The next day, my wife, Laura-san, and I began to make our way around the city, working to establish rules for baseball for the nobles.

It’s my responsibility to decide the rules of baseball so we went around to the big nobles in Torquiva to ask their opinions on the nobles’ faces.

The quickest way to prevent the nobles from interfering is to use other nobles.

The headmaster of the Magic Academy, the famous hero Estoma, who was also my dean and a relative of Laura-san, and the son of Count Snore, the lord of Torquiva…..who happened to be available for an appointment.

I also received many other examples of noble disputes, their opinions, and their approval of the original rulebook I was to create.

The rulebook was almost like a guide to sportsmanship, including rules on pulling out players, retaliation, the no-side spirit, umpire selection, and so on.

By the time the original copy of the book, entitled “Noble’s Baseball Manual” was completed, it was already late autumn.

I was scolded by my wife for falling asleep during the Fall Sports Festival, which was a fun event for the slaves because I was too busy working my ass out.

It couldn’t be helped since I spent every night in the laboratory or the site of the titan class monster construct creation.

To be honest, this was probably the busiest time in my life.

After working so hard, I had a ten-yen bald spot on my head.

Thanks to that, however, I managed to hand over the copy of “Noble’s Baseball Manual” to the commander of the chivalry before winter. I was so relieved after that.

I was really glad that I had trusted my trouble sensor.

Because at that time, I could have destroyed the city.

『Now then, we will begin the match between The Schenker Scorpions and West Street Green Caps!』

「Let’s go!!」

「Roast is currently working at the dungeon today! You can win! Go west street!」

「Freshly cooked snacks〜snacks〜」

「Nunoya! Let’s see what you ex-soldiers are made of!」

「Painting of players〜Painting of players〜」

「Forecast! I sell forecasts! I’ve got all the information on how the players are doing! I sell forecasts! Forecast!」

「Sake store!! If we lose, I’m going to change our sake supplier!!」

Today, there was a game between the Scorpions, of which I’m the owner and honorary pitcher, and the newbie baseball team started by volunteers from west street shopping district.

The west street team is mostly amateurs but they have former soldiers and sons of the shopkeepers who have become adventurers. I heard they’re surprisingly tricky.

A forecaster told me earlier that it was getting colder and colder outside.

Even so, the stadium is full of people.

And they were not only local residents but there were even some noble-looking people mixed in here and there.

They probably tried their best to put on a disguise but all of them were wearing brand new, top quality clothes, so they completely stood out.

It was an unusual situation for nobles to come and see a commoner’s game but the problem was that there were a number of nobles who took it even further.

Two baseball teams owned by nobles had sprung up during autumn and they began to pay together with the commoners.

They had already played with our team and they were quite strong.

The knights even started baseball teams, all of whom are nobles. They seem to have split into two teams and are playing against each other.

Even though it is still just a localized excitement, the excitement is greater than I’ve expected.

Apparently, replicas of uniforms, dyed in red with scorpions embroidered all over the back, are selling slowly despite being quite expensive.

We also have installed a night game facility at our baseball stadium and started renting it out day and night for practice sessions which has also been surprisingly profitable.

I wonder why?

Was it the fact that anyone could see the show for free unlike the opera?

Or was it the fact that it was the first large-scale sporting event to be held in this city that made it popular?

To be honest, I had not expected baseball to be such a big hit with the people of Torquiva.

Slowly, I feel as if something very big is starting to happen but I don’t think there is anything more I can do.

Having established the rules, all that remained was to go with the flow.

Aside from the winter festival in Torquiva, the summer and fall festivals are over, the field work is done, and there was originally not much entertainment in this place.

With the fuel of baseball, the city was slowly but surely beginning to burn in high temperatures.
