Chapter 363: Bring Him Home

"Mum, how are you feeling now?" Jasmine sitting on the bed beside her mum asked as she raised her hand and feel her mother's temperature.
"You are not running temperature anymore, that's is great," Jasmine remarked in relief.
She climbed out of bed.
"Let me go and prepare porridge for you...,"
"The chefs can handle that so leave the job for them," Mrs Avans said in a weak tone.
"I want to prepare it by myself so don't worry, I can handle it without their help," Jasmine said before she left the room.
She went to the kitchen and prepared the porridge she promised her mum. While she cooks Eric kept her company so she won't be bored.
Twenty minutes later she went back to their parents' room with porridge, medicine and a glass of water.
"Mum, have this abalone porridge so you can have your medicine afterwards," Jasmine sitting on the bed with the tray of porridge separating them urged her mother to eat.
"You are staying over for breakfast right?" Mrs Avans asked before she began eating the porridge.
I can see her cooking skills have improved immensely. I guess the one she is going out now must be responsible for it.
Mrs Avans thought as she stare at her daughter who was staring at her as she eats.
"Your dad called to inform me that he will reach home in a few minutes so why don't you wait for breakfast...,"
"Father is coming back? But Eric said he was supposed to come back in two days so why is he coming back so soon?" Jasmine already on her feet asked in surprise.
"There must have been changes in his schedule which is why he is returning sooner than planned," Mrs Avans explained in a calm tone.
"If that is the case then I guess my time here is up. I should be leaving now since I don't want to run into him this morning," Jasmine said as she walked to where she kept her handbag.
"Are you leaving without taking your cell phone with you?" Mrs Avans asked with her index finger pointing at Jasmine's cell phone lying on the side table.
"Damn! I almost forgot to take that with me," Jasmine exclaimed, as she return to the bedside.
"Someone seems to be eager to talk to you. Your cell has been repeatedly vibrating for a while now and it was from the same person," Mrs Avans said when Jasmine stretched to pick up the phone.
Curious to know what her mother was talking about she unlocked the phone. Her mouth dropped open in astonishment on seeing the several missed calls from Jackson.
"Gosh, I missed so many of his calls. I am sure he must be so damn worried about me," Jasmine muttered as she turned to hurry out of the room.
"When are you planning on introducing him to us or don't tell me you are not serious about him?" Mrs Avans asked when Jasmine was at the door. Jasmine turned to stare at her mother.
"Are you curious to see him because I love him or because you and father want to threaten him to stay away from me?" Jasmine asked seriously.
"If the former is your reason then I don't mind bringing him home even tomorrow but if the latter is your reason then I am sorry to say that I will have to disappoint you this once...,"
"Stop being paranoid and find time to bring him home. I am sure your father would love to see the one who has changed you so much," Mrs Avans said in a serious tone.
"Mum if you want to see him then say so and I will do just that instead of bringing father into this. He acted like Jackson was a passing breeze at the party so how could he possibly be curious about someone he ignored?" Jasmine said in an upset tone.
"Your dad...,"
"Mum, refrain from talking so much and eat the porridge while it is still hot so you can have your medicine," Jasmine urged her before she opened the door and left.
When she reached downstairs she met Eric sitting down at the same spot she met him the previous day.
"Young Miss...,"
"I have served her the meal, make sure she drinks the medicine no matter what," Jasmine instructed before she hurried away.
Because she had to resume office that morning Jasmine decided to drop by at home, freshen up and change her outfits.
The moment she stepped foot into the sitting room Jackson who seems to have been waiting for a long time embraced her.
Although she did not expect to see him there his presence made her very happy.
"Sorry I didn't take any of your calls. I had to switch my cell phone to silent mode because I was taking care of mum. I fell asleep in the process of taking care of her that is why I couldn't...,"
"There is no need for you to explain. I know how tired you must have been so I completely understand. I called so many times because I was dying to hear your voice and also know about your mum's condition and not because of anything else," Jackson said as he patted her hair lovingly.
"I feel guilty that I didn't keep my words and I would have loved to spend time with you to make up for it but unfortunately I can't take the day off...,"
"You don't need to. As long as you promise to spend the night over at my place then you don't need to skip work because of me," Jackson said as he pulled out of her embrace.
"Sure, I will do like you want," Jasmine beamed at him. She raised her right hand and stroked his face affectionately.
"Go and freshen up so we can leave for the office together," Jackson said as he caressed her smiling face.
