Chapter 115

After finishing dinner, we immediately started on the construction work. We wanted to evacuate the students as quickly as possible in case the former king decides to do something.

Most of the work was handled by President, so it’s relatively easy for me. I spent my time weaving fabrics.

Since I don’t know the exact number of boys and girls or what supplies are available and what’s missing, I decided to focus on making as much fabric as possible for now. It’s more efficient to leave the sewing for later.

I’ve dispatched maid dolls to Itoigawa-senpai, so if anything happens, she can call for assistance. Senpai seems to be quite fond of the maid dolls. They are cute, squirming as she hugged them, and it somehow tickles my sadistic tendencies.

Once we’ve made some progress with the construction, everyone went to bed to prepare for tomorrow and the days after. We don’t know when there might be trouble with Itoigawa-senpai, so we made sure someone stayed up to be ready to respond to any communication from her.

…And that’s how I became tonight’s watchman.

Continuously weaving fabric while waiting for any communication.

…It’s dark. It’s cold. But I won’t lose, I have subcutaneous fat.

As I stayed up all night without receiving any communication, I’ve woven an enormous amount of fabric, and I’m feeling fine.

Now, it’s time to prepare breakfast! I’m sleepy!

Breakfast is bread. I also made bacon and eggs, which made me happy. The bacon is crispy and juicy, and the eggs are semi-soft and runny. We don’t need any condiments since the bacon’s saltiness took care of that, so there’s no debate over soy sauce versus other sauce… Actually, everyone in this group is a salt person, so there was never any debate to begin with.

As we eat breakfast, we decided to discuss our plans for the day.

…It would have been better if we had talked about this last night. I got distracted.

“There are three things we need to do now. First, we need to gather the classrooms in the Underwater Kingdom. Second, we need to evacuate the students. And third, we need to support Itoigawa-senpai and deal with the events caused by the former king.”

“Gathering the classrooms might be challenging since we are under people’s observation. However, we can deduce something from this. Atzol and the Underwater Kingdom don’t seem to have any diplomatic relations or agreements that would make them restrict each other.”

Ah, I see. It makes sense. If there were frequent diplomatic exchanges or travelers visiting that country, they would have known that classrooms are valuable gems.

Indeed, it’s impossible for people to casually visit that country.

“For the second task of evacuating the students, it would be best to start by constructing residential spaces here. Using the recovered classrooms is also a good idea, but for those who don’t need to move around, I can create buildings with my skill easily, so I think it’s better to build new ones.”

True. By now, most of the classrooms should have been gathered, and for those who don’t need to move, living in stone-walled houses might be more comfortable than using classrooms. You see, if we use classrooms, there’s a limited number of them, and everyone would have to sleep in a large room like on a school trip every day. That can be quite stressful… Ah.

“…By the way, I have a question. You guys sleep in the same room every day, right?”

“Yes, but what’s the matter?”

Hariu, you look puzzled. Aren’t you the one causing stress to others with your sleeping posture? I haven’t forgotten when you used my stomach as a pillow.

“Don’t you find that stressful? Are you okay?”

The atmosphere became quiet for a moment, and everyone seemed to be lost in thought.

“…It’s quite late to bring it up now, huh? I never really thought about it.”

“If we have individual rooms, there will be enough classrooms, right?”

Each of them can have a 1st year classroom.

“Well, considering what might happen, it’s better to stay together.”

“I feel a bit uneasy sleeping alone now.”

“Monsters come banging on the walls sometimes, haha! Ah, that wild boar crashing into the window glass and falling over was a masterpiece, wasn’t it?”

…I have no idea what you’re talking about. What is that? It sounds scary.

“Well, for now, we’re not facing any particular inconvenience, so it’s fine. There are also many convenient things about staying together.”

I see. Well, if that’s the case, then it’s okay.

“It’s also more efficient to do equipment maintenance together.”

“And we chat before going to sleep… Ah.”

Ah, I see. Everyone froze with a look like ‘Uh-oh.’

…Wait, why is everyone frozen? What are you all talking about? It’s bothering me, it’s really bothering me.

“…Let’s stop this discussion here. Next, let’s talk about the third task.”

Ah, they diverted the topic! Aaaah! It’s bothering me! What are you guys talking about? I’m curious!

“As for the third task, it’s true that Itoigawa-senpai has lower combat abilities than us. In fact, I think the strongest people in that area might be from the Tea Ceremony Club. The club rooms and gymnasium are considered as individual classrooms, so everyone there starts with the same advantage, resulting in a higher number of people and lower individual bonuses.”

Tea Ceremony Club being the strongest, huh? No problem.

…Speaking of which, someone mentioned that the Tea Ceremony Club members have a tamagushi (sacred wand). Does that mean there’s a shrine maiden among them? Hehe.

“If they come with armed force, it could become troublesome.”

“Then, can’t we ask the people who were in the gymnasium or other places to protect them?”

What Katori said makes sense, but there’s a hole in that plan.

“Those who were in the gymnasium or other places probably have little to no combat experience.”

People like that would most likely panic in a direct confrontation. Even dealing with monster corpses can be quite stressful, and facing living humans is a whole different level… It would be challenging, I suppose.

If there’s an overwhelming difference in power, you can confidently handle everything without hesitation, but if it’s not the case, you either kill or get killed.

…Ah, now that I think about it, that also applies to us.

I haven’t killed anyone since coming to this world.

It’s because all of them have been doing it for me… It doesn’t make any sense, but, well, I won’t say anything, and I’ll try not to be conscious of it. That’s probably what’s going on.

I’ll accept it. I’ll accept it.

“So, it’s decided that everyone from the gymnasium should evacuate. If we’re talking about combat strength, it’ll probably be Mitsueda-kun, Homura-kun, and also the drama club members.”

That’s right. They should be covered in combat experience… though probably not in interpersonal combat.

“But for now, it’s better to plan that we can handle everything ourselves. Smaller groups are more agile.”

True. If things get too large-scale, it could become uncontrollable, and we want to avoid losing our freedom.

“So, the limited tasks for us are as follows: First, the collection of the classrooms, but we can put that on hold. There are plenty of ways to handle it, and if it causes chaos, we’ll deal with it. Second, we need to build shelters for the students’ evacuation. If the woodwork and metalwork team works hard until the morning, then it should be easy for Maito-san to handle the rest.”

Quite harsh.

“And third, gathering information. We can make our moves based on the information we acquire. So, in our free time, we’ll visit the Deichemoore… Yes, let’s go talk to Utagawa-san.”

…Why there?

“Just because people rarely visit the underwater city doesn’t mean there’s absolutely no diplomatic relationship between them and noble countries. So, we’ll ask Sagara and the others for help and gather information. They might know something, and it’s better than doing nothing.”

Ah, yes, I heard that Utagawa-san is well-connected.

Right, that makes sense. Okay, got it. I wonder if I can sleep now?

…So, while everyone else started their construction work or went out to collect food, I intended to take a short nap. However, I didn’t even have time for that, as I ended up sewing Utagawa-san’s dress.

Since we decided to gather information, I know I’ll definitely need her help. Plus, we had made a prior agreement.

For the sake of making a dress for a beautiful lady, I can push through even if I’m a little sleepy. My artisan spirit is burning!

…Suddenly, I must say, Utagawa-san is truly beautiful.

Her neatly trimmed jet-black hair, ivory-like skin, and captivating eyes. And her slender figure! She’s truly an Asian beauty.

With such an image in mind, you can bet the needle glides through the fabric. I could even eat three bowls of rice like this.

What color would suit her best? I think a slightly contrasting, chic wine red would be nice. The design should be sleek and straight, not too fluffy. Something with a hint of Chinese style might also suit her. Yes, I’m aiming for a look that’s more sexy than cute! But she’s still a high school student, so I need to make sure it doesn’t look too revealing. It’s a bit challenging, but so much fun!

…And with that approach, I found myself making great progress, and the dress came together quite quickly.

…Alright! Time to get some sleep!

After a two-hour nap, I felt much better, so I prepared lunch and resumed sewing. This time, I focused on making underwear for the students from the gymnasium group.

Well, you can never have too much underwear, and it would be the most troublesome thing if we ran short, right? With that excuse in mind, I continued sewing various types of girls’ underwear.

…No, making panties is actually quite easy. By this point, it has become almost industrialized. I layer about ten pieces of fabric and use “cleaning” magic to cut them into shapes. After tidying up the edges and attaching the strings, voila, it’s a pair of panties.

Since the sewing distance is short, I can make each one quickly, and there’s a sense of satisfaction in making a large quantity. They’re all white, by the way, due to my personal preference and time efficiency. But if anyone has a different preference, I can always [Dye] them. Yes.

“I’m back.”

“Welcome back!”

By the time I finished making about 40 sets of girls’ underwear for two days each, the food procurement and construction teams returned.

Lunchtime got a bit delayed, but let’s eat now.

Lunch is udon. Enjoy your meal!

After lunch, along with the completed dress and President who will help with the explanation, I headed to George-san’s place at the Deichemoore.

“Senpai! Welcome! The bacon you gave us was delicious!”

I guess it’s just part of the experience to be welcomed by Hanamura-san every time I come here. Well, it’s nice anyway.

“Oh, welcome! Ah, you brought it. That bacon you gave us was delicious! Though Hanamura ate most of it!”

George-san seems as lively as ever, which is great to see.

“Is Utagawa-san here?”

“Yeah, she’s in the back. Oh, you brought that, huh?”

George-san’s eyes were drawn to the dress. Hehehe, it’s my masterpiece.

“I’ll go deliver it then.”

I headed to the back of the shop, where there was a dining area, and there’s Utagawa-san, relaxing in casual attire.

“Oh, Maito-san. What brings you here? …Ah, is that it?”

“You’ve got it. I have a delivery for you.”

Handing her the dress, Utagawa-san promptly tried it on, asking if it suited her. Yes, it looks like the size is perfect.

“Thank you for bringing it all the way here. I’ll cherish it. …By the way, if Tatsugi-kun is here, does that mean something happened?”

Yeah, the President has become quite known as a troublemaker or trouble detector. It’s like, whenever he shows up, there’s bound to be some kind of trouble.

“Yes. We need some information on social connections.”

Then, the President proceeded to explain the general situation to Utagawa-san and detailed what kind of information is needed. Utagawa-san nodded once.

“Okay. I don’t get it at all.”

…yeah, well, I didn’t understand either, so I can’t say much.

“Why is that? I explained it in quite a detailed manner.”

“It’s too detailed! …That’s right. Just having you in the social circles would be enough.”

Utagawa-san pointed her index finger at President and scolded him, leaving him dumbfounded, and then he replied, “If that’s possible, that would be more rational.”

…Is the nightmare of the temple happening again?
