- ‘Clap, Clap’ – the students heard someone clapping a few steps away.

“Well, well. You’ve actually done it. As unbelievable as it is,” Belinda Salroze commented, with an unusually happy smile on her face.

“Oh, thank you, Miss Salroze,” Narias sat up, leaning on the ground with his hands.

“Sigh…” the violet-haired female teacher had an adorable blush too. “I must say, you’ve got me worried a few times, but… congratulation is in order. Well done.”

Huh? She’s unusually happy and… why is she looking at me like that? Narias had never seen Belinda Salroze look at him the way she was looking at him right now.

“Ahm… congratulations and… I’m so sorry, I… I left you to fight the boss monster on your own. I was just…” Lilna, who was standing next to the teacher, said with eyes full of tears.

“Thanks, and don’t sweat it, Lilna. It’s cool,” Flavia wasn’t bothered by it in the least.

“It’s ok, Lilna. The important thing is that you weren’t hurt,” Emilia reassured her.

“Yes. All good,” Growly said.

“I’m sorry, Lilna. I shouldn’t have pushed you to fight. I apologize,” Narias apologized to her instead.

“Oh, that’s… not your fault, Narias. I… I didn’t want to abandon the group, but then…” Lilna tried to smile through tears.

“Hey, it’s all over now. We’ve won,” Flavia was about to flex her arm to show off, but remembered she better not do that just yet.

“Hmph…” Belinda Salroze crossed her arms under her chest with a chuckle.

“Huh? What’s so funny, Miss Salroze?” the bunny girl pouted her lips, thinking the teacher was laughing at her.

“Oh, I’m sorry. I’m still amazed by the fact that you’ve actually killed the first floor’s boss monster on your first run. You’re one of the very few first-year student groups who managed to do that. But the reason I laughed was, because I thought you’d be more curious to see what kind of treasure the Fanged Whitemane Wolf has dropped. And yet here you are, talking about the food after the fight instead. Hahaha,” Belinda couldn’t help, but laugh about it.

“That’s right, the treasure!” Flavia sprung to her feet, ignoring her sore muscles this time.

“Oh, I completely forgot about it,” Emilia went after her.

“Food is important, but treasure is important too,” Growly stood up to go as well.

“Can I see it too?” Lilna was as curious as anyone else.

“Sigh… You kids… Eh?” The teacher shook her head, but then noticed someone staring at her for some reason. “Huh? Is… is something wrong… Narias Talrone?”

“Oh, nothing, sorry. This is the first time I saw you laugh, Miss Salroze. I just thought you have a lovely laugh,” Narias complimented the teacher as he would any other person.

“Wha… lov-“ that was enough to fluster Belinda up to her ears.

“Huh?” Narias was confused about her reaction.

“Ahem…” the flustered teacher tried to compose herself, cheeks burning red. “Why… thank you… Narias Talrone. But… aren’t you curious about the treasure that the boss monster has dropped?”

“Oh, yeah. Sorry,” he smiled at Miss Salroze before rushing off to see what loot has dropped.

“For crying out loud…” Belinda spoke to herself quietly after she was left by herself.

“A treasure chest, Yey! But it looks different than the ones we found earlier,” the excited bunny girl noticed the chest looked somewhat different. It looked sturdier and had a few ornaments on the hinges.

“Boss monster drops better loot,” Growly commented.

“Should we check what’s inside?” Emilia was curious to see what was inside of the chest.

“Of course… Wooow! Such a huge Magic Crystal,” Flavia picked up a shiny crystal from the chest after opening it. “It’s the biggest one we have found so far.”

“It is indeed. You need both hands to hold it,” Emilia gasped, after picking up the crystal from Flavia’s hands to take a better look.

“So shiny…” Lilna said, but didn’t try to take the Magic Crystal from Emilia’s hands.

“Hey, there’s something else inside too. ‘Fanged Whitemane Wolf’s Fur’. Huh? A fur?” the girl with the bunny ears looked half excited, half puzzled after reading the visible words shown on the item.

“Good find. Blue quality too,” Growly recognized it was a high-quality item.

“So pretty,” Lilna commented when Flavia pulled the fur out of the chest.

“It’s so huge,” Flavia held the fur up with both hands, with only about two thirds of it being out of the chest yet.

The fur was dark brown in color on the sides, while being completely white in the middle. It had a sparkling glow, which ran up and down in waves when Flavia would turn it one way or the other. The students gasped at how glamorous the fur looked.

“Wow, that looks amazing,” Narias commented, finally joining everyone around the treasure chest.

“Is there anything else inside, Flavia?” Emilia was curious to know.

“I don’t think so,” the girl with the bunny ears peeked inside, after rolling the fur in between her hands to fully pull it out of the chest.

“Ok, food now,” after Growly’s curiosity was satisfied, the chubby bear boy was looking forward to munching on something.

“Haha, yeah. Time to celebrate our win,” Flavia agreed with him.

The students picked up the loot they have found and went to eat, and have some needed rest too.

“Fanged Whitemane Wolf’s Fur? Aren’t you lucky?” Belinda was waiting for the students at where everyone’s belongings were.

“Lucky? But the boss monster was the Fanged Whitemane Wolf. It’s only natural it would drop something that belonged to it,” Flavia reasoned out loud.

“Yes. However, it doesn't drop such high-quality fur very often. Fangs and claws are the usual drops as far as I know. If you’re really unlucky, you’d get a few bones, which aren’t even worth much. On the other hand, you’ve fought the strongest possible Fanged Whitemane Wolf, so the drop chance to get good quality item was higher. It would’ve been really disappointing if you found only some bones in the treasure chest,” Belinda explained, waving her hand as she spoke.

“You mean, because it had the maximum number of Fanged Wolves with it, Miss Salroze?” Narias wanted to confirm.

“That’s right,” the teacher confirmed it.

“So, the bigger the pack, the higher chance for the boss monster to drop better items?” Emilia followed up with a different way of explaining it.

“And the stronger the boss monster is,” added Belinda.

“Ok, time to eat,” Flavia needed to recover her energy, so she wasn’t waiting for an invitation to do it.

“No cake left…” Growly let out a disappointing sigh, after peeking into his backpack. But then picked up whatever food was still left in it.

The rest of the group took out the food they still had to fill up their bellies too. The students shared some food with Miss Salroze as well. Everyone ate slowly, taking their time to satisfy their hunger. The party knew they will be going home after they’re done eating.

Sigh… I really wanted to go to the second floor of the Magic Dungeon. Narias wasn’t rushing to eat his food. If anything, he wasn’t feeling that hungry even.

“What’s wrong, partner? Aren’t you hungry?” Flavia noticed his sour face right away.

“Oh, sorry. I… No, not really,” he put his leftover food away, before giving his bunny girlfriend a mild smile.

“Is something bothering you, Narias?” Emilia was concerned about him as well.

“No, I just… I just realized there so much more to exploring the Magic Dungeon. I’m really happy that we have defeated the Fanged Whitemane Wolf, but…” he scratched the back of his head after making a pause.

“But what?” the girl with the bunny ears wanted to know.

“Well, originally, we wanted to go to the second floor of the Magic Dungeon. That’s why we picked up the extra supplies right before going to the dungeon,” Narias started his explanation.

“Yes, that’s right. So, we will have enough water and food with us,” Flavia agreed with him.

“But that’s the whole point. After we eat now, we’ll have just enough for another snack before we have to leave the Magic Dungeon. If we hadn’t picked up the extra water and food, we wouldn’t had been able to get to the boss monster’s lair. We would’ve been forced to turn back earlier,” the party’s leader finished his explanation.

“Huh? Well, that’s true…” the bunny girl put a finger to her lips to think about it. “So, that’s good that we took the extra food with us, isn’t it?”

“I think you are missing the point here, Flavia,” Emilia added politely, before having another sip of water from her bottle.

“What do you mean, Emilia?” Flavia furrowed her eyebrows, not exactly understanding what she meant by her comment.

“Well, we thought that with the extra supplies we’ve picked up we would be able to reach the second floor’s boss monster, but it lasted us only half way compared to what we thought it would. We were probably lucky too, because if this room was another Supply Point room for example, we would’ve never found the boss monster’s lair. After we eat and rest here, we will have to go back home no matter what. Is that what you were trying to say, Narias?” Emilia turned to Narias, wanting to confirm if she understood what he was trying to say.

“Yes, pretty much,” he smiled at her, impressed how well Emilia had put his thoughts into words.

“Hey, you’re right,” exclaimed Flavia, finally realizing what her friends were trying to say. “That means, if not for Miss Salroze’s help, we would’ve never found the boss monster’s lair.”

“Hah, don’t look at me,” the female teacher waved her hand in front of her with the ‘leave me out of it’ expression on her face. “I simply told you that the path you chose will lead you to the boss monster’s lair. You have found this room on your own.”

“Good leadership,” Growly was short with his words as usual, but everyone knew he was referring to Narias.

“That’s right. It was thanks to Narias’s suggestion on which path to choose that we got this far. So yeah, thank you, partner,” Flavia picked it up and thanked him with a smile.

“Yes, thank you, Narias,” Emilia thanked him as well.

“Well…” that made Narias feel a little embarrassed. “But… it’s unfortunate we won’t be able to go to the second floor of the Magic Dungeon.”

“What are you saying, partner? We will come back here again. And then next time, we will definitely reach and beat the second floor’s boss monster for sure,” Flavia told him with a wide grin on her face.

“Yeah. We will come here again,” Growly added before putting the last bite of his food in his mouth.

Oh, that’s right. We can come back here again. Hah… Narias dropped his head, feeling like a goose.

“Haha. You’re right. We will come back here again,” he laughed at himself for being down instead of happy about killing the first floor’s boss monster.

“You kids…” Miss Salroze shook her head after letting out a mellow sigh. “Here’s the deal, I can let you go see the inside of the second floor of the Magic Dungeon. But only to see it. No exploring or fighting monsters. We go there, look around for a short while and leave. Is that clear?”

“Yes, of course,” Narias instantly sprung to his feet.

“Huh? Hmph… Aren’t you excited about it?” Belinda turned her face away, quietly whispering to herself. But then turned to the students with a serious expression on her face. “Ahem… There’s no need to rush. Finish eating, have some rest and we’ll go look around. However, as I said earlier, we’re leaving after you see how the second floor of the Magic Dungeon looks right after.”

It didn’t take a long time for the students to finish eating after she said that.

{after a short while}

“Wow, I have never thought that the second floor of the Magic Dungeon would look so much different than the first one. The first floor is all rocks and caves while the second one…” Flavia couldn’t contain her excitement after the group was finally back on the first floor of the dungeon. The group was making its way back home.

“Yes. It was quite distinctive, compared to this one,” Emilia agreed with her.

“I definitely want to explore the second floor now,” the excited bunny girl added with grin.

“I’m just happy I got to see how it looks,” Lilna said somewhat timidly. She was hesitant to go through the entrance that led to the second floor at first. The girl was keeping close to the teacher to feel safer during the brief moment that they’ve been there.

“It looked cool,” added Growly who, like everyone else, was impressed by how the inside of the second floor of the Magic Dungeon looked.

The students weren’t walking in a formation like they did before. They were making their way back towards the Magic Dungeon exit, taking the same way that they came from. The group hasn’t encountered any more monsters yet. The monsters were yet to respawn, and even if they did, there wouldn’t be that many since the group had killed the boss monster of the current floor.

“Hah,” Belinda chuckled to herself, overhearing the students talk. But then she noticed one of them walking quietly, being deep in thought for some reason. “Huh? You’re being awfully quiet for someone who was overly excited just a few minutes ago. May I ask why?”

“Huh? Oh, sorry,” Narias snapped out of his dream after Miss Salroze spoke to him. “I was just thinking it would be much harder than I originally thought to progress deeper into the dungeon.”

“You make it sound like it was easy up to this point,” Belinda somewhat frowned at him.

“Ah, no, of course not. Haha,” Narias threw one of his hands behind his head with a laugh. “But in all honestly, it might take a few runs before we can actually descend into the second floor of the Magic Dungeon. Now I understand how important the Supply Point rooms really are. We’ll have to make multiple runs into the dungeon only to stock on water and food before we can progress further.”

What? He's planning his future dungeon explorations already? Once again, Belinda was taken aback by Narias’s thinking.

“Huh? Did I… say something wrong?” Narias noticed the teacher was looking at him with a strange expression on her face.

“Nothing, nothing at all,” the athletic, violet-haired female teacher averted her gaze, procuring a satisfied smile which she tried to hide by touching her face with one hand.
