It took much longer for the group to walk all the way back to leave the dungeon. They have encountered a few stray monsters on the way, but the creatures were taken care of without much difficulty. They would’ve reached the exit sooner, but the students were really tired after fighting the boss monster. So, instead of trying to shorten the route, the party decided to go to one of the Supply Points to have some rest. It was a slight detour, but it had to be done.

At first, everyone thought they’ll just rest a while, taking a short nap before moving on, but all of them ended up falling asleep in no time. Belinda wasn’t as tired as the students, of course. So, she watched over them while they were sleeping, only to doze of for a short while herself.

Obviously, Flavia and Emilia made themselves comfortable next to Narias. Emilia might’ve felt much safer to fall asleep inside the dungeon compared to the first time, but after Flavia was so bold to curl next to her boyfriend, for whatever reason, Emilia decided to take a similar approach. All Narias could do was to pretend he was already asleep.

“Finally!” Flavia cheered so loud it startled the rest of the group.

“Ah? F… Flavia…” Emilia covered her mouth from the sudden, unexpected, loud cheer. “You… you’re being too loud.”

“Oh, am I? Sorry,” the excited bunny girl stuck her tongue out.

“You seem to be really excited, Flavia,” Lilna tried to take a different approach.

“Haha. Yeah, I guess. I never thought I’ll be so happy to finally reach the exit of the Magic Dungeon,” Flavia threw one of her hands behind her head.

We’re finally out of the Magic Dungeon, eh? Narias thought to himself quietly, seeing they have finally reached the main cave where the entrance to the Magic Dungeon was.

“Phew… That’s a relief,” Belinda Salroze let out a sigh of relief.

“Huh? Is something wrong, Miss Salroze?” Narias was curious about why the teacher would say something like that.

“Not anymore. I’m simply happy we’re finally back with everyone being safe and sound. That will get me a few points, as well as save me from getting scolded by Jean,” the party’s guide told him, looking relieved.

“Points? Do you mean the teachers get points for the Magic Dungeon exploration as well?” that was news to him.

“Of course. We, the teachers, will be evaluated as much as everyone else. We are responsible for the students we take to the Magic Dungeon, as well as, making sure they get the best possible education to help them learn and grow. Everyone at Reina’s Magic Academy has to produce results, students and teachers alike or else… Huh? Wait… why… am I telling you this?” suddenly, Belinda was taken aback by why she would tell all these things to him.

“Wow. So, that’s why all the teachers are so amazing here at the academy. You must be working really hard. No wonder I learn so many amazing things at Reina’s Magic Academy. I’m so happy I got to enrol here,” again, Narias could think of nothing else, but be amazed by how lucky he was to enrol into Reina’s Magic Academy.

“You were so happy about it that you just had to take an extra entry exam even after you got accepted in advance?” The athletic, violet-haired female teacher added with a smirk.

“Oh, yeah… I… I’m sorry about that. I… I hope you’re not angry anymore about what I did back then, Miss Salroze?” Narias became embarrassed after remembering the incident.

“Ah? I…” Belinda on the other hand, had completely forgotten about it. But she was the one who brought the topic up, so there was no one else to blame for it now. “N… not anymore… I suppose…”

Oh man, I shouldn’t have brought it up. She definitely looks upset. Narias couldn’t help, but think the teacher was still keeping a grudge about it.

“Heeey! Narias! What are you doing there? Come on, let’s go!” Flavia couldn’t wait any longer.

“Oh, sorry. Coming!” Narias snapped out of his own thoughts and ran forward to catch up with the group.

Finally, the group stood in front of the exit of the Magic Dungeon. However, the magic barrier had a somewhat different glow than what it was when they have entered it on the way in.

“Hey, the magic barrier looks different,” Flavia noticed it.

“Now that you’ve mentioned it… I think it had a transparent, whitish glow and now… It looks like it is covered with a thick, yellow mist,” Emilia pointed it out, remembering how the entrance looked before they entered the dungeon.

“Wrong entrance maybe?” Growly tilted his head to the side.

“Wha… It can’t be, can it?” Lilna was spooked by the chubby bear boy’s words.

“Suspicious, are we?” Miss Salroze found the student words amusing. “That’s just how it looks after someone is locked inside the Magic Dungeon. You have killed the first floor’s boss monster, remember? The entrance, or the exit from the dungeon’s side, changes color until the Magic Dungeon Reset Cycle completes. Nobody will be able to enter the same Magic Dungeon before it happens. I thought you would’ve known that much.”

“Yes, of course. I knew that,” Flavia put on an act, pretending she knew it all along.

“Flavia…” Narias frowned at her, recognizing she wasn’t honest about it.

“Hey, sorry. I… I forgot, ok? This is the first time I came here. I couldn’t have known how it will look…” the charming bunny girl pouted her lips, trying to sound convincing with her reasoning.

“Yeah, first time,” Growly added as well.

“Hah,” Belinda chuckled. “Don’t worry about it. I was just teasing you. I can’t expect you to know, or remember, everything on your first dungeon exploration run. Although, this minor detail pales in comparison to what you’ve already achieved. Come on, let’s go.”

The teacher reassured the students it was ok to go through the magic barrier to leave the Magic Dungeon. Growly went through it first, showing it was safe to do so. Belinda left the dungeon last, making sure every student went through the magic barrier before her.

Obviously, Narias was too curious not to try and enter the Magic Dungeon right after. He got his fingers hit by the magic force protecting the entrance as soon as he touched it with his hand. For some reason, the teacher wasn’t surprised by him doing so. The girls on the other hand, were worried about Narias getting hurt. Especially Flavia and Emilia. But for whatever reason, Growly went to try and do the same thing as well. The bear beast-boy got his hand hit by the same magic force, which made him simply shrug about it.

Right. So, that’s how the Magic Dungeon Reset Cycle works. We won’t be able to enter the dungeon until the reset cycle completes. But what about other people? They are not locked in the ‘same’ dungeon as us, are they? Narias was thinking to himself while the group was going up by the lift to reach the main gate to go outside.

Once they reached the big, metal gate, Miss Salroze pulled on the lever to open it from the inside. The metal cracked and screeched as the gates opened wide. The bright sunlight hit everyone’s eyes, even though, it was still early morning.

“So bright,” the students had to cover their eyes to get used to it.

“Hey, you’re finally back,” one of the guards exclaimed after he saw Belinda with the students walk out.

“You got everyone worried there, you know. We’ve even received a personal inquiry from the academy’s headmistress some time ago. Glad to see you finally back,” the other guard informed.

“Jean was asking about us?” Belinda was surprised to hear the news.

“Yes, she did. Not that I’m surprised. You’ve been inside the Magic Dungeon for almost two days,” the first guard informed them.

“Two days?!” the students exclaimed.

“That long, eh?” the teacher tried to pretend she wasn’t that much surprised.

Wow, we’ve stayed inside the Magic Dungeon for that long. We’ve probably slept for the second time longer too. I honestly couldn’t tell for how long we’ve stayed there. Tracking time inside the dungeon will be hard. Narias thought about it quietly.

“Well then, I’ll go inform the person in charge that you’re back safe and sound. You will have to go give the report too, but I can tell them you were too tired to do it right away,” the second guard told Miss Salroze, ready to go.

“That’s ok. The sooner we do it the better,” however, Belinda was willing to take it off her ‘to do’ list sooner rather than later. She turned to the group. “You must be tired, and probably hungry, I wouldn’t mind taking a long ba… ahem, I would like to have some rest as well. However, we need to go file a report about your dungeon exploration. You could do it later, but I’d suggest doing it right away. You’ll have to present the items that you collected too. Only for evaluation purposes, of course. You get to keep every item that you have found. It would save you the trouble to carry them back and forth later. That being said, I won’t force you to do it now if you don’t want to.”

The students looked at each other silently.

“I think it’s a good idea to do it right now, then we won’t have to worry about it,” Narias suggested finally.

“Yes. I think it is a good idea,” Emilia agreed.

“If you say so, partner,” Flavia had no problem with doing it right away.

“Give report now. Food later,” Growly didn’t mind either.

“Ok, let’s do it now,” Lilna had no choice, but to go with them as well.

“Hmph…” Belinda Salroze smirked to herself, procuring a mild smile.

The students went together with Miss Salroze to give the report about their dungeon exploration. The person at the registration office was happy to see them. Apparently, the school staff was worried about them since they stayed inside the Magic Dungeon for much longer than a first-year student group would in general.

After a short explanation, and surprised gasps from the staff, the students proceeded to register all the items that they have found. Every item they find inside the Magic Dungeon is worth a certain number of points. Normal Magic Crystals are worth the least. But even so, the bigger the crystal, the more points it is worth. Any crafting materials, like Crystalized Mold or Soft Steel that Growly found, are worth more. The treasure items, or drops from rare monsters, are worth the most points.

The person who was registering everything was amazed by how much items the students have brought back. The items that the students have found were as followed: four Crystalized Mold pieces, one white, two green and one red; Soft Steel that Growly found in the chest; Two-Sided Bone Needle that Flavia found in the chest; Water Stone which was dropped by the Crystal Snatcher Bug; Magic Crystal and the Fanged Whitemane Wolf’s Fur that were dropped by the boss monster; and thirty eight regular Magic Crystals.

“Woah. Now that’s quite a fortune,” the clerk couldn’t believe how much treasure the students had found. “Especially the Fanged Whitemane Wolf’s Fur. I haven’t seen one in ages, especially such high quality one.”

“Cool, isn’t it. Ghee…” Flavia showed her wide grin.

“Anyway, sorry for the distraction. All is done. The results will be announced publicly once all the first-year student groups finish their Magic Dungeon exploration tests. You will be informed by one of the teachers which day the results will be published. Now that that’s done, you’re free to go. I bet you’re looking forward to go get some rest now,” the man informed the students.

“Thank you, sir,” Narias bowed his head respectfully.

“Ok, food now,” Growly was looking forward to finally being able to fill his belly with honey cake.

“Yeah, I’m starving. Let’s go to Sally’s Magic Diner. There should be plenty empty spaces at this hour,” Flavia suggested.

“I would gladly come, but…” Emilia was hesitant about it.

“What? Don’t tell me you’re not hungry, Emilia? Or now that we’re done with the Magic Dungeon exploration test you no longer want to hang out with us?” the energetic bunny girl frowned at her.

“No, that’s not it, Flavia,” Emilia shook her head. “It’s just that… I would like to wash myself and… Well… my clothes are a bit…”

Emilia was a little embarrassed to say it, but Flavia quickly caught on what she was trying to say.

“Yikes, you’re right, Emilia. I smell like bad carrots,” Flavia quickly inspected herself, which made Emilia chuckle.

“Yes. Need to take a bath,” Growly agreed, but then added. “I can stop at the shop on the way for a snack.”

The chubby bear boy was more thinking out loud than anything else.

“Right. So, how about we meet at the diner in an hour… an hour and a half maybe?” Flavia being Flavia wanted to get there as soon as possible, but then realized not everyone would be as fast as she was.

“I think that should be enough time for me to get there,” Emilia agreed, but probably because her dorm was the nearest to get to Sally’s Magic Diner.

“I’m really sorry, but I don’t think I will make it,” Lilna announced somewhat timidly.

“Why? Do you need more time to get there?” Flavia asked.

“Ah, no. That’s not it,” the girl was feeling uncomfortable. “I meant… the Magic Dungeon exploration test is done and… I’d rather not interfere with your student club activities. I… I wouldn’t want to be a bother to you.”

“Hey, you’re not a bother at all. We’ll just get together to celebrate,” the bunny girl announced.

“Ah… haha… That’s great, but…” Lilna wasn’t willing to go for some reason.

“That’s ok, Lilna. You don’t have to go if you don’t want to,” Narias stepped in to save the day.

“Oh, thank you, Narias. I… I guess it’s a goodbye then. I am very grateful for you allowing me to join your team and… and I’m sorry about everything,” Lilna bowed down in front of others.

“Hey, you don’t have to worry about it,” Flavia was feeling uncomfortable about Lilna’s bow.

“Thank you so much for joining our team, Lilna. You were a big help,” Emilia on the other hand, bowed down in response to Lilna’s bow.

“Yes, thank you, Lilna,” Narias smiled at his girl classmate with a light bow as well.

“Well… that’s… I better go now,” Lilna, who was feeling rather emotional, bowed one last time and then left the room.

“Geez… what was that all about? She could’ve at least joined us to eat,” Flavia couldn’t understand Lilna’s behavior.

“We shouldn’t force her to do something she doesn’t want,” Emilia said in response to Flavia’s comment.

“Oh well, let’s go, shall we?” the bunny girl was itching to go.

“Ok,” Growly turned to go right away.

“Are you coming, partner?” Flavia asked Narias.

“Yes, I will. I just need to do one more thing,” Narias had something on his mind still.

“No worries. Just don’t be late, ok partner?” the girl with the bunny ears called out to him before leaving.

Ghm… I think it’s a good idea. But I should ask her about it first. Narias was mulling over something in his head, waiting for his chance.

“Excuse me, Miss Salroze. Can I ask you something?” he finally caught a moment to approach the violet-haired female teacher.

“Yes, what is it?” she turned to face him.

“What kind of flowers do you like?” Narias asked the teacher without a flinch.

“F… flowers? Wh… where did that come from?” Belinda clearly didn’t expect to hear such a question.

“Well…” Narias put on a somewhat uncomfortable smile, not expecting to see such teacher’s reaction. “I just thought…”

“Ahem…” Belinda tried to compose herself, cheeks burning red. Her adorable blush, paired with her violet color lips, and full of surprise glowing violet eyes, made Belinda look alluringly dazzling. “Orchivids… I like… Orchivids.”

The flustered teacher had to turn her face away after she said that.

Orchivids? That sounds similar to… Hmm… Narias thought the name resembled a flower’s name from his previous world. Oh, I better go.

“Thank you, Miss Salroze,” he then remembered he promised to be on time to meet with everyone at Sally’s Magic Diner. Narias bowed his head respectfully and then left.

What was that all about? Tch… Belinda Salroze shook her head, thinking about something. But her cheeks still remained red.
