“It is time to start the meeting, sir,” Nalitta informed.

“Is it now?” Louneus Vilmanos pretended he didn’t know what time it was. “Let us not keep our club members wait then.”

“Yes, sir,” Nalitta bowed her head.

The Elite Magician’s student club president and his assistant arrived at the room, which could be considered an auditorium by the share size of it, where their student club’s members were gathered.

“Thank you all for coming today, and welcome to the Elite Magicians student club,” Louneus started his speech.

There were new members at the Elite Magicians club. Many students were impressed by how well the club’s groups performed during the Magic Dungeon exploration test. The news about Emilia going with other than her own club’s group was smoothened by delivering it in a way that Emilia Frizz was helping other students. An act of benevolence, so to say. They made it sound like it was thanks to Emilia that the group she was part of did so well. It was a great student magnet to draw in new members. However, Emilia leaving the Elite Magicians student club wasn’t made official yet.

“Now, I have a new announcement to be made,” Louneus Vilmanos made a short pause before delivering the main message. “I would like for the Elite Magicians to become the best Magic Dungeon exploration club in the whole academy.”

“Huh? What? For real? Dungeon exploration?” Almost every student who have heard his words couldn’t believe their ears. Up to this point, all everyone was hearing about the Magic Dungeon was that it was a playground for the weak commoners who weren’t even worthy talking to.

“Please,” the club’s president raised his hand to have the students become silent. “You shouldn’t make the wrong assumptions. I still stand by my goal to have Elite Magicians win the Magic Power Games and make it the greatest student club ever. However, Miss Emilia Frizz has opened my eyes.”

“Emilia Frizz? That’s right, her group came on top during the dungeon exploration test,” the students in the auditorium started to whisper among themselves again.

“You see, I was so focused on my own goal, I became blind to the bigger picture. In that, I failed as your club’s president and I am deeply sorry for it,” Louneus Vilmanos placed his hand on his chest, bowing down lightly.

“What?” It was shocking for everyone to see it. “No, no. You’re the greatest, sir. I joined this club because of you. I want to follow you. Please, don’t abandon us.”

The students started almost begging him not to retire. Not that he had any inclination to do so in the first place. It was only an act. An act which gave him the results that he wanted. Although, a few older students might’ve picked up on it, but they weren’t against it. The older students were in favor of whatever Louneus Vilmanos was planning.

“Thank you from the bottom of my heart,” this is where Louneus stopped acting. “Now, about the Magic Dungeon exploration. Those who can prove themselves to be competent and show results will be promoted and will have the honor to join our club’s Magic Power Games team. But for that, you will have to show results.”

“Yes, sir,” lots of student were on fire already.

“Wonderful. Miss Nalitta Rasakila will provide more details. I look forward to seeing your great performance,” Louneus showed his charming, model worthy smile which made the girl students in the auditorium melt.

“Greetings. I will be very brief…” Nalitta took the stage, opening her notebook.

And she was brief. The president’s assistant explained in as few words as possible that the Elite Magicians club wasn’t interested in anything else other than the students going as deep into the dungeon as possible. Meaning, the only indicator for the results was defeating the boss monster on each floor. The club wasn’t interested in how many Magic Crystals, materials, or any other, so called, treasures the students may find while exploring the dungeon.

There was one major rule set as well. The Elite Magicians club members were not to help any other students they might run into while exploring the Magic Dungeon no matter what. Helping the weak was a sign of weakness and they’d be instantly kicked out from the club. There was one exception to the rule, however. They not only could, but should save Miss Emilia Frizz if she was to fall in some grave danger. But Miss Emilia Frizz and Emilila Frizz only. There wouldn’t be anything wrong with leaving the rest of her group members behind. The message was delivered in a very smart and smooth way, so it wouldn’t raise any suspicions, whatever those suspicions might’ve been.

“That is all,” Nalitta finished her explanation.

“Excuse me, but…” one boy student addressed her.

“Yes?” She gave him an emotionless, cold look.

“Well, you see… since expulsion from the academy for failing the Magic Dungeon exploration test was removed, I didn’t bother going into the dungeon at all. I won’t be able to form a group because of it, so I was wondering…” the boy was about to ask something.

“Your name?” But Nalitta interrupted him.

“Ah, Srivon Malkom, ma’am,” he answered.

“Srivon Malkom,” Nalitta wrote something in her notebook. “You’re no longer a member of the Elite Magicians club. Anyone else?”

“Eh? What? Hold on, you can’t just…” Srivon was about to protest.

“Excuse me?” Nalitta Rasakila pierced him with her eyes.

“Eek!” The boy made a step back.

“We have no place for incompetent students in our club. Can someone help Mister Srivon Malkom find his way out, please?” Nalitta didn’t hold back.

“Hey, get out, loser,” a boy student glared at him.

“To think that I actually spoke to him. How disgraceful,” a girl commented.

“Wait… I still…” Srivon’s face went pale.

“Beat it, failure,” one more boy threatened him.

“Get lost,” more and more threats were thrown at the same boy student.

In that one instant, Srivon became an outsider and an object for disgust. No matter what he tried to say, he was booted out of the auditorium and ostracised from the Elite Magicians student club.

“Any more questions?” Nalitta Rasakila asked after the commotion settled down. “Excellent. Thank you all. Mister Louneus Vilmanos will be looking forward to your results.”

With that, the meeting was over. The students left to do whatever they planned to do for the day, including with some of them signing up and passing the Magic Dungeon exploration test. Those who still had to do it didn’t speak about it out loud, of course.

“That was quite a show, Nalitta. I didn’t expect you to be so ruthless. I had chills run down my spine even,” despite what Louneus said, he had a rather pleased expression on his face.

“I simply helped him leave here… unharmed, sir,” Nalitta bowed her head.

“So considerate of you, Nalitta,” Louneus Vilmanos tilted his head to the side.

“But do you think it was a wise move, sir? Having our club become involved in the Magic Dungeon exploration?” His assistant wanted to know.

“But of course. After all, I do worry about Emilia. Magic Dungeon is a dangerous place, is it not? I would hate if anything was to happen to her,” Louneus adjusted his glasses, adding that difficult to read smile on his face.

“As shrewd as ever I see, aren’t you, Louneus?” A mature, young man’s voice said.

“Bolgiras… welcome. I haven’t noticed you there. How have you been?” Louneus greeted him.

A full beast-human student, with two thick horns on the sides of his head, came out of the dark shadow from behind one of the columns. As a beast-human, he resembled a bull or a bison, or something in between and he had the looks too. From how big and mature Bolgiras looked, you could’ve mistaken him for being an adult, but he was a second-year student at Reina’s Magic Academy.

“You can drop the act. I know you knew I was there. I must say, that was quite a speech. You almost made me believe your sincerity,” Bolgiras commented, before giving a look around. “Fancy auditorium you have here.”

“Why thank you, Boldiras,” it was unclear if Louneus was thanking him for the compliment about his speech or about the auditorium.

“Mistress sends word. They have accepted your offer,” the big bison-looking student said.

“Excellent news, Bolgiras. I look forward to our cooperation,” the Elite Magicians club’s president was pleased with the news.

“However, my Mistress’ friend wants that guy for herself,” Bolgiras added.

“But of course. As long as Emilia Frizz stays safe,” Louneus agreed, but his comment about Emilia sounded almost like a threat.

“She will. I’ll see to it personally,” Bolgiras stated.

“That’s good to hear,” added Louneus.

“I’ll be going now. Send details later,” the bison-looking student turned to go.

Louneus didn’t say anything, but waited for Bolgiras to leave.

“Can we trust them, sir?” Nalitta asked.

“Don’t worry, Nalitta. Trust is not something I rely on,” Louneus Vilmanos had his usual, confident smile on his face.

“But… what about Narias Talrone, sir? Now that Bolgiras said they want him…” Nalitta didn’t finish her sentence, but the implication was clear.

“Magic Dungeon is a very dangerous place. We can’t predict what might happen to people who go there now, can we?” Louneus sounded like he had a few hidden plans up his sleeve. “Oh, that reminds me. I believe this would be a good chance for Rudolf to redeem himself. Wouldn’t you say so, Nalitta?”

“I understand, sir,” his assistant bowed down, knowing exactly what he meant.

“Oh, you just look at that, it is almost lunch time. Would you care to join me for a meal, Nalitta?” Louneus asked, adding that charming smile on his face as well.

“Apologies, sir. But I have some important tasks I have to take care of,” she refused politely.

“Aww… such a shame. I would be delighted to see your wonderful smile at least,” Louneus insisted.

“Smiling is not part of my job, sir,” Nalitta refused again.

“As serious as ever, I see,” he found her seriousness amusing.

“If you excuse me, sir,” Nalitta Rasakila bowed down and then left.

“Now then, I do feel slightly hungry after all. Hmm… I believe I still have some time before I have to go meet with them,” Louneus threw a quick glance through the window, not exactly trying to see anything. “You are becoming quite a nuisance, Narias Talrone.”

{around the same time at the student cafeteria}

“Yo’, how’s it going everyone?” Flavia looked like she was floating. She joined Ileena, Nicky, Emilia and Vivia for lunch.

“Hi Flavia. Wow, you seem to be in such a good mood. I wonder what happened?” Nicky was curious to know.

“Hee…” Flavia grinned like never before. “Narias came over to spend the night at my place yesterday.”

“Wha…” Ileena almost spilled her drink. “Ahem… you don’t have to be… so loud, Flavia.”

“What? That’s how I normally speak,” Flavia gave Ileena the look.

“How exciting. Mind telling us more about it?” Nicky wanted to know the details.

“Sure,” every girl around the table almost stopped breathing, so they could hear better whatever Flavia was about to say. “I wore an apron when I cooked and Narias said he loved how I looked in it. I prepared my special stew for us. It turned out so good we both overate too much. Oh, oh, and I did the massage for him too. It was amazing, it was the first time I… Aah… Wait, I did the massage first, then I cooked, I think…”

Flavia put a finger to her lips to think about it.

“A massage?” Ileena was too curious not to comment about it.

“You know… how to do massage, Flavia?” Emilia blushed.

“Wow, how exciting,” Nicky leaned on the table with her elbows, ready to listen more.

“You must be a great cook, Flavia. I’d love to try that special stew of yours sometime,” Vivia was more interested in food Flavia spoke of.

“About that… I wanted to make sure I will do it right, so I was very careful with it. But then Narias said it was too dry. I gave it a taste and learnt that it actually was. So, I had to… make it more… you know… It also had a very interesting smell… and taste, but… I actually liked it,” the more Flavia spoke, the more reddish her cheeks were becoming. She quickly went from exciting to being embarrassed. “After… after that we ate and well… Narias also said he loved it and that… he’d like me to do it again, so…”

“That was… an interesting way of describing it,” Ileena commented before having a drink from her cup.

“Wow, now I really want to try that stew,” Vivia added.

“I wonder if… I could learn to do it too…” Emilia was half whispering to herself.

“You know, the workers should finish renovating the kitchen at our club’s house. Then we could all cook together,” Nicky, as smart, and as cheeky as she was, knew exactly what to say in the current situation.

“Oh, yeah. Definitely. I’ll cook for everyone,” Flavia became excited again. “By the way, where’s Narias and Growly?”

“They went to register for the Magic Dungeon exploration run. We’re planning to go the dungeon, remember?” Ileena told her.

“Oh, that’s right. I’ll be definitely going again,” Flavia stated loudly.

“I… will have to stay behind this time. I have to… go away for a few days,” Emilia informed.

“That’s ok. We have enough members to form a dungeon exploration group now,” Ileena didn’t mind. She also probably knew why Emilia had to be away.

“Do you think I could go to the Magic Dungeon with you?” Vivia asked politely.

“Of course, you’re a member of our student club,” Ileena told her.

“How long has it been since I went into the Magic Dungeon. It feels rather exciting,” Nicky commented, trying to remember her previous experience.

“We’ll be going there to explore and find some useful treasure, so we can make some money. We won’t be staying inside the dungeon for too long, or try to reach the boss monster’s lair even,” Ileena reminded everyone.

“But we could beat the Fanged Whitemane Wolf easily,” Flavia argued.

“Yes, but… We shall see,” Ileena neither objected nor agreed with it.
