After a brief moment of hesitation, Leviathan agreed to have someone retrieve the missing people for us. Turning back to look at her with a scowl on his face, Lucifer asked her what she was doing.

“Since when do you speak for our faction?”, Lucifer snapped as his magic aura started to leak out.

“Last I checked your prodigal son’s lab was in my territory not yours!”, Leviathan retorted with a growl, “Rizevim is a big boy, and can deal with Cole if he wants to dispute this. I don’t have any intention of dying anytime soon, clearly, you forgot he just killed you with a fucking book!”

Relieved to see that there was some sense among the Devil Kings, I hoped Leviathan and maybe another would heed my warnings. If I could get them to help prevent Lucifer’s future betrayal of the ceasefire agreement that would go a long way towards rebuilding their race. Even though I owed them no favors, I knew that a lot of civilians were going to die if nothing was done and I didn’t want to see that happen.

“Thank you Leviathan, I will give you some fine spirits as a thank you.”, I said trying to be friendly, “Now then, let’s get back to the Conference Hall to complete the ceasefire discussions.”

—Conference Hall—

Returning to the Conference Hall, Yasaka showed me where she’d been sitting. Unlike the comfortable seats that the Big Three Factions and Heavenly Pantheons had, the smaller factions were forced to use uncomfortable marble benches. Noticing that none of the representatives had brought something to cushion their butts, I felt a bit bad for the elderly and pregnant people among them.

“I am sorry the seating isn’t better…”, Yasaka said as we took our seats, “The smaller factions don’t get special treatment, we are fortunate to get proper seats at all. Last time they held discussions all of us were forced to sit in the mud.”

“That’s kind of screwed up, all that power and they can’t spare cushions for everyone.”, I sighed with annoyance, “As the Host of such an important discussion, the Devils should have made arrangements for this.”

Snapping my fingers, I changed the first few inches of marble into memory foam. Noticing the major difference immediately several representatives stood up to see what happened. Realizing that I had provided them with more comfortable seating, they thanked me for the kind gesture before settling back into the discussions. Turning our attention to the restarted talks, it quickly became apparent that we weren’t going to be going anywhere anytime soon.

“Does Lucifer pull this shit all the time?”, I inquired as I watched him demand unreasonable concessions from the other two factions.

“Unfortunately yes, Lord Lucifer sees these talks as a sign of weakness from the other two factions. In his mind, since they requested it, they will concede to his terms for peace.”, Yasaka informed me, “He’s been at this for almost ten hours today.”

Getting a better understanding of the type of man he was, Lucifer clearly didn’t want things to succeed here. Knowing that Lucifer desired to continue this war, it was likely the Pro-Peace faction of Devils had pushed him into this. Begrudgingly agreeing to it, as several prominent households wanted peace, he was doing everything he could to derail the ceasefire. To do that, he was trying to get a rise out of Azazel or the Biblical God so he could blame them for talks breaking down.

‘Your children might have been stupid enough to believe it…if some of them weren’t here in person.’, I thought looking at the Head of the Bael Family sitting close by him, ‘His biggest political adversary is sitting just feet away watching him do all of this. It’s no wonder the Bael Family was ready to take the reins when the Civil War started, they knew it was the only way to have peace.’

As I was about to start asking Yasaka a few questions about current world events, my phone started to vibrate. Pulling it out of my pocket to see who was calling, I saw Fuyumi’s number pop up on the display.

“Hello beautiful, what’s up?”, I asked as I answered the call, “Everyone make it through alright?”

“Other than a few scratches and bruises everyone is mostly fine.”, Fuyumi answered, “How did the battle go on your side?”

“I killed him and the apostles pretty easily, but now I got myself into a political mess in a different world.”, I chuckled, “We are currently sitting in ceasefire negotiations, hopefully, it won’t be too much longer.”

“If you can speed it up please do, Eri is about to burst into tears over your sudden, violent departure. Kota and Shino are trying to calm her down, but she keeps saying she wants her Daddy to come back.”, Fuyumi informed me with a sad tone, “She’s quite shaken up after seeing you fly off into the darkness like that. Rumi had to stop her from jumping through to chase after you.”

“She seriously almost did that!?”, I gasped in shock, “I told her to stay with all of you, but I guess her reaction is understandable given what happened. If she is up for it, I can make a portal for her to come join me here so she can calm down.”

Agreeing with my suggestion, Fuyumi called out to Eri and let her know I was coming to get her. Hearing something drop to the ground, Eri started calling out for me as Fiolials and her began running toward Fuyumi. Opening a portal for Eri to come through, she immediately lept through and into my awaiting arms.

“Daddy!!”, Eri cried as she gripped my shirt tightly with her little hands, “Don’t do that again, I was scared you wouldn’t come back!!”

“I am sorry I scared you.”, I apologized as I hugged her, “Your father is too strong for the Void to kill him, have a little faith in me.”

“Hehe!”, Eri giggled with relief as I wiped her tears away.

“Since we might be awhile Eri, do you want to play on my phone?”, I asked as I got comfortable again, “I know you love to play Sweet Pop.”

“You are the bestest Daddy ever!!”, Eri informed me as I handed her my phone and a snack.

Glancing over at Eri, Yasaka asked what she was doing on my phone. Telling her that she was playing video games on my phone, I inquired if she was interested in the game. Nodding her head, she informed me that they had nothing similar to that in the Human World and that she was taken in by the moving pictures Eri was matching.

“Does my communication device have things like that?”, Yasaka inquired as she pulled out her phone.

“No, but you can download them from the app store.”, I said pointing to the icon, “So here is what you need to do…”

Showing her how to access the app store, I took her to the Games section and let her browse for a few minutes. Selecting several games from the thousands available she tried out a few simple games like Checkers, Poker, and Connect Four which she immediately got hooked on. Falling miserably on the first few attempts, she asked me for instructions on how to play.

“Yes, how do you play them?”, Gabriel inquired floating behind us.

Curious about the game Eri was playing, as she had the volume on low, Gabriel had been drawn in by all the images on the screen and the sounds coming from the phone. Glancing up at the Biblical God for permission, as Gabriel was his daughter, he nodded his head with a grateful smile. With permission given, I started showing the two women how to play the games together.

—Two Hours Later—

Finally coming to an agreement on the terms of the ceasefire, the group shook hands and signed the relevant papers before parting ways. As promised, Leviathan’s subordinates arrived with Yasaka’s people much to her relief. Handing them over to us all of them ran over to hug Yasaka tightly as they began to cry. Thanking her for rescuing them from almost certain death, she informed them that it wasn’t her that did it.

“Our new Protector secured your release.”, Yasaka said motioning to me, “This is Cole and his daughter Eri, he is our new ally and protector.”

“Thank you, sir!!”, they said bowing their heads.

“I am glad all of you are alive and relatively unharmed.”, I stated with a smile, “I am sure all of you want to rejoin your families and friends, please hurry back to join them. Yasaka and I can discuss things further later on.”

Opening a Gate back to their village, the group thanked me one last time before returning home. Closing the portal behind them, I was going to head back when Gabriel started tugging on my jacket. Asking her if she needed something, she gave me an innocent smile and asked if she could have a phone to play games as well.

“Sure, I don’t mind.”, I replied making her one, “I am sure your Father will ask you to contact me at some point, just use the phone icon to call me.”

Showing her which icon was the phone, she nodded her head before flying off to so Michael her new toy. Now that no one was left to keep me here for today, I teleported back to the Resistance Capital to help with the refugees.
