I’ll just tell you that she’s my Fiancée.

TL: lime
ED: Spynine01

“Nanasegawa-san is a very interesting girl”

The fifth period today was PE.

Today we were going to play basketball in the gym, so half of the gym was used for the boys and the other half is for the girls.

The people who weren’t playing in the game were just observing at the edge. It’s boring to watch the men’s game so I was busy watching the women’s side. While I was watching the women’s game, Touma came up to me adjusted his glasses and spoke,

“I never thought she’d pass out solely from eating lunch.”

He said as he watched Shiori dribbling the ball brilliantly, dodging opponents, and making a layup shot. (TL: A layup in basketball is a two-point shot attempt made by leaping from below, laying the ball up near the basket, and using one hand to bounce it off the backboard and into the basket)

She must’ve been starving, but her agile movements and jumps remind me of an angel whose broken wings have been restored.

“We were like that the first time we ate it too, you know? Kojiro somehow managed to put it back in his mouth anyways.”

“I told Shiori not to buy it because of that experience, but she ignored me and went ahead anyways.”

“Hmm…”

Touma adjusted his glasses and looked at the girls.

It’s not uncommon for me to look at a girl, but it’s rare for Touma to look at a girl.

“Oh, yeah. Now that you’re in high school, are you starting to get interested in someone? Is there someone you like in this class? Or maybe it’s from the class next door?”

Physical Education is held with two classes participating together, so there are students from two different classes in this gym right now.

When I look over to see if the person Touma likes is there, I notice Shiori making a three-point shot over there.

From the gymnasium, an “Ooh!” cheer could be heard all around.

“It’s such a beautiful form, like an angel mid-flight.”

“That’s right. If you have a beautiful appearance and form, it’s art in itself. –But, Touma, could it be that you–”

Do you like Shiori after all?

Before I could ask him that, he asked me a question instead.

“Since when?’

“–Eh?”

I couldn’t help but be taken aback. This was because I couldn’t understand what Touma was trying to say.

“Since when did you have such an intimate relationship with the cold-hearted, merciless angel?”

“What are you talking about? I’m not that close to her now. If you’re talking about today’s lunch, we just happened to be together, okay?”

He smiled bitterly and adjusted his glasses.

“Don’t be silly. How can people who call each other by their first name not be close to each other?”

My voice leaks out, “Ah…” he really hit the nail on the head.

“N-no, no. We just call each other by our first names, it’s not like we’re intimate or anything like that. Nowadays, even our classmates call each other by their first name.”

“Hoh… It’s a sudden change of heart for a man who has called every girl he knew by their last names ever since junior high school. So Shijo Sumire and Nakano Hina are being called by their first name now…”

“A- Ahaha. Sumire-chan. Hina-chan. –Like that?”

When I said it with a bitter smile, he snorts and says, “Stop”

“Just tell me the truth, Kojiro. What kind of relationship do you have with the cold-hearted, merciless angel? Otherwise I’ll hand over this information to the fan club as a bribe.”

“Ah! You! That’s dirty!”

“Fufufu. So you can hear me clearly, that’s good.”

My friend said something very smart yet very disgusting at the same time.

However, I’ve really screwed up now, haven’t I? I told Shiori to keep quiet about our engagement. But instead, I stepped on a landmine myself.

Touma’s obsession with the things he’s interested in is so strong that he will do anything to be able to understand it.

It’s less risky to reveal it to him now and have him remain silent, rather than to remain silent and have him tell everyone about it later.

–I’ll apologize to Shiori later.

“Yesterday… I’ve just found out about it yesterday itself”

“Hm? Yesterday.. .you found out… What is it? Are you two siblings separated at birth?”

I said to Touma, who asked me in an interesting way.

“Fiancée”

And then Touma slowly adjusted his glasses.

“Expectations… shattered.”

Even Touma seemed stunned by the sudden unexpected word.

“That’s my line. It was suddenly told to me yesterday out of the blue”

“Yesterday, out of the blue? You mean your parents decided this on their own or something?”

“Good guess. I heard that my parents and Shiori’s parents were seniors and juniors in high school and got along really well. That’s the only reason for this situation.”

“Damn. No wonder your parents agree with it.”

Touma gives a small smile.

“But it’s nice, isn’t it? To be engaged to a girl with such good looks. I’m sure it’s a very rare opportunity for anyone in the world.”

“No, it’s a sudden engagement you know? If you say I had a crush on her, it would’ve been great, but if a girl I hadn’t talked to that much until yesterday suddenly said that she was my fiancée… my brain wouldn’t be able to keep up with it.”

“Hmm. That’s probably true,” he muttered.

“What do you feel about it?

“What do I feel?”

“Do you hate it?”

“Well…”

I stare at Shiori and think back to yesterday.

The image of her naked body burned into my mind, and my son started to stand upright.

“I don’t know. The cold-hearted, merciless angel has a cold, expressionless, silent character. So I don’t really know if she cares about our engagement or not.”

“You can’t tell just by looking at her now.”

“Well, it’s just our parents talking amongst themselves for now. I don’t really care about it.”

That’s the thing–I added in my heart. [ED: Bit confusing but here he’s just clarifying that he doesn’t really care about it right now]

I guess I don’t have to tell him that our Angel-sama has moved into my house. If I do, he’s definitely going to be interested so I’d get into quite some trouble.

“Hmm…” he said thinking that something doesn’t really seem right.

It’s no good. If you dig any further, it will get even more complicated.

“Well, there you have it then. Come on, our match is about to start.”

“Oh, yeah. Is it time already?”

“–So? Who’s the one that Touma likes?”

“I’m not saying anything.”

“Why not? I told you about me.”

“That’s not the same thing as this. Your case is definitely a rare case, but it’s not the same case as mine.”

“What’s that? Hey! That’s not fair now-”

“Come on. Let’s go already.”

After saying that, I saw Touma’s back heading towards the court. He smiled and said just as he’d planned.

It seems that he succeeded in turning away the conversation this time.
