Episode 22: Pairing Up part 1

Saturday.

Today I’m on my way to the mall with Cheena and Angie.

Of course, Angie is driving.

After spending a month in Japan, Cheena was starting to lack some things.

Angie also had some things she wanted to buy for her long stay here in Japan.

“But why are you bringing me along? It’s a rare opportunity for you and your child to get to know each other better.”

“What are you talking about? It’s more fun when Iori is around, right?”

“Yes. I can’t start without Yori.”

I propped my elbows up on the slight protrusion that held the glass in place and gazed blankly out, speaking in Russian, which had become my standard.

After spending some time like this, we arrived at the mall.

Our car was parked in the familiar parking lot, and the three of us entered the mall.

But today, things were a little different.

“Aren’t there a lot of people here?”

Yes, there were a lot more people than usual today. You’ll easily bump with other people in here.

What’s going on?

“It’s the biggest sale of the year, that’s why.”

Angie seemed to know the reason and explained it to me as we made our way through the crowd.

That explains why there were so many people.

“But there’s just too many of them. We have to be careful not to get separated…”

…….

We got separated.

“Angie’s got lost in seconds! I’m going to the lost child center to find her and embarrass myself!”

“Mid-thirties, Miss Angelina. Your companion is waiting for you.”

No, Angelina-chan must’ve done this on purpose no need to worry about that woman she might be sly and an airhead but she’s an adult.

“Yori, are you mad at me?

“…I’m not serious. Come on, let’s go. We can go shopping without Angie.”

Even though we got separated, Cheena and I were still together.

The only thing missing was Angie, which doesn’t interfere with the shopping.

Are you saying we’re the ones who got lost? No. Justice is served to the many.

I don’t want to waste any more time, so I tried to walk away.

But the process of finding Angie was stopped by the crowds.

There were too many people. We could get lost in this.

It’s not yet New Year, but there were lots of people.

We need to move properly without getting separated here.

“Let’s see what we can do…”

“You want to hold hands?”

“Hmm- yeah, that’s right. Then you won’t get lost, wait are you really sure about this?”

I was surprised to see that Cheena had a slightly challenging, yet embarrassed expression on her face.

No, what kind of expression is that?

“Hey Cheena, I’m seriously going to hold your hand…”

“Oh, is that okay? I’m not tall, it will be difficult if we get separated, right?”

“Oh, well… I understand. Here.”

Cheena, when did you learn to be devious?

(T/N: Iori, Cheena is shy okay? Let her be ah. Aww, our main characters were so adorable [bunny hopping] )

It’s also true that you can’t move properly as it is.

I couldn’t say no anymore, so I threw my left hand out to her, and she giggled and grabbed it.

Like how couples hold hands.

What? Why? Why doesn’t she just connect it like normal? Is this normal in Russia?

I was confused by the suddenness of the situation. Then, one guess came to my mind.

Could it be that Cheena is talking about me…?

Such an outrageous fantasy came to my mind, and I hurriedly looked at Cheena’s face.

“What are you doing, let’s go!”

Quickly, Cheena started to walk.

“Hey! Don’t pull!”

I think I forgot about something earlier, but oh well.
