Chapter 323: Jeff's Determination

While Jef dragged his luggage Catherine led the way. When they got to the first floor Catherine turn to the right. She opened the third room on the right and invited him in. After they were inside the room whose walls were a mixture of blue and white, Catherine began showing him where he could find the restroom, bathroom and basic tools he might need.
"Are you just going to leave me like that?" Jeff asked when he saw Catherine turn to leave.
"I am hungry," Jeff blurted out on realising that Catherine did not halt. Even when he said this Catherine continued to approach the exit.
"I said I am hungry...,"
"And I have heard you which is why I want to go and check what dad has at home. Freshen up before I come back," Catherine said before she turned and close the door.
After she left Jeff changed clothes before he went to the bathroom. Although the bathroom was very small compare to the ones in his home, it was very neat and well maintained. He showered and after a few minutes, he was out of the bathroom. It was when he was drying his hair with the towel that Catherine arrived with a tray of food.
"Frey, for as long as we are here even though you don't wear the bathrobe, make sure to always tie a towel around your waist or else my dad will pick on you if he enters your room and sees you all nude like this. He will say this is the tactics you used in seducing me," Catherine said before she dropped the tray of food on the small brown centre table.
"But he is correct if he says that. You love my body and I used it to my advantage to seduce you. I am not ashamed to say this...,"
"And I dare you to say that in front of my dad and sees what he will do to you," Catherine interrupted sharply before she sat on the blue couch and admires her man's body.
"Stop drooling or you might put me into trouble here...,"
"I thought you are not afraid of my dad so what are you so scared of now?" Catherine asked not taking her gaze off him.
"Of course I am afraid of me. I was so nervous when he was asking me questions but I dare not make my fears visible because he clearly stated earlier that he will not allow you to marry a timid man," Jeff said as he picked up underpants and put them on.
"Frey, you don't need to get so scared. My dad is very friendly. He acted the way he did earlier just to scare you but don't worry. I am sure you will see a different side of him tomorrow," Catherine said as she watched him wear his pyjamas.
"He is my future father-in-law. He plays a huge part in my plans to marry you so of course, I need to be scared of him. I can't afford to make him upset or dislike me. I am sure you might not understand my logic but you will definitely do when you meet my parents for the first time," Jeff said seriously as he went to sit down beside her.
"If you are really planning to please my dad then I wish you luck Mr Jeffrey Darwin," Catherine said before she extends the spoon and chopsticks to him.
"Just wait and see how I will make your dad fall in love with me," Jeffrey said confidently as he scooped the food. He wasn't used to using chopsticks so he opt to use a spoon instead.
"That is one big dream and it is not an understatement that you will suffer to be able to achieve that big dream of yours," Catherine who knew her father very well said before she sat back and watch him eat.
While eating the smart Jeff used this opportunity to ask what her father liked and disliked. He jotted down all the details in his memory.
After he was done eating he dropped the spoon in the tray and turned to face her. His face inched closer as he stare at her beautiful face. Before they both knew what was happening they were kissing each other. They didn't kiss up to five minutes before a loud voice coming from downstairs interrupted their sweet moment.
"Darling, don't you dare to stay in his room overnight because there will be punishments for the two of you if I discover that you did," Mr Qin standing at the foot of the stairs yelled startling the couple in the process.
"Your dad must really hate me," Jeff said after they had both sat properly.
"All parents are overprotective of their children. No matter how big they have grown, in their parents' eyes, they are still children, I guess that applies to my dad too," Catherine said before she stood up and carry the chair.
"Besides apart from being his only child, he raised me by himself since I was a child so I ask that you try to be a little understanding. It's not easy for a man to raise a child without his wife," Catherine said meekly before she turned to leave the room.
"I will try my best so as not to disappoint him so don't worry about it. I will make him see me as an ideal husband worthy of you," Jeff said as he smiled at her.
"Goodnight, dream of me and don't miss my warmth and touch too much," Jeff smile broadened as he stare at her beautiful face.
"I should be telling you that. You always take the slightest opportunity to take advantage of me every night. Have fun missing me," Catherine said smiling before she shut the door and headed downstairs.
After Catherine left Jeff lay down to sleep but he had a hard time sleeping. All he could think of was ways to please his future father-in-law when morning comes.
