An old wooden building appeared in a secluded spot in the middle of a plain. It was on the side of a road, so when a carriage passed by it, it stopped.
"Hm?" A girl with red hair said. Her equally red eyes stared at the sign on the building. "Yamato Inn?" It was written in the language of that world.
Standing next to the red-haired girl, a boy was paralyzed for a few seconds. He had seen buildings similar to this before.
'Isn't that a typical Japanese building?' In the world he was in before he was reincarnated, buildings were similar. There was no way he could be mistaken. Besides the structure, it also had the name 'Yamato'.
It was a Japanese name.
"Are you kidding..." The brown-haired boy said out loud.
"What is it, Rudeus?" The red-haired girl asked. "Want to see what's in there?" After the girl's question, a tall man approached carrying a huge spear. He was bald and wore a bandana to hide something on his forehead.
"Ruijerd?" The red-haired girl looked at him, confused.
"I'll take a look." The tall man stepped forward.
"Rudeus?"
"Let him do it, Eris. I'm sure it'll be fine." Rudeus completely ignored Eris' nervousness and let Ruijerd open the door to the building. And when it was opened, they heard a voice.
"Welcome!" It was a deep, attractive male voice. It was the voice of Nahida, who was at the reception.
Ruijerd was suspicious.
"What is this place? Why is an inn in this isolated place?" It was strange. It didn't make much sense since that place was considered dangerous for the human race.
And inside that building, there were only humans.
"It's just an ordinary inn. Would you like a room?" Nahida said with a smile on his face. Soon after, a blonde woman appeared.
"New customers?" She stared at Ruijerd and averted her eyes. She hadn't liked his appearance very much.
"Don't be rude, Shelly."
Ruijerd looked back and nodded to Rudeus and Eris, who entered the building and closed the door.
'Wow...' Rudeus thought. It was a Japanese building! It even had some things written in Japanese in a magazine at the reception. But even so, he didn't say anything about it.
Because he didn't want Eris and Ruijerd to know who he really was.
Rudeus looked into Nahida's eyes, and Nahida gave a smile.
"Welcome." Nahida put his hand on Rudeus' head, and Rudeus removed it from his head and walked to Ruijerd's side.
'Don't act like a child. You're an adult." Nahida thought. He didn't imagine he would see these three characters so soon. But it took a few days for that to happen; he hardly got any interesting guests.

Sitting at a table, Rudeus, Eris, and Ruijerd looked around, curious. Other guests on the tables were ready for lunch. There were five tables, and three were occupied.
Besides the table where the three of them were, there was a table occupied by two men, and only one man occupied the last.
"They're all human," Eris said in surprise.
Ruijerd analyzed the men. "They all look like merchants." Since the clothes they wore were not much different from those the merchants in his world wore, that was the conclusion Ruijerd came to.
And he was right.
"What happened, Rudeus?" Eris asked. Rudeus' expression was strange.
"It's nothing. I'm just curious about this place." He looked away and over at Nahida, who was serving one of the tables. 'He sure is Japanese despite the strange color of his hair.'
Nahida noticed Rudeus staring at him, so he approached.
"Would you like to order something to eat?" Since they were tired, Rudeus, Eris, and Ruijerd decided to stay a day in the hotel. So they paid for two rooms. However, they did not pay for food.
"?" Ruijerd looked at Rudeus and Eris.
"I'm hungry..." Eris said.
"All right, bring the same thing those guys are eating." It was chicken fillets.
"Do you even know what that is?" Eris asked.
"Yeah, I've had it before."
Nahida wrote the order and went to the kitchen. Lucky took the order and started preparing the three dishes. It went quickly. Once it was finished, Nahida served the three plates of food and stepped aside so they could eat in peace.
"Nahida, do you know them?"
"Yes, I know them. You see that little boy with brown hair."
"That boy who looked at me strangely?"
"Don't worry about him; he's quite perverted. He came from the same country as me despite his looks."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes. He is like Rimuru."
"I see..." Shelly didn't understand anything about reincarnation despite being a creation of the system, yet she pretended she had understood everything Nahida meant. She just nodded.
"All right, I will rest for a bit while they eat. Can you get the plates and clear the table when finished?"
"Okay, I'll do that."
"Tell the little brown-haired boy I want to talk to him later."
