happened, but had not been used so far.

“I…” Fang Mo’s eyes wandered, “I’m afraid of the cold, so I stuffed it under the blanket.”

Xu Xiran frowned, reached out to touch his forehead, and said, “You don’t feel that hot now.”

“I’ve been out of the blanket for too long,” Fang Mo racked his brains to find an excuse, “I’ll be hot after a while.”

“You just drank hot water, right?” Xu Xiran said again, “Why isn’t the temperature in your mouth higher than mine?”

Fang Mo was alarmed. This guy, who had been tasting him so passionately, turned out to have ulterior motives!

“Do you really want me to have a high fever?” He retorted.

“Why would I?” Xu Xiran propped himself up a bit, picked up the thermometer from the side, shook it with force, and handed it to Fang Mo, “Can you measure it again?”

“…I don’t want to,” Fang Mo turned his head.

Xu Xiran didn’t make a sound. Fang Mo took a peek and found that he was still holding the thermometer, looking at him expressionlessly.

“What are you doing? I’m feeling unwell and you’re being so mean to me.” In order to vindicate himself, he forcibly seized the moral high ground. “Do you have any bit of sincerity towards me?”

Xu Xiran took his hand and stuffed the thermometer into his palm: “I do, but I don’t like people lying to me.”

Fang Mo’s heart dropped.

“Are you doubting me…” He was guiltily still trying to be brave.

“If I wrongly accuse you, I’ll apologize immediately, and I’ll make it up to you any way you want,” Xu Xiran said, “I am trustworthy.”

Seeing him like that, Fang Mo was unable to find a way out, so he sat up obediently and put the thermometer in his mouth.

Three minutes felt like an eternity. He felt like he couldn’t take it anymore, and was annoyed that Xu Xiran was suddenly so shrewd at this kind of time, and hated that he was unable to get the point. He was in regret for a while, and felt bad for himself that even after going to such lengths, he still couldn’t get what he wanted.

He was also in a panic. If Xu Xiran found out that he had been lying to him ever since they got close, would he get so mad that he’d want to break up?

As he thought about it, he felt grieved, and the rims of his eyes turned red.

The bastard Xu Xiran, who had clearly already won, still seemed serious, for what?

“Hey,” Xu Xiran suddenly panicked, “What’s the matter, you… are you not?”

Fang Mo turned his back to him. It was embarrassing to shed tears over this kind of thing.

“Nevermind,” Xu Xiran’s attitude softened all of a sudden, “I won’t take your temperature anymore. If you feel uncomfortable, just have some good rest. I’ll accompany you, okay?”

Fang Mo adapted to this turn of events. Xu Xiran backed down, and he immediately took the stick, and quickly pulled the thermometer out of his mouth. But just as he was about to flick it away to destroy the evidence, Xu Xiran snatched it away.

Xu Xiran jumped off the bed, raised the thermometer, looked out the window, and quietly read, “36.8 degrees.”

Fang Mo’s eyes were still wet, and he shrunk his neck, lowered his eyes and muttered: “You set me up.”

Xu Xiran didn’t know whether to laugh or cry: “What’s going on? You still feel wronged, don’t you?”

Fang Mo lowered his head, pursed his mouth, and whispered, “…I’m sorry.”

“I really don’t like being lied to,” Xu Xiran said.

Fang Mo remained silent.

“You just really want to… do that with me, don’t you?” Xu Xiran asked again.

Not only were Fang Mo’s eyes red, but his face was also red.

~

People with moles at the corners of their eyes indeed really love to cry.

Xu Xiran occasionally felt conflicted. He liked seeing Fang Mo looking teary-eyed, but he couldn’t bear watching him cry.

He walked to the bed again, reached out his hand, straightened Fang Mo’s face, and then used his fingers to wipe away the few tears that had just fallen from his eyes.

Fang Mo took care of his face every day, and it really did do him a favor. It felt soft and slippery, and as soon as he touched it, he couldn’t bear to move away.

“It’s not that I won’t,” Xu Xiran said to him.

Fang Mo’s eyes widened slightly.

“…But not today,” Xu Xiran said again, “Doing it in the dorm can’t be good, right?”

Seeing that Fang Mo hesitated to speak, Xu Xiran added: “I am a person who keeps my word.”

Then he made up his mind.

As soon as Fang Mo started crying, Xu Xiran felt that he really was too much of a gong, and that there simply was no reason for him to be the one underneath. But there were some things that cannot be justified even with no reason. Fang Mo was so cute, so there couldn’t be anything wrong if he just let him. When two people get along well, they are bound to make compromises for each other. So if Fang Mo thought that way, and he was still unwilling, that would just be too heartless.

Fang Mo nodded, pursed his lips, and his gaze drifted to a strange place again.

“Then… do you have a deposit?” He asked.

Xu Xiran thought to himself, no, he needs discipline1. If he didn’t establish some authority for himself, he would definitely have a hard time in the future.

As soon as his face sunk, Fang Mo immediately fell into a panic. Maybe this strategy could prove to be useful.

Xu Xiran cleared his throat, “I can do that. But… do you think I’ve already cooled my temper?”

Fang Mo stepped back a little, looked up at him, and carefully observed his expression.

“If there’s a deposit, I should be the one collecting it,”  Xu Xiran said again.

He couldn’t be the only one to make sacrifices. He was already making such a big concession, so he had to get some benefit out of it. Fang Mo looks pretty well-behaved now, so maybe this was a good opportunity.
