While the Adventurers and Guild Staff were recovering from their near-death experience, I repaired the damage to the Guild Hall and altered their memories so they could not recall what happened. Confirming that there would be no lasting damage to anyone’s soul, I returned to my group and dispelled the barriers over them.

“Everyone alright?”, I inquired.

“All good here.”, Paul said, having already checked with everyone, “So, just to verify, that thing was something pretending to be the Human God? Where is the real one?”

“As I stated previously, the real Human God is dead and has been for tens of thousands of years now. Hitogami was the one who killed him taking his appearance, authority, and power in the process. Since taking his place, he has done nothing but sow chaos wherever he goes. He helped facilitate the destruction of several other worlds, which is why the Human World is populated by all races now. Back when Orsted was born, each race had their own world to live on.”, I informed him, “After he was finished destroying other worlds, he turned his attention to tormenting those living here now. Many of the tragedies that have befallen your world were caused by those in his service. Prime Minister Darius was one of those fools…”

“Wait…does that mean the Teleportation Tragedy was caused by Hitogami!?”, Paul shouted.

“Hitogami’s effects on this world are relegated to what his servants and those he possesses can do. The former Dragon God bound his physical manifestation to the space between the worlds so he could not directly come here.”, I told Paul, “From what I know, the Teleportation Event is the result of a Priestess’ actions in the distant future. If memory serves, she attempted to save a future Hero from dying and she used all of her magic to do so.”

“She must be incredibly powerful.”, Lilia commented.

“The Priestess was madly in love with the Hero and used everything she had to save him. Instead of simply reviving him, she attempted to rewrite history so he would never be in a life-or-death situation in the first place. Her brute force method was met with an equally powerful resistance from the world itself, but slowly the resistance waned till it could not suppress the power anymore. Unfortunately for all of you, it was all unleashed in the Teleportation Event.”, I explained.

“She must have loved him deeply to throw the world into chaos for him.”, Hilda said, with a content smile.

“I am sure she did.”, I agreed, “Now then, are you almost done with your letters Paul?”

“It will take a bit longer to finish, Magic Mail is expensive so I want to make sure they understand what is going on properly.”, Paul stated, “If you do not want to wait here, is there somewhere else you would rather wait?”

“How about we go to our house?”, Eri suggested, volunteering our home for the job.

Agreeing that our home was the best option, I opened a portal and told Paul we would be back in a few hours to join him. Telling his daughters to behave themselves, the rest of us shuffled through the portal and into our living room.

—Home—

Running to their room immediately, Eri and Lily beckoned Aisha and Norn to follow them. Looking back at Lilia for permission, their mother looked to me for permission. Nodding my head, I told Eri and Lily to not over do it with them.

“They are not familiar with our world, make sure you explain everything to them properly.”, I told them, not wanting them to get electrocuted or burned.

“Yes Daddy!”, Eri promised, “Come on, our room has lots of toys and games to play!”

“We even have unicorns and magic wands!”, Lily boasted, as Aisha and Norn ran upstairs with them.

“Oh! Oh! Can I go too?!”, Serafall inquired, giving me her best puppy dog impression.

“Cool it Serafall, you are not a child like the four of them…though no one could be blamed for mistaking you for one.”, Leviathan snickered.

Pulling out one of her magic wands from between her breasts, Serafall bashed Leviathan on the head with a scowl. Telling her that adults were allowed to act like children since being adults was hard, she turned to me to support her.

“Listen, I completely agree that letting your hair down sometimes is nice but you take it a bit far quite often.”, I said, much to Serafall’s dismay, “That said, your childlike demeanor is a refreshing breath of air to me. Having you around lightens even the darkest mood which is sometimes what I need in my life. You should be proud of who you are and not look for approval for your way of living. It is your life to live, so live it the way you want to.”

“Hehe, thank you Cole!”, Serafall replied, hugging me, “My parents were not wrong that you would understand me the best. So when are we getting married?”

“Hold on a second there!”, Leviathan spat, gripping Serafall by the shoulders, “Get in line, Lilith and I have first dibs!”

“You snooze you lose!”, Serafall remarked, sticking her tongue out, “I popped the question first so suck it!”

“This is a topic that we can bring up at a later date. I would need to talk to your parents first before proceeding.”, I stated, “You are the only heir to the Sitri Household right now so it is not that simple.”

“Stupid politics…”, Serafall complained, “Fine, I guess I can wait a bit…”

Letting go of me suddenly, Leviathan and Serafall fell to the ground in a heap. Shouting at Serafall to give her a warning before doing that, Serafall countered by saying it was Leviathan’s fault for trying to rip her off of me. Leaving the two of them to hash their dispute out, I offered Ghislaine and Hilda some oolong tea.

—3rd Person POV, Unknown World—

“I am back!”, the former God of Chaos proclaimed, “Your creations lasted thirty minutes this time before dissipating. Their power this time was a bit lacking, can you increase the output a bit more?”

“You are asking a lot of meager human souls…”, the former God of Reincarnation stated, before letting out a sigh, “Please take a seat, we need to discuss something important. A situation has arisen that we need to prepare for.”

“Let me guess, you got one of the servants knocked up again right? Just get rid of her like the others, we do not need brats running around here!”, Chaos spat.

“It is not that!”, the older deity sighed, “Hitogami died while you were out killing humans in the other world. All signs point to Cole killing him which means he is on our trail again.”

“Fucking hell…he just will not let things go will he!”, Chaos groaned, “We are in no shape to take him on, we are at a fraction of the power we were before. Running through hundreds of worlds, avoiding our former colleagues, and fending off those Abominations has left us nearly tapped out. Do you have a plan to deal with him, or maybe negotiate a ceasefire with him?”

“This is why you young deities are so troublesome to work with…”, the older deity complained, “Chaos…we killed his grandchildren, children, and five of the worlds he called home. There is no negotiating with him, he wants us dead by any means necessary. If there is one thing I am sure of, it is that Cole will not ever forgive us for taking his family from him. That is the one thing he reiterated to me every time I plucked him from the world he was living in.”

Letting out a sigh, the God of Chaos looked out over the barren wasteland of a world they ruled over. With a population of only a few million, solely women at that, they could not muster enough followers here to regain their powers. Even if they conquered the adjacent world, their population would grow by only a few billion which was still not enough to face Cole.

“There has to be something we can do…”, Chaos said, ‘At the end of the day, it was this old fool who caused Cole’s suffering. If I offer his head to him as a peace offering, he may opt to let me go which is all I want now.’

While the God of Reincarnation could not read his thoughts, the older deity was no fool. He knew that they were trapped like rats now meaning sooner or later Chaos would attempt to kill him in the hopes of appeasing Cole’s wrath. Already having planned for this eventuality, he moved to execute his plan to gain a powerful ally using Chaos as an offering.

“Come and have a seat, between the two of us I am sure we can come up with an idea to avoid our deaths.”, the older deity stated, pulling a seat out for him with magic, “I am sure your bright mind can think of something.”
