Bring the young hunter:
The watchtower was silent and the team was at alert. The ground in front them was covered with snow. There was nothing noticeable except the occasional groans of some monster which seemed to be coming from afar.
Finally, a level five monster appeared in their sight, but it was not moving towards north end. This seemed it was just another normal night with an intruding monster who wanted to cross the entrance.
"Alright if in a few moments the monster does not change its path then we are going to hunt it." The team leader announced and handed the Twang Tremor stone to Qiao.
"I hope you work hard again." Saying this he jumped down from the wall and his men also joined him.
Qiao was left with the stone and he knew what to do. He needed to wait for when it was needed a bit before activating it. The team was heading towards monster and the first one to come in action was the one who had a trap made of stronger straps. These were similar to leather of fine quality but critically designed and perfected to be a trap.
He casted the trap, but the monster was too fast at reacting. The sharp big teeth it hid gleamed, they weren't noticeable on first glance or the hunter didn't give it any thought. But those teeth were sharper than they appeared. These were on both sides of its head and in no time the hunter was kicked by the monster.
He was thrown away while the other team members were agape to see this. They thought that everything would go fine today too, but it turned that it will be tougher.
"Go and surround it, let that hunter rest for a while." The team leader ordered. The hunter can stand up again after some rest. The team leader had not checked his condition yet and thought he couldn't be down in one attack.
Another hunter who was nearby to the injured chaser spotted his condition and got worried to see it. The sharp teeth had actually hurt the hunter direly in this single attack and he might not be able to fight along with the team.
He thought to tell the team leader about it and voiced, "Team leader, he is bleeding severely. What should I do?"
The team was trying to make a formation but because the two members were not active, they were waiting and moving around the monster.
"What? Send him back immediately then." Team leader ordered in half spirits. Now he came to know that these visible teeth were the real threat for them.
The hunter supported him and sent back. The man covered his injuries and sat at the watchtower. Qiao was still waiting for the team to come in action. "Our one member is not present, should we proceed with the available members?" The hunter asked from the team.
The Team leader thought for a while and looked towards the watchtower, if he engaged completely in the hunt without a fifth member and was caught in trouble then he would be given a headache. It was better to decide otherwise.
"Bring that low level chaser and tell the injured member to keep the stone active." Even though the member was injured, he was still a level five and could activate the Twang Tremor stone until they completed the hunt. The hunter ran to inform Qiao and send the orders of the team leader to the injured person.
Qiao who was looking at them with his discerning eyes to observe minute details knew that they were having a hard time. So he immediately came to join them. It was normal for any team to ask a call for help from anyone. Since he was also part of this team, he was bound to listen to the orders. Even though he had no permanent place in the team.
"You are responsible to take care of yourself and cannot blame us for anything, still you will be listening to the orders and helping the team in hunt." The team leader reminded him. He knew very well that he was not part of this team yet he should be helping in troubles, no matter if the help was small or big.
Qiao then put his temporary weapon on his side and brought out the level five weapon. Then he took a proper stance and came in action as if all the burden of hunting was on his shoulders. He let his actions speak rather than answering.
Seeing his actions, they all got baffled. First of all, they got shocked to see his weapon then they were surprised to see him ready. 'Man, we are level five while you are at fourth level, at least give some face to us' They wanted to say so but gulped back their words.
Team leader was also once again speechless but he had no time to bring it up. If Qiao happened to attack twice and got three hundred experience points, he will be able to reach level five or at least at the peak of level four. The same thing was running in his head when the team leader had called him to help the team and this was the reason that he completely ignored their expressions. He was waiting for such an opportunity.
In his view, opportunities come up and it was up to the person whether he grabbed on to it eagerly or let it go because of his laziness. Their eyes and the expressions were secondary concern in his eyes.
The team came into formation soon and the injured team member activated the Twang Tremor stone. It was a normal battle between hunters and the monster until the monster started to get serious. The sharp teeth were not the only offence of this monster. Its reaction speed was faster than a level five hunter which was troublesome for them.
Qiao was glaring into the eyes of the monster and didn't move when it came toward him. If he ran backwards then the battle would get prolonged just like it was going from an hour. All the teams had their limits with the number of useful or useless attacks.
