Chapter 13

After school, Hasuike, Yukishiro-san and I meet at the flower bed behind the school for one purpose.

We need somewhere hidden, where no one else can find us by chance. As a matter of fact, I don't think our classmates are on our side anymore after everything that has happened.

In homeroom, our teacher handed everyone a piece of paper and said the following words:

"After having a discussion with Yukishiro-san, she has admitted to being the bully. But that's not the end of that. Since all of you know of the report, we all need your cooperation. As you can see, I handed all of you a form that has questions about bullying. Please fill it out to the best of your abilities. As I have said in the morning homeroom, if the case is not resolved, the outdoor classroom will be cancelled. Having said that, it would be best for all of you to help us out so we can resolve everything cleanly."

Basically, if we don't acknowledge the fact that Yukishiro-san was the perpetrator, then the outdoor classroom will likely be cancelled. I know everyone is whispering why they are involved in this incident when it doesn't involve them. It seems like the teacher's actions have caused a massive rift in the classroom.

The teacher really is useless and we probably can't ask her for help. We have to rely on ourselves to get through this. I share my opinion with Hasuike and he agrees.

"I don't think our teacher really cares. She really is repeating the cycle, since in a way, she's also bullying Yukishiro-san."

Hasuike responds.

"Sorry you two, I didn't want to get you two involved in this mess..."

"Don't worry, we know Yukishiro-san did nothing wrong. We just need to collect evidence and dispel these false accusations."

"Yeah, thanks..."

Yukishiro-san doesn't really seem much better, but she does give a weak smile. I swear I will make Yukishiro-san happy again, her smile will return.

"Okay first off, it would be ideal to ask the teacher who she got the letter from, but our teacher probably won’t help us. We need to know the sender."

"Yeah... while Daidouji-san could have wrote the initial letter, someone else probably delivered it from her house to school."

"Yep. They could have swapped the name to Yukishiro-san. That would be pretty troublesome."

I'm stroking my chin as I hear Hasuike talk. But we have no third party evidence, so things would not settle so easily here. It's possibly that Erika Daidouji mistook Yukishiro-san as her bully. If the names weren't changed, there has to be a reason why Daidouji thought Yukishiro-san was the one.

In any case, it would be best to hear from Erika Daidouji herself.

"Let's give Daidouji a visit. Pretty sure her address is in the class registry."

I see Yukishiro-san flinch a little as I say that.

"You know... I said I never bullied her, but I feel a little anxious saying that. There could be a chance that I hurt her without my knowledge. I never talked to her. but there is a chance that could be the case. So... I would like to talk to her directly if possible."

If they never talked, is it even possible to raise a case against Yukishrio-san? Even so, we have to take Yukishiro-san words into account too.

Anyways, we find ourselves at Erika Daidouji’s house...

I was worried that someone else would answer and we would be turned away, but it turned out Daidouji answered the intercom.

"Please go away. I heard that you said you didn't bully me in front of the class. However, every day, you tortured me with painful words."

"Huh?"

"I won't recognize your apology until you apologize in front of the whole class."

And with her imposing tone of voice, Daidouji cuts off the intercom. Hasuike and I look at each other and Yukishiro-san has an expression of shock on her face.

Something definitely is up. Why does she want us to apologize in front of the whole class? She doesn't want Yukishiro-san to apologize to her, but the whole class instead? What the hell? This whole situation, it really is messing with my mind.

Then, I feel weird chills up my spine again. It's the same feeling I had before I left the karaoke place. I turn back and see the same silhouette I saw before in the alley.

"Sorry, there's something I need to check quickly."

I say that to Hasuike and Yukishiro-san before sprinting off. I manage to catch up and see a figure retreating. I speed up and seize it with my arm.

"Hrgh..."

That figure lets out a pained breath as I restrained them. The figure looks at me.

That disgusting smile never changed. My suspicions were correct.

Hanabi is the one behind everything.

"What the fuck are you doing here Hanabi!?"

"Oh how scary. Do you want me to reply, Senpai?"

Several seconds earlier, when I saw Hanabi's figure I could feel my heart pound, I really wasn’t prepared for this. Somehow, Hanabi is wrapped in this mess with Daidouji. Even so, this is not a coincidence at all and yet, Hanabi has the gall to act so cocky.

"You really were chasing after me so vigorously. It's almost like you're implying your life is so lonely without me. You can't stand another day without me? You really are so helpless Senpai. But don't worry, I really am so kind. I'll forgive if you apologi-"

"Hell no."

"Huuuh..."

"That's not what I'm asking about. Our class is in an uproar because of a bullying incident. Are you involved somehow?"

Hanabi looks me dead in the eyes and pulls her mouth back into a warped smile.

"Ahahahahahaha!! What kind of question is that?"

She averts her gaze again. Seems like that's all she's willing to say. Oh well, it's what I expected.

Seems like Hanabi really is pulling the strings somehow. Now, what should I do?
