—Several Hours Later, Melromarc Castle—

“Ten billion people are dead, the planet is completely frozen, and the Wave Controller is missing.”, I remarked with annoyance as I filled in everyone, “Whatever they used to attack their HQ was massive, the entire fortress was nothing more than a pile of rubble. Even after they wiped out the resistance, the Wild Hunt only took the device and left everything else behind. There were stacks of research notes, loot, and experimental weapons left in the Vault…”

“That is a good thing, right?”, Renjo remarked, “They took the Wave Controller, but left everything else for us to use. I mean, I know the Wave Controller was the most dangerous item but the other items were also dangerous right?”

“It is not that simple…”, L’Arc disagreed, “The Wild Hunt is a large military order, according to Cole, fighters need weapons to fight and you always want to have the best equipment available. If they left everything else behind, they either did not realize they were weapons or…”

“Or they found them to be inferior to what they already have.”, Zeldis stated with a scowl, “How deadly were the items left behind?”

Pulling out one of the Magic Rifles I found, I put several different types of ammo out for them to see. Each bullet had a different Elemental Enchantment allowing the user to adapt to various situations and enemies. Normally I would write it off as the Wild Hunt not knowing what a gun was, but I recalled that they had chased Ciri through the Cyberpunk World. With that in mind, there was no way they did not know what a gun was or how dangerous it could be.

Giving their Warriors a weapon like this would have resolved their weaker affinity for magic. They could have carried a few magazines of different ammo types and used them in combat in the event they fought a mage or their main weapon broke. Assuming they had another trick up their sleeve in place of a gun, I wondered if the Warrior I killed had such an item. Unfortunately, I did not look for any information on that or leave a corpse behind to investigate.

“This is quite troubling…”, Merlin acknowledged looking at the simplistic weapon, “A weapon like this could revolutionize the battlefield and make combat all the more deadly. Just think, a non-mage could suddenly carry an array of deadly spells that would be undetectable till impact. Even though they are not large-scale spells, the fact that the energy is condensed into a single point makes it far deadlier than normal.”

“That is only the tip of the iceberg, a rifle is a weapon that a commoner can be taught to use in a single day. They could be a beginner at dawn, but by dusk, they are decent marksmen.”, I pointed out as I examined the rifle’s rifling, “The rifling on this weapon means that it could theoretically be effective well over three thousand meters. If they ever developed armor-piercing rounds…common barriers would be useless moving forward.”

“Oh dear…”, Renjo said with a petrified look, “That does not bode well for us if they have something better. What should we do!?”

“Mass produce these weapons, hand them out to all our allies, and begin training soldiers and citizens to use them.”, I answered, “This is still a boon for us, it means we can increase our fighting capabilities as well. My craftsmen can work on the bullets and rifles, but that is only a stop-gap measure. Merlin, can you dig into the old fortress I captured several months ago? The Wave Organization managed to control a Wave from there so we might find clues in the fortress. At the very least, we need to devise a countermeasure to jam Waves from being created on specific worlds.”

Nodding her head, she turned to Escanor and told him to come with her. Doing as she asked without a word, the two of them promptly left to begin working. Asking the others to remain vigilant, I reminded them that the Wild Hunt may send scouts back here to find out what happened to the two Elves I killed.

“I have countermeasures in place on both worlds now, but it would be wise to still be cautious.”, I suggested, “Anyways Renjo, Faubrey is going to end up in a civil war if nothing is done. The remaining royals are sure to fight over the throne, and we do not have time to waste. I will ask the Naofumi and the other Heroes to go there to act as temporary leadership till a new King can be named. Can you have some backup arranged to support them in the shadows? Normally I would ask Mirellia, but now is not the time to burden her with this.”

“Understood, I will see to it they have ample assistance.”, Renjo agreed with a sympathetic smile, “What are you going to do now?”

“Find Ciri, the more she continues to run the more worlds will end up crumbling away into nothingness. I have two individuals in mind who might be able to assist me who live in the space between the worlds, but they are not necessarily known for being good company. Hopefully, they have come across her so we can minimize further casualties moving forward.”, I sighed as I got up, ‘I get to deal with a Goth Lolita and a Sleepy Dragon, yay me…’

—Yasaka’s Village—

Swing by the Head Village first to have the Dwarves look into mass-producing the Magic Rifles, I found Yasaka meeting with an unlikely group of people. Finding her talking over tea with Runeas, Serafall, and Lilith, the four of them seemed to be enjoying themselves which was a relief. That said, I could not help but notice that Serafall and Runeas were both wearing schoolgirl outfits from my world. Having seen plenty of them during our time in the arcade, I did not think they would replicate them in this world so soon.

‘I would have thought the magical girl outfits would have been the first clothing items replicated, not schoolgirl clothing.’, I thought realizing how uncomfortable it must be for Runeas.

“Oh!! It is Cole-chan!!”, Serafall shouted catching me out of the corner of her eye, “Why have you not come down to visit us again!? Do you secretly hate us or something? Levi-chan and Lili-chan are upset you know!”

Bashing Serafall on the head, Lilith told her to not call her Lili-chan as she was her elder and mother of their race. Rubbing her head with a tearful expression, Serafall ran over to me pretending to be actually hurt. Diving at me like a WWE wrestler, she slammed her shoulder into my gut forgetting that I was not a normal person. Hearing her shoulder crack loudly on impact, Serafall fell to the ground in genuine pain claiming that I was being ungentlemanly with her.

“Right…I made you throw yourself at me like a wrestler, real convincing.”, I sighed with a smirk on my face, “Give me a moment, I will patch you up.”

Thinking I was going to use normal magic on her, Serafall shouted at me to stop before I killed her. Disregarding her complaints, I healed her shoulder and told her to have a bit more faith that I knew what I was doing. Not feeling the usual pain that demonic entities felt when Healing Magic was used on them, she asked me how I did that. Telling her that I developed special Healing Magic for demonic people, I stated that I developed it especially for my troops during my stint as Demon King.

“Interesting, could you show House Sitri how to use it? It would go a long way to improving our own lives too.”, Lilith stated with a smile.

“Sure thing, so what is this I hear about missing me?”, I teased her, “Where are Leviathan and Misla?”

“Hehe, they are busy with the clothing line we started!”, Runeas bragged as she stood up.

Watching her bountiful chest bounce for a moment, I noticed that her buttons were barely hanging on for dear life. Recalling memes about this sort of thing, I wondered if buttons from the Underworld were specially made for the curvy women down there. Noticing my gaze, Runeas took it to mean I was intrigued by her outfit and explained what was going on.

“Since Levi-chan was basically flat broke, she decided to use the last remaining funds she had to start a clothing brand.”, Runeas said with excitement, “Serafall, Lilith, Misla, myself, and a few other women chipped in a bit to see what would happen. Not only did her line of clothing fly off the shelf, she is now almost built back half the wealth she once held. Oh course though this time around she is not a big meanie like she used to be.”

“That is good to hear, I assume Misla is assisting her?”, I asked.

“Yes, her family has benefitted greatly from the financial aid she had brought them. While they are not super wealthy, they are far better off now than they used to be.”, Lilith acknowledged, “So…are you here to check on your lover or does something else bring you here?”

Noticing the rifle slung over my shoulder, I could see she was interested in it. Since guns existed here, she probably knew what it was but was thrown off by the presence of magic in it. Walking back to the table with Serafall, I placed the rifle on the table and explained to them what I needed.
