After the mechanical spider had stopped, the little box on its back silently opened. Following this, a body of light mist wafted from the box.

The little box was opened in line with the python’s breathing pattern. As the python breathed in, the mist moved with the current, entering the creature’s body.

Poison?

No, Ye Zan did not plan on killing the python. He naturally would not use poison against it. The mist released from this box was actually a body of trillions of nanoworms. If not grouped in this mass number, one could not even see them.

The nanoworms, once entering the body, would spread like oxygen along its bloodstream. Tricking the white blood cells in the python’s body, they would rush with the body’s currents and enter the python’s brain.

“Let’s begin.” Receiving the signal that the nanoworms had arrived at their destination, Ye Zan began to give the order to start.

And, moving with Ye Zan’s signal, the nanoworms in the python’s brain began to work according to what was planned. All the nanoworms gathered in an area within the brain. This was no ordinary gathering; they were patterned in a specific order. Like 3d printing, the nanoworms had created a disk the size of a fingernail.

This fingernail size was obviously in reference to a human fingernail. Compared to the python’s head (the size of a small house), this small disk was minuscule. However, though it was small, it could do a lot, because it was placed in a key spot.

This was not any ordinary controlling disk, but a disk similar to the AI support that Ye Zan used. Of course, it was still incomparable to Ye Zan’s disk. This disk was much simpler. After its completion, it was fed by the creature’s own energy, taking the information transmitted from Ye Zan and silently inserting them into the python’s hippocampus.

Although Ye Zan was unfamiliar with the Beast Training methods of this world, he could guess that it was something similar to forcible suppression and the long-term development of a relationship.  He didn’t have the time to develop a relationship with the python. In fact, he would probably be crushed as soon as he tried. After all, he wasn’t even big enough to count as a full bite. The python probably couldn’t even be bothered to eat him.

Of course, this so-called relationship was just the product of a long period of time in partnership and creating pleasurable memories. Thus, Ye Zan decided to just input false memories. This was an easy task for the technology of his world.

As a result, the python’s brain began to contain some new memories. When the python was young, it was attacked by an unbeatable force. Originally, it had defeated the enemy on its own. But now, Ye Zan had become a part of its memories. Ye Zan had rushed through the dangers to rescue the python; healing its wounds as playing with it. After that, they had met up every ten years, and every meeting incomparably pleasurable and delightful.

It was good that this python had no active conscience and would not think about the broken logic in its memories. Like how, according to its memories, Ye Zan should be at least two hundred and some years old. How else would he appear so many times? A conscious creature, or a human, would have quickly sensed the problems in this memory.

So, that was to say that this solution was not all-powerful. Frankly, it was just Ye Zan taking advantage of an idiot.

“Speaking of this, I suddenly think that I’m pretty shameless. But, it’s still better than killing you.” After Ye Zan had taken a look at the memories, he felt like blushing. Really, he had painted himself to be too much of a “good guy”.

Quickly, the memories had finished transmitting. But Ye Zan did not immediately come forward. There were some creatures that, due to their instincts, were not affected by emotions. This was where the story of <The Wolf of Zhongshan> came from.

(The Wolf of Zhongshan is a popular Chinese fairy tale that deals with the ingratitude of a creature after being saved. )

The disk began to move these false memories, letting the python fall into a state of memory. Ye Zan began observing how the python reacted when remembering these memories; noting the changes in its brain. If the python’s brain held chemical changes in reaction to the memories, then these false memories would have passed the test, having truly shown the influence of emotions on the python.

“There’s something wrong…” Ye Zan knotted his brow in reaction to the information sent back by the disk. He found that the python, in the process of remembering, had not only developed emotions like dependence, trust, joy, and delight but also … love.

Oh my goodness, I actually forgot to look at its gender. This was a female snake! Ye Zan smacked himself on the head. He suddenly felt the urge to cry. He just wanted a pet. Who would have thought that, after transmitting some false memories, this snake would fall in love with him?

We’ll slowly make changes to that! Ye Zan had no other solution. If he deleted the present memories and wrote in some different ones, then the python’s brain would be damaged. Ye Zan still wanted the python to turn into a drakon, or maybe even into a dragon. It was too wasteful to ruin that over little things like this.

Ye Zan helplessly shook his head, closing the doors to his dimension, and walking out of his hiding place in the forest.

The python seemed to sense this and woke up. It’s head spun naturally in Ye Zan’s direction.

When the two faced each other, Ye Zan could see a sense of pleasant surprise in the python’s eyes. Naturally, the disk in its brain was constantly sending information to Ye Zan, so he knew how the python felt at every time.

Ye Zan stopped and raised his arm at the python.

The python moved, its originally coiled body rolling out. Its head moved curiously in Ye Zan’s direction. In the blink of an eye, it had appeared before Ye Zan. It opened its mouth slightly, and its tongue slid out, before slowly tapping Ye Zan’s arm.

Ye Zan smiled, looking the python in the eye, and shamelessly said: “Goldie, I’m back.”

Listen to him! Listen to him! Do you hear this? It was clearly the first time they had met. But, because of those false memories, he had shamelessly said “I’m back” like everything was real.

But, the poor python had already completely believed in those false memories. After feeling Ye Zan’s “kindness”, it moved its tongue to happily tap on Ye Zan’s arm. It then retracted its tongue, and moved its head to the ground, carefully leaning it on Ye Zan.

Although Ye Zan could not understand the python’s movements or language, he could tell what the python was thinking through the disk in its brain. His face greened. The snake wanted kisses!

Oh no! The memories I made up didn’t have any “kissing” sections. How did this python get this type of thought? Ye Zan silently cursed as he flipped through the python’s memories.

It turned out that this python had seen the students of the Five Sects kiss during one of their former competitions.

Originally, this memory wouldn’t have affected it much. But now, given the false memories, these fragments of memories held a different meaning to it.
