Chapter 1: Nice to Meet You and Greetings

Episode 10: The Two-Rider Event

And Saturday arrived

It was the day that Cheena and I are gonna buy swimsuits.

I woke up at 5:30 a.m. and went for a run on the beach as always.

Since we still had some time before our appointment, I went to the recreational gym and joined a group of military guys playing basketball and worked out for an hour straight.

It’s been a long time since I’ve had a chance to hang out after work since I’ve been so busy with Cheena.

Then I went home, took a shower, changed my clothes and ate my breakfast.

Today I wore black skinny jeans, a plain white short-sleeved T-shirt, and a necklace.

“Iori has a great build, so simple clothes look great.”(E/N: Great build or good body.)

I’ve been wearing those kinds of clothes a lot since Angie told me before.

I don’t know much about fashion, to be honest, I’m a bit lazy.

I had just finished my breakfast when

Gacha!

With a sigh, I opened the door and Cheena walked in.

I felt happy and a little nervous, but also wondered why she had already mastered using the duplicate key to go into my room.

The time was just before 10 a.m.

“Good morning, Yori. Have you been exercising again today?”

“Good morning. Yeah, since there was still time i figured i should do a little exercise.”

I’m used to greeting people in the morning.

Today, Cheena was wearing a slightly large greenish brown t-shirt, with denim shorts peeking out from underneath.

She has a body bag around her shoulders and under her armpits, and in general, her outfit looks simple and easy to move around in.

Even though it’s simple, it looks really good on her and she’s cute.

However, there was one thing that bothered me.

“Why did you bring your helmet?”

That’s right. For some reason, Cheena was carrying a white jumper with black lines on it under her arm.

“You need a helmet to ride a motorcycle, right?”

Eh? Cheena said as if it was obvious.

She hadn’t said anything about transportation, but I had assumed it would be the bus, since I thought the only option was the bus.

“But you said you were going by bike, Cheena, do you have a bike?”(E/N: Well this is literally normal knowledge but i will still say it, bike can also mean motorcycle they use this word to make it easier to say and in this case if you are thinking about the thin kind of bike it’s called a bicycle.)

Yes, Cheena didn’t have a motorcycle.

At least, that’s what I thought.

But now that Cheena had brought her helmet, she might actually be in a position to ride.

“No, I don’t have one. I’m not even sure if I have a license.”

That’s right.

Even if she had gotten a license in Russia, it would be useless here, and it would be practically impossible to get one after she came here.

So, the only possibility left is …

“You weren’t planning to ride with me, were you?”

“… Of course I am, it’s okay right??”

Seriously?

It’s possible, yes.

But it’s not good.

“Hey, hey. Like I said before, all men are animals. …”

“Yori is different.”

“How?”

For some reason, the denial came immediately.

It’s honestly nice to be trusted, and it doesn’t mean that Cheena has zero personal area.

At school, she always kept a certain distance from boys who approached her with a smirk and an affectionate smile, and she also said that she was psychologically uncomfortable.

It may be that they have been evaluated as “I’m fine”.

I felt embarrassed.

And to tell the truth, it was a bit of a hassle to get to the shopping mall, since we had to take several buses.

Well, if Cheena insists, I’ll just have to live with it.

Can we make it work? Definitely.

“Sigh, okay. Let’s take the bikes.”

“Okay! Then let’s get going!”

As soon as I gave my permission, Cheena started rushing me.

Her voice was brighter than usual.

“You’re very excited today. What’s up?”

“I’ve always wanted to ride a bike. This helmet was given to me by Angie because she didn’t use it.”

There you go, Angie. I’m not a fan of your crude imitation of …

This is the only situation in which you would need a helmet.

Sighing lightly, I put on my body bag and grabbed my bike keys.

After letting Cheena put on a light jacket, I left the room and went down the elevator to the parking lot outside.

As I stepped onto my bike, which was covered in deep green camouflage, Cheena, wearing a helmet, called out for help.

“Yori, my legs I can’t … get on …”

She’s really sluggish.

She can’t reach her feet.

It’s not surprising that Cheena has trouble getting on the bike since she’s small.

“First, put your foot on it, and then, look.”

With my help, Cheena managed to get on the back.

And then she puts her hands around my waist.

———!

The moment she touched my waist, my heart’s BPM jumped up.(E/N: Wanna know what it means? sounds hilarious even I was confused but its beats per minute without remembering it it feels like it’s created for this purpose right? hahaha anyway.)

My heart was racing for a while like I was running 10km straight without any break.

A hint of body heat coming from my back, a discreet but definitely soft touch.

My head feels like it’s about to pop.

I don’t want to drive like this.

I took a few deep breaths and then tried to keep my breathing as steady as possible.

My attention successfully shifted from my back to my breathing, and I calmed down.

“Then let’s get going.”

“Okay!”

We revved the engine, left the parking lot, and hit the road.

The motorbike shook unexpectedly as we started, and Cheena tightened her arms around me.

I’m gonna crash! I’m gonna die!

Come on, man! Hang in there!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Here we are.”
I managed to arrive at the shopping mall.
I got used to it, but it was still not good for my mental health.
I’m really tired.
I wanted to relax first.
“It was fun. Bikes are great, Yori.”
Cheena was still a little excited when she got off the bike.
I think my face is a little red.
Oh, our eyes met … and she looked away.
I’m not sure. It’s okay.
“I’m not sure what to do. It’s hot today, so let’s take a break.”
“Yeah, right.”
If she got sick from touring under the blazing sun, she wouldn’t be able to go swimming.
We went to a coffee shop in the mall, ordered a cold drink, and took a break.
A/N: When I think of early morning beach running, I think of the Battle of Los Angeles.
I love that movie so much.
(T/N: ‘Battle of Los Angeles’ is a sci-fi action film by The Asylum which premiered on March 12, 2011 and released on DVD on March 20, 2011.
It is a movie about aliens attacking Los Angeles rotating around the characters Lt. Solano, Marine Lt. Tyler Laughlin, and special agent Karla Smaith. It shows how these characters bravely fight their way to save Los Angeles from the alien attacks, as well as the whole world.)
