Good morning. I woke up a bit early, before sunrise, snuggled in soft, smooth, fluffy Ketorami comfort…

Let me explain how I ended up here. Since we were in the peaceful 2F South area, we decided to spend the night here. The abyss still had unknown monsters, and I couldn’t use Ketorami as my blanket if there was a risk of being attacked.

So, I slept on Ketorami’s belly, hugging Hunter. But when I woke up, there was a maid doll on top of me, and Glida was sleeping nearby.

This is all normal. I’m okay with it.

But here’s the main issue…

…There were several strange, cream-colored tiger-like monsters endlessly circling around us.

“Why did you let this happen?” I thought as I looked at Ketorami, who seemed to say, [Just watch.] Glida gave me a [Yes, yes, you stay put] look, and Hunter was just happily saying, [Food, food!]

…So, I guess it’s fine.

As I watched these cream-colored tigers circle around… their outlines began to blur… and now, here we are.

In other words, they turned into butter. Sounds like a story I’ve heard before!

Upon inquiry, I learned that these are rare monsters occasionally seen in the southern part of 2F.

Basically, when they find a suitable spot, they circle around it and eventually turn into butter.

If you disturb their circling, they vanish immediately, but if you leave them to complete their rounds, they turn into a pool of butter.

According to Ketorami, they are half-fairy, half-spirit, or something of that sort… Butter spirits, perhaps?

So, with an abundance of butter, we’re having a bread-based breakfast! Croissants, soup, and a fluffy, creamy omelet are on the menu – exactly what I’m in the mood for.

The croissants are a must since we have both time and butter. I’m craving that crispy texture.

For the soup, I’ll fry diced vegetables and bacon, then add water and simmer until it’s delicious. Seasoning at the end will finish it off.

For the eggs, I’ll whisk them with a bit of salt, pepper, and a touch of milk. Then I’ll heat a pan, add butter until it sizzles, and pour in the egg mixture. Preheating the pan and using high heat helps prevent sticking.

I’ll stir it like scrambled eggs until it’s just cooked, then use the edge of the pan to shape it neatly.

Carefully transfer it to a plate, pour some tomato sauce over it, and there you have a fluffy, creamy omelet.

The refreshing yet umami-rich tomato sauce, combined with the smoothness of the eggs and the aroma of butter, makes for an appetite-stimulating dish.

Omelets are versatile – you can add cherry tomatoes, fried potatoes and onions, or sautéed spinach and bacon. They also go well with meat sauce, demi-glace sauce, and even curry.

Such versatility and deliciousness are truly a blessing.

After breakfast, it’s time to check today’s schedule.

Kadomi-kun will continue flying through the abyss with Tera, continuing the ‘devil’s proof’ mission. As long as there’s a possibility of finding something, we can’t skip this task.

Meanwhile, with so many idle hands, we decided to also head to the 1F northeast area.

There’s supposed to be a country in the 1F northeast, and there might be students enslaved or captured there, similar to Deichemoore or Eitzol.

…Ideally, Homura-kun and his group should be handling that area, but we haven’t heard from them recently, so…

So, we’re going with Ketorami Riding, and Toriumi will be riding.

The reason given is the convenience of being able to teleport independently…

…But I suspect the real reason is different. Toriumi volunteered himself.

Perhaps he’s hoping that acquiring “Motion Sickness Resistance” might lead to becoming a Dragon Knight. He’s another one who understands the romance of it all.

So, with the two people and two creatures gone on their journey, I was busy weaving.

…Having finished sewing all the equipment yesterday, my current task was an experiment.

The clothes that came from the temple had patterns woven into them. I wondered if these patterns might have some effect.

So, I decided to test this idea.

First, I tried embroidering a pattern similar to the one on the temple’s clothes, but it didn’t work. Why not? Maybe the effect only comes with a woven pattern, not embroidered?

Thus, I dyed the yarn beforehand and tried weaving it into a pattern.

Dyeing the yarn for the pattern… well, it’s not just about dyeing the yarn itself; the pattern must be dyed into it. This means controlling the “Dyeing” process meticulously, which turned out to be more challenging than expected.

A saving grace was that the temple’s clothes had patterns where only the warp yarns were dyed, and the weft yarns were left undyed. If both warp and weft needed dyeing, it would have been overwhelming.

I have immense respect for Japanese artisans who weave patterns like kasuri. Just thinking about creating something like arrow kasuri feels daunting. A slight change in weaving density would misalign the weft’s color with the warp’s pattern.

…Ah, the marvels of Japanese culture and the artisans who uphold it.

By late morning, I managed to complete one piece.

It seemed to be a success, as “Appraisal” showed it had “Divine Protection.”

The pattern was radial lines forming a circular shape, reminiscent of a halo.

…Hmm.

For lunch, we decided on something made from flour: okonomiyaki.

Since we weren’t sure when Kadomi-kun and Toriumi would return, I prepared the batter and ingredients ahead of time. We’d cook and eat together once they were back.

We had managed to get some sauce, so I felt compelled to make okonomiyaki. No regrets.

The thinly sliced pork belly crisped up nicely and was juicy and delicious, especially when combined with the sweetness of the sauce. There’s something irresistibly delicious about fat.

While eating lunch, Kadomi-kun and Toriumi gave their reports.

“No anomalies… oh, I encountered a flock of pterosaurs and engaged in a dogfight.”

“Are you okay?”

“Yeah… The Immelmann turn was incredibly efficient.”

…It’s good to see Kadomi-kun steadily advancing in acrobatic flying, and Tera evolving into a veritable fighter plane.

“How about you, Toriumi?”

“I found a town called Kukults, which matches the name of the town Ariane-san mentioned to Maito-san. And there’s another town called Aegis nearby.”

So, the towns Ariane-san mentioned were indeed in the 1F northeast area.

“What should we do? I feel bad for Kadomi-kun, but should we all go explore?”

“Don’t worry about me.”

With that, we decided to let Kadomi-kun continue his abyssal flight while the rest of us set out to explore the newly discovered towns.

…Hmm, the 1F northeast area, huh…

And so, eight of us, excluding Kadomi-kun, arrived at Kukults.

…From what we could see, Kukults appeared to be a mining town.

The 1F northeast area is mountainous, likely rich in underground resources like minerals.

Kukults seems to be a major source of ores that are transported and utilized in the royal capital, Aegis.

…As expected of a mining town, the work here is predominantly physical labor, leading to a rather rugged atmosphere in the town. It reminds me of the area near the Colosseum where we registered for the gladiator tournament. That place had a similar vibe.

“Ores, huh?”

President has always been interested in such things, so this might be a pleasant town for him. He’s been focused on poisons lately, though.

“If they’re mining a lot of ores, there might be blacksmiths too.”

Most of our metal equipment so far has been self-made. Professional blacksmiths in this world might produce higher quality gear.

“…I saw some staffs being sold. Can I go check them out?”

Hagasaki-kun’s weapon, a staff, is something we haven’t been able to make ourselves. If we can find a good one here, it might be worth purchasing.

“Hey, there are some parts being sold that might be useful. Wow, this town is amazing.”

Katori seems excited about the town too. Kukults has something for everyone.

…Hmm. Alright then.

“Let’s split up for a bit and explore individually. Everyone seems to have different places they want to check out.”

“Hey, slaves.”

…Ah, right… That’s an issue here.

“I don’t think it’s necessary for us to stick together. We can handle ourselves against kidnappers.”

Oh, President agrees with splitting up.

“I’m fine with splitting up too. I’m confident I can handle anyone who attacks us. Hahaha.”

Looks like Hariu agrees as well.

“…Let’s have a vote. Who’s in favor of splitting up for exploration?”

Suzumoto initiated a vote, and despite initial opposition from Hagasaki-kun and Suzumoto, the majority favored splitting up for individual exploration.

“Well then, let’s distribute some money.”

…After a quick assessment of the town’s market prices using “Farsight,” it seemed that one or two platinum coins per person would be sufficient for quality gear, so I gave out three coins each.

“If you run out of money, just contact me through the maid doll, and I’ll come to you.”

Now, it’s time for me to do some shopping too.

Over there, I see some unfamiliar vegetables… spices… and some mysterious liquids…

“Hey, wait.”

Just as I was about to eagerly head over, I was stopped.

“You should stay with someone.”

…Right. It does seem wiser for me to be accompanied. Okay. I don’t have high expectations for my combat abilities anyway.

“…Anyone interested in looking at food?”

…Of course, there was no one!

In the end, I decided to accompany Hagasaki-kun, since it wouldn’t make much sense for me to look at metal equipment.

I’m simply curious about magic-related stuff.

…And if there happens to be any information related to life force (physical), I’d definitely want to know. Not that I’m expecting any.

Once anyone finishes shopping, I’ll “Teleport” to them and then explore the food-related items with them.

…I really am sorry for the trouble.
