Cheers resounded from all over the place as the fishkin Roast twirled her bat around the batter’s box.

The bright red uniform of our team matches her red hair and she looks very flamboyant.

The first pitch was a low ball on the inside corner, which she just looked at. The second pitch was a strike in the middle, which she missed.

On the 3rd pitch, she hit a fastball aimed low on the outside corner as if scooping it up and the pitch went over the home run fence like a kit in the wind.

「Shiyaaaa!」

Roast ran around the diamond as she gave us a one run lead.

However, was the ball bad or something?

Baseball wasn’t the kind of sport where home runs were so common.

After that, the game became quite interesting to watch from the outside as both sides continued to hit and strike out.

However, I was already exhausted from all the work I was doing and I’m even dragging the team down like dropping the ball and failing to catch it.

In the bottom of the ninth inning, with the score of 13 to 10 and no outs, it was time for another game between my wife and the fourth batter, Roast.

The two of them had been having a good game so far in their previous battings and this should be the game’s most exciting moment.

「Roast, hit hit hitttt! I bet gold coins! Goollldddd!」

「You can do it neesan you can do it!」

「Madam! Please! For today’s drinksss!」

「The guys in the back! If it gets hit, catch it even if you have to die!」

Roast responded to the plaintive cries of the audience by waving her hands in the air while my wife just smiled without even looking at me.

I mean, you guys in the audience, don’t be so frank with the players even if they’re your relatives!

You’re making me nervous!

Then, Laura-san wiped the sweat from her face, swung hard, and threw the pitch almost right in front of Roast’s face.

「Ball!」

It was hard to tell if it was an outburst or a provocation but number four Roast didn’t budge an inch.

The audience was excited but the area around the mound was rather quieter than before.

The second pitch, which was released amidst the tension, was on the edge of the high inside corner.

「Strike!」

The batter Roast moved but did not really swing.

I wondered if she was not going to let the ball end up as a mere hit.

The third pitch was a low ball.

「Ball!」

And the fourth pitch was another low ball.

「Ball!」

Three balls, one strike, and everyone holding their breath. The fifth pitch was a high ball on the inside corner.

After a series of low balls, the bats of Roast caught the high ball and ran.

The ball began to roll after a thumping sound and the pitcher, Laura-san, jumped on it.

The ball rolled forward with too much momentum but she quickly caught it and sent it to the 1st base while kneeling down.

Whether it was the fast running Roast or my wife’s fast throw, the battle was only a matter of seconds.

The first baseman had hit her glove on Roast as she ran head first into the base byt the umpire’s sign was safe.

「Yeaahhhhhh!!!」

「Uwaaaaaaaaa!!」

「I can drink!!!!」

「Ahhhhh!」

Despite the joy and sorrow of the spectators, the 5th batter was strike out on three pitches and the game was over.

As the winning team shouted the battle cry of victory, Laura, the pitcher, and Roast, the 4th batter, shook hands firmly, transcending the boundaries of their status.

I wasn’t able to do much at all but I’m glad Laura-san was able to have fun.

Even if I ever play baseball in the future, I’ll concentrate on being the owner….sweating is not for me, an intellectual.

What I was thinking at that time was a surprise.

After all, Laura-san would often take me to baseball games which unexpectedly became very popular after that.
