The cry originated from Dragon Forest, no, from Dragon King Mountain and it got louder as it approached. There’s no doubt about it, that was definitely a Wind Dragon. Its silhouette was similar to that of a Wind Dragon, but it was one or two sizes bigger, and as it drew near, there was a force, or rather, a sense of intimidation.
The Wind Dragon glanced over at us, and looked towards the market, and then headed toward the feudal lord army. I saw it when it passed near us, but its scales that were shinier than the other Wind Dragons’ left an impression on me. Or rather, there were several Wind Dragons, but why did so many of them come!? Wind Dragons, that meant that this probably had something to do with Ojii-san….
When I looked around, the appearance of the Wind Dragon that seemed stronger than the previous Wind Dragons made everyone’s jaw drop. However, it was unbearable for the feudal lord army that was being attacked.
「What!? Their companion, huh?」
「I, it can’t be, a dragon!?」
「That’s impossible! Why would there be dragons!」
I didn’t know the difference between the dragons, but the feudal lord army was mistaking the Wind Dragons for Wyverns, so it seems that the Wind Dragons had become Wind Dragons. Maa, taking down a dragon was not a superficial matter and I had previously heard about it from veteran adventurers at the guild, so not only were there Wyverns, but for a dragon (which was actually a dragon) to appear as well, the feudal lord army was feeling hopeless.
TN: once again, 竜 and 龍 were being used here. Kind of confusing, I know, but I don’t know what else to substitute ‘dragon’ for. They both mean the same thing. Anyone who has a suggestion, let me know! But 龍 is referring to the larger one that just appeared and 竜 used for the ones that came in a group.
The Wind Dragons were chasing the scattered private army and hoodlums around, but it seems that the Wind Dragon had set its sights on the feudal lord and his attendants and was chasing them around using either a Light Breath or a Wind Breath. Honestly, from the strength that I could feel coming from the Wind Dragon, if they were hit directly by the Breath, then the feudal lord army would’ve been defeated easily, but for it to not aim directly at them, did it want to drive them away without killing them?
The Wind Dragon was chasing after the feudal lord army, but the remarkably large Wind Dragon was glancing at us while letting out its Breath. I looked around, wondering if there was something here, but there was nothing.
「Onii-chan, a small dragon!」
Having been told that by my younger sister, I looked up and there was clearly a small『Wind Dragon』 flying in the sky. I verified it using『Appraisal』, so there was no mistake about it, but I thought that Wind Dragons would grow up and evolve into Wind Dragons, so for there to be a Wind Dragon that was smaller than the Wind Dragons, I couldn’t come to a conclusion based on their appearance, which was troubling.
「Although it’s small, the dragon is cool!」
「O~i!」
Even though they didn’t come and attack us, weren’t both Cruz-kun and my younger sister too careless? As for that small Wind Dragon, wasn’t it waving its wings in response to my younger sister waving both her hands!? …could it be, that small Wind Dragon, was it Sakuya-chan? If that’s true, then that particularly big Wind Dragon that was glancing at us was Ojii-san!? It couldn’t be that even when he took on the form of a Wind Dragon, he wanted to show Sakuya-chan his good side?
「I can’t take this anymore!」
「I don’t want to die in a place like this!」
「Feudal lord, let’s temporarily withdraw!」
「U, umu, alright! Retreat!」
While I was realizing that the Wind Dragons seemed to be Ojii-san and Sakuya-chan, there was a development within the feudal lord army. They retreated, no, they ran away with their tails between their legs. As one would expect, it couldn’t be helped as they were being chased by Wind Dragons. If I were in the same situation, naturally, I would run away. Whether or not I would be able to run away was a separate matter. However, the Wind Dragons didn’t seem like they wanted to kill the feudal lord army, so they should be able to run away somehow. Of course, they wouldn’t be unscathed as I could see that some people had bone fractures due to being hit by the Dragon Breath.
「We were saved…huh?」
「Just now, those were dragons, weren’t they?」
The Wind Dragons went after the fleeing feudal lord army, and we, who were left behind, caught our breath. It seems that several people, including me, didn’t feel anything about it, but most people looked like they were on the verge of collapsing due to the pressure of the Wind Dragons. Thanks to the Wind Dragons, the feudal lord army was driven away, but because of the Wind Dragons, those who evacuated the market also left. We had the orphanage and could not leave, so we could only do our best, but I needed to properly take care of the children who were afraid of the Wind Dragons….
