"Lian-" Han Yuan stares at her crying face in a daze. He doesn't know how to react to her abrupt tears.
Su Lian wipes her face with the back of her hand. "I know he's been kidnapped. Just tell me who took him and why they did."
Looking at her serious expression he sighs helplessly. "One of my former employees."
Su Lian's eyes widen in shock. "Wh-what why? Did you fire him? Is he asking for ransom? How does he even know that Yichen is your child?"
"It's not a him, it's a her. And I don't know how she found out. It must have been a coincidence. She hasn't contacted me yet. For now, you just stay here and wait with me. My men are already out combing the streets for her."
Su Lian wanted to refute but Han Yuan's phone starts ringing.
She keeps quiet while staring at it anxiously.
Han Yuan looks down at the caller ID before looking up at her. He pats her hand lightly while shaking his head. "It's my mother," he says to her before answering it.
Han Yuan: "Hello"
Liu Yumei: "Come home for dinner."
Han Yuan: "I can't. I'm busy."
Liu Yumei: "Busy with what? Tell me what exactly could be more important than your own family?"

Liu Yumei: "Did you not see the news? That girl Shen Xun is on the lose. I don't think we should wait for the police. Send some of our own men out to look for her too."

Su Lian anxiously paces around her house. She also constantly stares at her phone waiting for an alert or message from the kidnapper.
"Lian, you should sit down. Being so anxious won't do you any good." Stephanie holds her granddaughter's hand and walks her to the couch. She turns on the T.V and scrolls through the channels. "Watch some T.V, it's a good distraction."
"Stop!" Su Lian immediately cries out with her face glued to the screen. "Go back to the news."
Stephanie nods her head in compliance and puts on the news.
They're reporting Shen Xun's case. A woman who kidnapped and tortured two of her co-workers is still on the run. Anyone who finds her is asked to tell the authorities because she is very dangerous.
Seeing the scarred face on the screen, Su Lian vaguely remembers what happened this afternoon. She and her driver got knocked out while entering her car.
