"This was not so bad." KuliKuli remarked as she took a light nibble from her cooked Kekab, held carefully by her Master's hand. They had tried and failed previously by using her tails, it would appear that despite their tight grip and flexibility, something so thin and slippery as a skewer stick was found to be quite elusive for the poor cat, and so she begrudgingly accepted her Master's aid.

"Aww, is the little kitten enjoying her snack? Do you need me to wipe you mouth for you when you're done, perhaps pat your back until you burp and feel better?" Reta was enjoying taunting her, the scene was too easy and yet she didn't dare lose the opportunity to pounce on it. The Nekomata huffed and folded her arms over her chest, giving her the silent treat while ripping a slice of roasted green pepper from her skewer.

Felix flipped the skewer to him and took a slice of pork between his teeth, chewing on its tough exterior before swallowing. "Pay no mind to her, she simply wishes I would spoil her the same way. You would not talk so loudly if a full moon was present tonight."

Reta scoffed, annoyed by how truthful his claim was.

The four of them decided on a modest celebration tonight, huddled around the fireplace as their little campfire substitute. Felix wanted to set a campfire outdoors, put outside the cabin under the apple tree. However and much to their surprise, mother nature had other ideas and now they established their celebration indoors, shielded under the warmth of a decent fire while listening to the pitter-patter of rain outside. Fortunately, it did not look like any sign of a thunder storm was coming through, a simple breeze but no strong winds emerged and in fact, the sound of rain carried a soothing effect as the atmosphere became very relaxed and peaceful.

Janette dug into her satchel bag, having hung her fur cloak on the hanger as she sat around them in a modest top with her sleeves rolled up and tight brown pants fit for middle-class outdoor labor. She tied her hair back into a black pony tail to avoid getting any hair over her eyes, and secretly to prevent a fear of her hair catching on fire should she leaned to close to roast her skewered snack. With a look of defeat, she sunk down in a hunched pose as Felix immediately noticed and raised his eyebrow.

"I forgot to bring my corkscrew for the bottle."

"We can bash it over a table and remove it that way." Reta mentioned, to which Janette pulled her bottle away from her and incidentally in front of the Nekomata.

KuliKuli sucked in her breath and opened her mouth wide, exposing her carnivorous fangs and sharp teeth before chomping down on the cork. Janette shrieked while Reta clutched her stomach and laughed hard, pointing at the frantic woman pulling the bottle away while KuliKuli refused to let go. They heard a loud suction as Janette pulled the bottle away, a splash of red wine flying in the air in a coordinated line like the swipe of a blade before landing over Norowa's face, shutting down her moment of joy and replacing her happy look with one of irritation. It was Janette's turn to laugh, with Felix chuckling at the entire situation, no one paying any mind to the cat girl chewing on the cork under her fang before spitting it onto her paw.

"All done!" She chirped, beaming with pleasure while Reta's eye flinched.

The accident left a rope of wine stained across her hair, eye and breast, with a bit dripping off her cheek and ear. She grumbled and wiped her face with her hand, looking down and humming curiously before licking the juices from her palm and smacking her lips. "You call this wine? Tastes fruity."

"Oooo fruit, gimme!" KuliKuli yanked the bottle out of Janette's hand, raising her head and taking several large gulps with her eyes squeezed tight. Felix jumped up and pried the bottle from her paws, shaking her by the shoulder. It was too late, and in hindsight he was not helping as the shaking forced her to swallow her last mouthful before looking satisfied. "Aaaahh, so sweeeeeeeettt."

"You are not suppose to drink that in such heavy quantity." Felix scolded her, getting curious himself as he looked down at the bottle again. "Is it good?"

"It's not bad, tastes better than sake." Reta mentioned.

KuliKuli hiccupped and cupped her mouth. "Sweeter then apples!"

Felix shrugged and gave it a try, taking in one large gulp before wiping his mouth. "Like nectar, sweet."

"Riveting." Janette muttered, pouting and sulking in her seat. "I bring the wine and I'm the last one to get a taste."

Feeling bad, Felix passed the bottle back to her as she gave it a little shake. "You guys drank half the stuff already! This stuff is meant to be taken in small sips, have any of you not had ceremonial wine before?"

Felix and KuliKuli shrugged while offering an apologetic look. Reta kept quiet, looking down at her feet. "We don't have wine but I think I understand. If it is like sake, then I should ask if we broke a tradition of yours. I sincerely apologize if I insulted your culture."

"What? No, it's not that big of a deal. I'll just make sure to say something beforehand in the future." She glanced down and twisted the bottle in her hand before shrugging. "The point was to celebrate, perhaps be tipsy with joy and cheer on our faces. The kebabs were a nice touch."

Felix smiled and waved his own kebab from side to side. "A little roasted meat and peppers and onions make for a quick snack no doubt."

Reta cleared her throat, getting all heads to turn to her as she glared into his eyes. "I don't appreciate secrets being kept and my patience is not my strongest trait, so the cat and I would like to know more about this hunter."

"What?" His eyes grew wide, turning to face KuliKuli as she held his arm and leaned in close.

"Yes Master, you do remember that we are good at hearing or did you forget?" She added with a wiggle of her furry cat ears.

"Ah~! It's nothing, there was a chance that the villagers call for a hunter but it was rejected, it's why we are celebrating." He explained with a crack in his voice.

Reta huffed and reached for the bottle of wine to take a large gulp. "I don't think you understand the dangers of a hunter, do you?"

Janette held her breath and nodded. "I'm aware. I was able to persuade them not to vote and to cast their concerns aside. Perhaps in time, they can become more accepting of Monster girls-"

"No." Reta cut her off abruptly, roasting her skewer stick and raising it in front of her nose as the meat and peppers sizzled with a dark complexion, emitting a savory aroma throughout the room. "That isn't going to happen and you know very well why."

Janette sat upright and raised her voice. "But maybe if we come to understand them more, I mean KuliKuli for example, cat girls are aversive and evade dangerous situations. They don't attack unless it's in self defense!"

"As far as you know." She shrugged with closed eyes, biting into her kebab and chewing slowly, "Mm, if you pay attention to all creatures and study them, you would be wise to realize that we all adhere to the rules of nature."

"And that is?" She recoiled as Reta pointed her skewer at her face.

"Survival of the fittest, it is the law of nature. The weak and foolish die young and the wise and strongest reproduce to live another generation by any means. Those who are strong take what they can and choose to look after the weak and submissive should they find them necessary for survival." She paused and began taking more frequent gulps, draining the bottle more and more.

"Even if they attempt to take someone by force?" KuliKuli mentioned with a scowl while her tails coiled around Felix in a protective manner. Even he was taken aback by her words, now beginning to understand why she jumped him when they first met. It was a frequent reminder which held him back from submitting or playing along to her advancements. It felt good to know he wasn't the only one who remembered, he was proud of his lover as she shifted in front of him while glaring at Reta and awaiting for her response.

Her eye twitched but she did not look away, challenging the Nekomata in silence as Reta continued. "I may not like it, but it's how nature works."

"It's cruel and makes us look bad." KuliKuli stated, "Maybe the problem is people who think like you do."

"Such a bold claim for a false accusation, I learned of this law by force. How would you feel to have your strength fail you and the people you trust to betray you? To be helpless, cast down and ambushed not by an enemy but by a friend. Monsters don't only come from women but men as well. We just so happen to come from a different source, but it's easier for others to point to one side and label them as the enemy. I am a woman born as a daughter of a tribal village, yet I am also a cursed wolf under the glow of the full moons. Do you think I could be accepted in the state I am now? Perhaps, but they would reject me as soon as the moon shows its face and shows me for what I really am. I am a Monster, we all are."

"Reta," Felix stood up as did everyone else, the air growing thick and tense around them. "You're not a mons-"

"Yes I am, to them and to the world." She stated with a high voice.

"It's not the curse that makes you a monster, it's the way you are. And forcing yourself on me was an unsettling act that in truth has left us hesitant since getting to know you. You are better than that, I hope." Felix replied in a calm voice, "The first night when I looked into your eyes I saw a predator admiring her prey in a lustful glance. But when I stood close enough, you didn't bite me."

"Yea, so what." Reta growled, looking away as Janette caught on and raised her head.

"I understand, you didn't pass the curse to him to save yourself when you could!"

"Wha-at?" KuliKuli hiccupped looked around hoping someone would explain.

Janette came to her rescue and explained it in simple terms. "If she bit him she could pass the curse to his body and free herself from it in return."

"But she didn't, because she refused. It was never an option for you, was it?" He asked while gently approaching her step by step.

Reta stepped back. "What would it matter? It would become your problem instead and that would be a bigger mess for everyone."

"Everyone but yourself." Janette pointed out.

"Shut up!" Reta snapped at her, stomping her foot and turning her back on everyone while crossing her arms. "This is my burden alone, I can figure this out."

Felix sighed and pulled back when KuliKuli rushed forward, embracing Reta with a hug from behind.

Reta gasped and tried pulling away but the Nekomata held on tight. "What are you doing?"

"Rubbing my scent on you, and also helping you feel better." She hiccupped once more, burying her face into Reta's shoulder. "We just want you to apologize, Wolfy. We know you don't mean it."

Reta groaned and shot a look at the two watching them, as if mentally pleading for them to put an end to this and pull her away. Janette shrugged while Felix shook his head, a low smile on his face before gesturing for her to hug her back.

"Uuuuuggghhhh, you're hopeless." She reluctantly stated, sinking to her knees with KuliKuli following. Even her cat tails wrapped around Reta's arms, not to restrain her but simply to stroke her arms in comfort.

Felix leaned in and held the pair as well with his arms around them both, before turning his head and suggesting Janette to join with a nod of his head. Janette pointed at herself as if in disbelief, but he smiled and tilted his head again so that she understood his message. She shifted around awkwardly before approaching them at a spot where she could embrace all four, with Reta trapped in the center of this group hug. She rolled her eyes and looked away, but Felix noticed a smile emerge in her blushing face before she turned away. That was all he needed to see, resting his head against KuliKuli.

"You're all a lost cause, let me go now I feel suffocated here!" She barked, wiggling free as KuliKuli giggled and fell forward, landing into Janette.

Janette nearly fell back, managing to catch her with the cat girl resting her face snugly between her breasts. She stared up at her with a cute smile and half closed eyes before wrapping her paws around her waist. "Nya~! Caught my new prey."

"Ah~hey!" Her voice trembled as her face turned a dark shade of red, unsure of what to do. "Down, girl?"

Felix laughed at the sight. "She did mention that you giving us a gift is a sign of love and affection, buuut I think she may have had too much wine."

"It was very tasty and sweet like Master's milk." She mumbled, following with another cute hiccup.

Janette giggled and wrinkled her nose, "You even smell like grapes, just how much did you have to drink?"

"A wittle bit, hic!" She laughed and scooted further, climbing up before sitting down on a nervous Janette's lap. Her eyes glazed over her shy face, licking her lips while crossing her arms behind Janette's head. "Meow..."

Janette's face had turned a bright shade of red, looking at Felix in a questioning manner. He understood the message, she was silently wondering if this was fine as her advancements were sudden. He leaned in to their side, his face between the two women as he looked over at his friend and asked, "Are you okay with this?"

"I-I um," Janette swallowed and found it hard to breathe, feeling her heart leaping and thumping in her chest, so nervous that she believed her organs were turning over and dancing in her stomach. "F-Felix, I uuhh... this is going fast and I can get in trouble~"

"Are you with someone?" KuliKuli asked, leaning back. She smiled when Janette shook her head no, leaning into her ear and adding in a whisper, "I won't tell if you don't."

Felix turned around and saw Reta looking away, polishing off another swig from the bottle of wine. It wasn't a lack of interest, but rather avoiding the scene from what he could tell. Reaching out to her, he politely held the bottle and brought her close until she was by his side before taking a sip of wine himself. "You don't feel like watching this time, do you?"

She smacked her lips and rolled her eyes, hanging her head in a look of shame and regret. "I'm sorry... for jumping you and wanting to force myself on you. I didn't think about what would happen after, and... I was hoping we would forget it after you let me stay."

"We could." His words brought a glimmer of hope in her eyes as she raised her head to face him. "But maybe we can try again starting now."

She blinked as he held her hand, a soft blush forming across her beautiful face. Once she realized what he was insinuating, she developed a more confident look in her eyes and squeezed his hand, sliding her other hand under his tunic. "Baka."

"What, does that mean yes?" He chuckled as she smiled and leaned in close.

"It means you're a fool, and soon to be my prey." She explained while reaching in, silencing him with her lips. He returned the kiss, closing his eyes as she snuck her hand around his head and ran her fingers through his hair, pulling away with a smack as their lips parted. "I've waited so long to do this, now we do this right."
