Chapter 105: Heartbroken (4)

"Why did you do that?"

"What do you mean?"

Gloriosa confronted Hancock when she was walking through the hallways, back to her room.

The Snake Empress continued walking, not stopping to talk to her predecessor, forcing the old lady to follow behind.

"This would cause the break of your friendship with him."

"...."

Hancock didn't stop walking, instead choosing to laugh.

"What friendship? We had a deal. He will heal my mark, and I will let his crew go. There was no friendship. In fact, I went beyond that and let him stay in my palace for one more day.”

The old lady appeared angry at that. While Gloriosa got annoyed quite easily, anger was rare for her. She growled at Hancock while pointing her stick.

"Are you stupid?! Alright, fine, if you are talking about the deal, was it not to simply heal you? Yet, hadn't he healed your sisters too? Does that not count?"

Hancock stopped on this, frowning and turning to glare down at the woman. She hesitated in her head before she spoke out loud.

"Why do you act as if you don't know why I am doing this?!"

"I am not acting that way; you are just being childish. He has women he loves, so accept that fact and move on, why must you ruin the friendly relationship you already have with him?!"

"...."

Hancock continued staring down at the woman, but she just stared back. The old lady was as stubborn as her in her younger days, and Hancock could see a glimpse of that right now.

In the end, her lips shivered as her eyes teared up.

"But I… don't want him to just be my friend."

Hearing that, the old woman scoffed. Her expression said, 'There you go.' The old lady's next words were firm, she got stubborner seeing her tears.

"Then what do you want him to be?"

"I don't know. No… I… I do know, but he already…"

"What do you know? Say the words. In what way do you want him?"

Hancock averted her gaze, looking to the side.

"Hancock, you ate the Love Love Fruit. I refuse to believe you don't understand what you're feeling right now."

"...."

"Say it, in what way do you want him?"

Hancock looked back at Gloriosa's eyes, suddenly they were much gentler now.

"I…" Hancock hesitated. "I want him to be mine, in the same way the Princess and the Cook already do."

"But you can't have him on your own, you already know that. They do too, that is why they were sharing him."

"...."

How funny.

The World's Most Beautiful Woman and she couldn't even have a man only for herself?

Hancock suddenly realized that it was her pride that made her react this way. Being the high value woman that she was, she hadn't even had such a thought as to share him with others.

Because that just seemed not right.

Gloriosa, on the other hand, had come to realize what sort of man Hashirama was. He already had two pretty women, but he still fucked around with anybody he saw in the streets. Indeed, he was for the streets, and in any other situation, Gloriosa would never want her…. Great-granddaughter to be with such a man.

Sadly, the Snake Empresses perhaps were cursed. Cursed to be with men just like this; for example, Gloriosa's own daughter was with a man like that.

Seriously, what did Shakuyaku see in that old Rayleigh?

Regardless, Gloriosa had seen with her own two eyes that choosing a man like that was not the worst fate. Sure, the Empress became a bit reckless in that scenario, but their life became a lot better, plus Hashirama was strong too. She could easily see Hashirama reach Rayleigh's prime strength one day, if not beyond that.

"Hancock,"

Gloriosa still couldn't believe what she was about to say, but she said it anyway.

"It's not like you to give up like this. To go down without a fight. So what if he already has two, if not more, what are they to you? You are better than anyone else, no? Go and claim him, make him yours. Ah, of course, don't directly fight his lovers, that'd make him mad, that's not what you want, right? After all, from what I saw, he is pretty mad at you already."

Hancock froze at the last line. She had expected that, based on his gaze, but it hit her harder hearing it from Gloriosa.

"Look, I don't understand men of this generation, but you already blundered once. I doubt he would even forgive you for being so petty and ungrateful, let alone love you back, so maybe this talk was a waste of ti-"

Before Gloriosa could finish, Hancock killed the ground and jumped through the window nearby. Just as she wanted.

This room was high from the ground, tens of floors above, but she kicked the air, performing a personalized version of [Moon Walk], and rushed towards the dock.

* * *

The crew hadn't ever seen Hashirama get angry, except for a rare few times. Robin saw it a bit more than that, as he was angry with her, telling her how he once was eager to kill her.

Today it wasn't that bad. He couldn't be said to be angry or furious, he was just disappointed. Robin would say he felt as if his faith was broken.

She couldn't really understand why, neither could any of the others, given they hadn't seen him almost naked, resting on Hancock's arms and sharing stories for hours, but oh well. They were told to leave, and they were doing just that.

Right by the city, on the stream of water that was connected to the sea, the Sail of Ohara rested. Some of the girls were waving their hands at them, with some looking strangely regretful.

Their ship began to move, stirring in the water as Robin watched Hashirama control the ship with his energy. Just then, sharp kicking sounds came from afar, from the sky.

The crew turned, except for the captain who had his eyes closed to focus, and saw Boa Hancock flying in the sky.

Before anyone could understand what was going on, as she hadn't come to see them off, even when her two sisters had, the tall woman came crashing on the still unconcerned Hashirama.

Hashirama opened his eyes at the last moment, when his Haki warned him, but it was too late. Hancock crashed on him, sending him lying on the floor, as she had her arms by his side, looking as if she was pinning him down.

"..."

Hashirama's confused face turned to a deep scowl after a few seconds, as the panting Hancock froze. That expression stunned her, as she stuttered.

"I-"

"Can you get off me?"

Boa Hancock burst into tears when he spoke in a cold tone, and now it was his turn to be caught off guard.

All of the Senju Pirate crewmates were stunned, shocked why such a stoic and arrogant woman was suddenly crying, and so were the few Kuja tribe members who were seeing the scene from afar.

Some had climbed rooftops, with the two Boa sisters turning into large snakes to see from the sky, while a giant Kuja was gasping at the sight.

However, the proud Hancock didn't care.

"H-hey, stop crying!"

Hashirama yelled, surprised, as the tall woman cried and yelled sorry, her tears falling to his face, causing him to close his eyes.

"I understand! It's alright! Come on, stop crying!"

Hancock didn't stop until he truly did understand what she was trying to say.

In the end, he knew her from before coming to this world. She was not used to this sort of thing. It would be weird if she did everything right, but it counted when she realized her faults.

Hashirama stayed silent and brought her to a hug.

"Hancock, I understand… I really do."

She finally stopped when her face was on his chest, his arms tightly wrapped around her back, telling her that he was not letting her go.

Really, he would be stupider than her if he didn't try to understand her mind, even after hearing her entire story.

Only Robin sighed in mild annoyance, knowing another problem was being cooked, and all she could do was let it happen.
