A week later on the dot we received a pair of letters bearing the U.A. seal. So punctual.
He returned to the library with them finding Himiko taking a sunlit nap on her favourite chair in front of the large bay window. He tossed her the latter smacking it right in the middle of her face.
She yawned and slowly stretched her whole body before looking for the culprit that hit her in the face and woke her from her delightful nap.
"What was that for?" she asked indignantly.
"You know what it was for. Like you don't sleep enough at night," he said with a chuckle.
She snorted and ripped open the envelope revealing some paperwork and a small button-like device.
"Hmmm. I wonder what it is..." she said picking it up to get a closer look.
James opened his own envelope. Already knowing what the button was he put it on the desk and tapped it to turn it on.
The button sputtered into light projecting a rectangular holographic screen above it showing a... was it a dog? mouse? bear? He wasn't entirely sure, but it was Nezu the principal of U.A. one of the few animals to manifest a quirk. Well it's debatable if he actually manifested a quirk or if his quirk was a result of the experiments used to create him or performed on him afterwards. Either way he is a certified genius.
He was wearing a tiny little black suit tailored to his tiny physique. It was rather cute.
It would seem being invited by All Might was main character privilege, but he wouldn't complain. Although All Might was impressive, personally he had for more respect for Nezu. Between escaping his captors. Surviving as a sentient animal in a world of humans. His intelligence. Funding, building and running U.A. and his craftiness he deserved at least that much.
Nezu coughed into his fist "Ahem... Hello Busujima-kun. We regret to inform you... that you've been accepted to U.A." he said ending in a sly smirk.
"You achieved a perfect score on your written exam. You managed to score 83 points from defeating the faux villains during the practical exam," he continued.
"That wasn't all though. How could this be a test for heroes unless we tested your entire ability and dedication as a hero. While you were made aware of the villain points you could earn, we were secretly also scoring you for your efforts in saving people during the practical test. To determine this score the teachers voted based on your performance. You score another impressive 45 rescue points here," he explained.
"Not only that, but you actually managed to come in as the first place of the thousands of participants, so congratulations are in order," he explained.
"Due to your excellent performance you will eligible to attend class 1a at U.A. next school year," he said.
"Finally we have included a ranking of the top 10 performers at the end of this message. We look forward to seeing your growth at U.A." he finished.
After the screen with Nezu disappeared a new one appeared showing the top 10 rankings appeared.

James was quite satisfied, he had performed well and though Izuku likely stole the show by destroying the 0 pointer he came in first giving him a good start. He was sure Bakugo would be flipping his shit when he found out he ranked second.
Himiko performed admirably as well. He would be surprised if she didn't end up in the same class as him. If she didn't that was nothing a small donation to U.A. couldn't fix.
He looked over at her. It seemed she hadn't started hers yet and was instead watching his. He guessed that kind of took the surprise off of her invitation, but she didn't seem too bothered. Thinking about her personality and her actions in the original canon he was fairly certain the only reason she was attending was because she wanted to spend more time with him and to mark her territory and ward off "bitches".
After he tapped his invitation making the rankings disappear she activated her own invitation.
The invitation was quite similar which made sense since they had to make over 40 just for the winners that got to attend class 1a and 1b. Then there was the support class 1c. He wasn't sure if the losers got a personalised message. Either way he was sure they rushed through these things to get them done in less than a week.
Hers was similarly positive which was expected given that she had managed to rank 3rd in the total rankings. The only thing they were crossing their fingers for was to hear whether she was placed in class 1a. The higher your score was the better your odds were though and they were happy to find out he wouldn't need to be doing anything to get her moved to his class. All three of them would be attending class 1a after all.
As soon as they got the confirmation they first went to Eri's room and picked her up in his arms so the three of them could go find his mom.
"Aah... what are you doing?" she yelled in excitement. She had opened up a lot over the past year and outside of some moments when she was reminded of the past she had become a very bright and upbeat girl.
He smiled. "We have something exciting to share, just need to find mom now," he said.
Thankfully one of the maids was able to guide them to the tea room she was in.
"Hey everyone. Good news," he said with a smile.
Then he placed the projector button on the table and had it replay the invitation.
As soon as the message finished his mom couldn't hold back and hugged the two of them with tears of joy in her eyes. Because he was also holding Eri it turned into a 4-way group hug.
