The monster is getting angry:
The monster sensed their presence and broke through the hidden cave. The chaser who was standing at the surface was thrown away by the giant body of the monster, it was nine feet height, hopefully not accumulating excessive fat. It was completely black and moving to look at the chasers with bloodshot eyes and the six legs kept thumping the ground.
"Perhaps it is giving choice to leave early?" the chaser who was thrown stood up and spoke almost crying. "We are not going to leave and labeled as cowards, we are hunting this at any cost." Team leader announced strictly.
They were here to hunt and not to decide otherwise. "You all have level four weapon along with the level four strength, how could you coward just from a monster, it is only one and we are five." he gave a short courageous speech which apparently brought some enthusiasm in the chasers, Qiao was already waiting them to get in action.
He sighed and got ready. The team leader threw a strong trap toward Qiao to set it in minimum time possible. Then he himself get the others to not let monster move away. It was typical type of hunting method so the chasers could easily follow the tempo but the monster released the crystal frozen suddenly and the chasers who were not ready for such unique attack were hit directly.
The frozen crystals did not let anyone escape as if the monster clearly know when and where to attack. Few raised up their thick fleeces to stop the frozen crystals hitting them, the source of the crystals was none other than the eyes of the monster. Before these were blood red and now it appeared as never ending sky showering the colorless crystals.
Everyone scattered to avoid the attack and cover against it. Qiao was also baffled to see this attack, until now non of the monster attack in such strong defense or perhaps only stronger monsters were able to counter attack better way. This was an experience for him to learn for the future hunting. The stronger monsters tend to be more furious and always ready to challenge the hunters for a battle.
Of course they were not supposed to accept defeat after becoming stronger. "Don't get hit, cover and retreat." the team leader shouted. The frozen crystals were equal to a weapon of the monster so if the chasers got hit consecutively they would be injured and lose their present level.
Qiao was standing at the hilly part to cast the trap, and he was not much effected with the sudden attack and he was also wearing better fleece than others. Since most of them were retreating to think another way to tackle the situation, he thought to use the time in planning what to do to give surprise to this monster in return.
Attacking from front was impossible because with observation Qiao could tell that this monster can still see normally despite using it's eyes for frozen crystal attack. So it won't be wise to underestimate the present performance of the monster. Qiao critically observed the monster to find some clue or at least some weakness of this monster, it would be easy to attack considering the weakness.
It's feet were strongly dug deep in the soil, and it was strange that the monster was not moving them to clearly attack, the reason was unknown but Qiao wanted to know now. There must be a reason or weakness else the monster could ha e chased them all with the continuous attack and chase but it was not the case.
Qiao aimed the trap at the feet and the daggers hung along the trap hit it's feet, it stomped them and the frozen crystals stopped attacking. The monster can keep a limited amount of water to cultivate but when attack it constantly need the amount of cold water to turn into frozen crystals and this was only possible when it's feet remain dug deep in the soil and sweep the water from ground. It's feet were the real weakness. but apparently they looked big and strong.
And this made the chasers think that this monster has no weakness. "Shiguan, attack the feet. Don't retreat much just attack the feet. Think a way how you should but hurry." Qiao shouted to get the attention of the team leader.
He was half way through level five and his attack would worth a little better compared to others. Qiao himself pulled the trap without casting, it has dagger hung around so he was planning to throw them one by one to at least tickle the feet of the monster to hinder the attack.
In the middle of the attack, team leader cannot response properly. The other chasers also came into action hearing this young man. They thought that another day would go to waste but hopefully they have a chance.
The monster was still trying to attack but the small prickling daggers were hindrance. Qiao took target at the feet, if only these daggers could really leave some injury he would have been at ease.
But for now he was hopping others to understand how they should be doing their best. As soon as the team leader gave response and attack chosing a rare end, the attack stopped because the weapon pierced in one of the six legs and the monster ran from it's spot.
It was not hit on the feet yet and still could use the attack but it did then the
chaser might know the weakness and losing one of it's feet would be disasstrous for further level up until the feet was healed. Qiao knew why monster suddenly changed mind from attack to escape.
Almost all the monster feared to let the hunter exploit their weakness. It was because they were only vulnerable if their weakness was exposed. So they try their best to not let it known in first place.
