Min Yaoyang was upset, and when Qin Chunxiao came to the net again, he put all his strength into smashing the ball. His face turned red, and the ball bounced very high when it fell on the ground, making a loud bang.

Qin Chunxiao moved to the back row, but he wasn’t afraid. He focused on guarding the floor with Du Xiaofeng to keep it solid. After a few rounds, Du Xiaofeng felt a bit of sympathy for him.

Among the rough men in the domestic men’s volleyball team, who only attacked and didn’t defend, there weren’t many players as good at defense as Qin Chunxiao. Du Xiaofeng faintly felt that the Xiao Qin team seemed to have a better sense of ball control than him.

Qin Chunxiao glanced at the score: 18-21, the opponents led by 3 points.

Aizmaiti looked at him apologetically, “I’m sorry, Xiaozai, I’m the one who dragged you down.”

If Qin Chunxiao hadn’t switched to actor mode in time and won a few points back, they would have lost the first game.

Qin Chunxiao replied, “It’s okay, let’s discuss how to fight back first.”

As the captain of the team, Qin Chunxiao called for a timeout on behalf of the team in the absence of the coach and began assigning tactics to everyone.

Qin Chunxiao explained succinctly, “The opponent is an attacking team. We must focus on blocking to have a chance at winning.”

Aizmaiti and Luo He, who were responsible for blocking the net, showed hesitation. They were side attackers favored by most volleyball fans when they were U21s, but they also knew their limitations. Luo He wasn’t strong enough to block the muscular men on the opposite side, and Aizmaiti couldn’t jump high enough.

“Don’t think of defense as a simple task. The first step in blocking starts with serving in each round.”

Qin Chunxiao picked up the tactical board.

In each round, there were three balls, and the first ball, when it crossed to the other side, served as the starting point for defense. It was natural for the opposing team to block their serve, and their serving couldn’t be solely focused on scoring.

He made a request to You Ziyu, the captain of Province H and the main attacker who stood in the first position: “I know your high serve is very good, but for now, I need you to use other serves to make the opponent’s receive as uncomfortable as possible and disrupt the setter’s rhythm.”

You Ziyu nodded, “Where will you be blocking at the net? Now, you, Li Ling, and Luo He are in the front row. Can you handle those muscular players?”

Qin Chunxiao responded, “Why can’t the three of us block at the net?”

Everyone couldn’t help but look at Qin Chunxiao’s height.

As everyone knew, the Xiao Qin team was skilled in aerial combat and floor defense, but he didn’t like to participate in blocking because he wasn’t tall enough. Even though he could jump very high when blocking, the height difference between 1.7 meters and 3.3 meters was significant. The timing required for nine jumps to reach 3.3 meters varied. Anyway, Qin Chunxiao wasn’t cut out for blocking.

Qin Chunxiao remained calm, “I don’t need to block the opponent directly, I just need to touch the ball and then let Xiaofeng handle the rest. It doesn’t matter if the first pass isn’t perfect, as long as we

can elevate it a little higher, there will be enough height for me to adjust with Li Ling. We can do a good job in the setting work.”

He smiled and clapped his hands, “Don’t be nervous, let’s adjust our rhythm, focus on solid defense, and play patiently. Defense requires patience, but…”

“Once we succeed, we will wear down the opponent’s spirit.” Speaking of this, the corners of his mouth curled up.

You Ziyu understood Qin Chunxiao’s intentions. Qin Chunxiao planned to use a typical defensive style of play to wear down those strong players on the opposite side. He couldn’t help but question in his mind, is it really possible?

Qin Chunxiao showed them through his actions that it was indeed possible.

When Qiao Mingming smashed the ball again, Qin Chunxiao, Luo He, and Li Ling all jumped up to block. Ding Rong, who was watching not far away, was impressed, “Great form.”

Aside from height, just by looking at Qin Chunxiao’s timing and form while blocking, one could see that he had honed his blocking technique. It was evident that this kid had put serious effort into refining his skills.

Qiao Mingming attempted to spike the ball, but found that Qin Chunxiao had blocked the best hitting angle. Faced with the wall in front of him, he could only hit the thinnest player, Luo He, but the ball missed. Finally, Luo He’s palm fell towards Qiao Mingming’s side.

As the ball hit the ground, Qiao Mingming widened his eyes and turned to look at the volleyball on the floor.

This was the first time since the start of the game that Luo He had successfully blocked the attack of the strong opponents. With this achievement, Luo He looked at his red hands in amazement and opened his mouth wide. He had actually blocked Qiao Mingming’s spike just now. It was unbelievable!

He couldn’t help but look in Qin Chunxiao’s direction, only to see Team Xiaoqin, who was notorious in U21, giving him a thumbs up.

The person who scored didn’t have to be Qin Chunxiao; as long as his teammates could score, his glory would be shared with Qin Chunxiao. In the team sport of volleyball, there was no need to be stingy in helping teammates because they were one.

Li Ling’s voice came from behind Qiao Mingming, “Your team’s defense is very poor. If it were our libero, even a blocked ball could be retrieved.”

Qiao Mingming turned his head and saw Li Ling pointing his thumb at Du Xiaofeng, who was in the backcourt, with a smug expression on his face.

Du Xiaofeng grinned, “I’m sorry, but this time I’m on the same team as Chunxiao, so I have to deal with you alongside him.”

Successfully blocking the enemy’s ace player was the best way to score points and boost morale in a volleyball game. With this block, Qin Chunxiao’s team transitioned into a defensive formation and began grinding down the opposing team’s score with a defensive mindset.

Qin Chunxiao had reminded them beforehand to play patiently. Everyone had won several games, so they carefully adjusted their pace and gradually began to show their true level, step by step, bringing the situation back under control.

Ding Rong watched for a while, and his eyes softened, “Xiao Qin is an excellent leader.”

Qin Chunxiao clearly understood the strengths and weaknesses of the two teams and came up with corresponding countermeasures in a timely manner. During the game, he guided his teammates to evolve in a direction that was conducive to victory. He was a very good captain.

Generally, when a country sent a team to participate in a world-class competition, the team would consist of 12 people, with 6 on the field and 6 on the bench. Ding Rong knew that these two teams were among the 12 strongest teams in this training camp. They didn’t fall behind.

“Lao Niu has really found a lot of good talents this time. I thought there was no other floor king in China except Du Xiaofeng, but I didn’t expect to see a defensive gate in the making who can grab the floor in front of the net.” Ding Rong opened a bottle of mineral water, ready to drink while watching the game.

Of course, Qin Chunxiao’s blocks didn’t work every time. After all, there was no defense in this world that was absolutely impenetrable. Moreover, it was the first time they were playing together, so there were bound to be some accidents.

Once, when Qin Chunxiao and Li Ling were blocking the net together, they accidentally collided. Qin Chunxiao’s small body was almost thrown away by Li Ling. Fortunately, Li Ling managed to catch him in his arms and prevent him from falling on his back. Otherwise, Qin Chunxiao would have had to visit the infirmary.

Li Ling squatted down and apologized repeatedly, “I’m sorry, Xiaozai, I didn’t mean to bump into you!”

Qin Chunxiao held his waist and took a breath, “Don’t use my tablet to watch Sadako today.”

Li Ling paused and cried out, “Then what about my late-night entertainment?”

Qin Chunxiao retorted, “You watch Sadako screaming and howling, and what about my sleep? If you’re scared, don’t watch horror movies! Besides, I also want to watch variety shows!”

The referee warned them, “If you have nothing to do, get up and continue the match. Don

‘t argue about things unrelated to the game. Stay focused!”

Everyone got up and continued playing.

Fortunately, Li Ling was quite resilient. The occurrence of his convulsions had nothing to do with the environment; it mainly depended on metaphysics. So even if they argued, it wouldn’t hinder him from sending out the instant pass. Qin Chunxiao had long been used to Li Ling’s various quirks and bad habits. They not only didn’t affect his state but also provided some comic relief.

Qin Chunxiao: Defense alone is not enough. We need to score. The opponent’s defense is as weak as a sieve. If we don’t score a few times, I’ll feel sorry for my sharp eyes that can always spot defensive flaws.

He couldn’t break through Fu Biyang’s block on his own. Qiao Mingming, Liu Yuelou, and Min Yaoyang had good jumping abilities. When they blocked together, it was difficult for Qin Chunxiao to find a point where he could hit the ball. It went out of bounds.

So after playing two rounds, what was bound to happen eventually happened.

In an attempt to score, the volleyball first touched Qiao Mingming’s fingertips and then, for some unknown reason, hit Min Yaoyang’s face. Min Yaoyang fell from the sky and hit the ground with a heavy thud, covering his face.

For a moment, Min Yaoyang couldn’t tell whether his face hurt more or his butt from falling to the ground.

Mao Xunfeng, the second passer of the Bashu team, hurried to help him, saying, “Xiao Min, are you alright?”

Min Yaoyang refused Mao Xunfeng’s support, got up by himself, jumped over the barrier, and rushed towards Qin Chunxiao, pushing him with both hands. He exclaimed, “What’s the matter with you? I don’t care if you play rough, but now you’re slapping me in the face?”

Qin Chunxiao was pushed and staggered.

Fu Biyang immediately intervened, trying to stop Min Yaoyang, saying, “Hey! Don’t touch him!”

Min Yaoyang, who was 2.05 meters tall, pushing and shoving someone who was 1.76 meters, was quite shameless. How could Xiaozai, who was much smaller, endure being bullied by this rough guy?

Qiao Mingming also disagreed and shouted loudly, “Come back, Min Yaoyang, we’re here to compete!”

There was a lot of commotion at the scene. Some were trying to persuade Min Yaoyang, while others were attempting to stop him. Only Qin Chunxiao calmly patted the dust off his shoulder.

Li Ling shook his hands, as if recalling something. The cold light of the water pipes and the wailing of gangsters gathered in his mind, forming a grand scene no less than a symphony. Li Ling focused his energy and stared at Min Yaoyang and Qin Chunxiao, shouting, “Quick! Run!”

Min Yaoyang was startled by his voice and glared at Li Ling, saying, “Why should I run? I won’t really beat him. With his physique, I could knock him down with one fist.”

Li Ling replied, “I didn’t ask him to run away!”

Stupid, I asked you to run away!

However, Li Ling’s reminder came too late. Qin Chunxiao rushed forward, clenched his left fist, and landed a hard punch on Min Yaoyang’s armpit.

Qin Chunxiao’s heavy punch almost knocked him out on the spot.

Min Yaoyang, who was about to retort, suddenly lost his voice.

The intense pain triggered his tear glands, and a crystal teardrop slowly slipped down the corner of Min Yaoyang’s eye.

He was punched by Qin Chunxiao and started crying.

Min Yaoyang covered his wound, squatted down, and took a deep breath, while Qin Chunxiao looked down at him with an indifferent expression, saying, “You pushed me earlier, and I didn’t pay much attention. Are you still motivated?”

Qin Chunxiao had encountered many arrogant muscular guys like Min Yaoyang before, and their combat effectiveness was just like this. As long as he mastered the skills well, he could easily handle three or fewer opponents.

Don’t treat someone who is 1.76 meters tall like a tough guy!

If it were the real 15-year-old Qin Chunxiao standing here, Min Yaoyang would be visiting the infirmary today. Fortunately, Qin Chunxiao had known from the beginning what kind of person Min Yaoyang was.

Min Yaoyang was the kind of well-behaved child who grew up in a family with extremely dominant parents. He heard that his two mothers were soulmates, and one of them was a doctor whose name appeared in medical textbooks. As for the other mother, she was a special police officer.

The two strong women didn’t have high expectations for their son’s future as long as there

were no serious health issues or conflicts with their values. Due to their busy schedules, they would satisfy whatever Min Yaoyang wanted, and he was well-protected.

Under the spoiling of his mothers and their extremely low expectations, Min Yaoyang grew up to be a sheltered individual with less courage than Li Ling in a carefree and peaceful environment. By the time the national team trained in 2022, he was already 22 years old and displayed many characteristics including a fear of the dark, birds, and fish.

Li Ling wouldn’t be afraid in a dark corridor.

Fortunately, this foolish and handsome guy had one advantage. When faced with a powerful character, he knew how to take a detour, just like Li Ling, to ensure that he, despite his low combat power, remained safe and sound.

Daring to provoke me.

The second conflict should have ended there, but Min Yaoyang still had a tough teammate beside him: Xiong Wu, the team’s libero who wore glasses and appeared to be a frail scholar.

Seeing Min Yaoyang being punched and crying, Xiong Wu immediately became angry and said, “What are you doing!”

He rushed over. As a libero, he was only 1.84 meters tall, but he still had an 8-centimeter advantage over Qin Chunxiao. He raised his hand, ready to punch Qin Chunxiao in return, but Qin Chunxiao skillfully dodged and executed a shoulder throw, bringing Xiong Wu down.

He had learned this move from Deputy Ding. Ding Rong had used it against him when he was inseparable from Fu Biyang.

Ding Rong was stunned and remarked, “Wow, Dundun is actually skilled in martial arts.”

Min Yaoyang was good and also showed loyalty. When he saw Xiong Wu being taken down, he cried and tried to rush to his rescue, but Li Ling hugged him and pulled him back.

Li Ling: “Don’t go!”

You can’t keep fighting against Chunxiao, don’t go and get hurt!

Min Yaoyang didn’t understand Li Ling’s intentions. He struggled against Li Ling’s hold, reaching out his hand and shouting, “Brother Xiong!”

His screams were desperate, attracting other members of the N Province youth team who were selected for the training camp. They all knew Min Yaoyang’s impulsive nature. Seeing him apparently being bullied, they grew anxious. They thought that with so many people, even Qin Chunxiao would be intimidated. They were about to intervene and try to stop the fight when Min Yaoyang seized the opportunity and managed to grab Qin Chunxiao, throwing him to the ground.

Li Ling, who was only slightly more powerful than Min Yaoyang, also fell.

Witnessing the three burly men approaching once again, Qin Chunxiao kicked the leader first, who immediately crawled away. The other two also couldn’t escape the fate of being beaten.

It wasn’t that they were weak, but Qin Chunxiao was just too strong. The scene transformed from a group of imposing men demanding an explanation from the petite Qin team to Qin bullying all the members of the N Province youth team on the spot. Everyone on the N Province team wanted to help each other but felt powerless, forced to watch their teammates being beaten. Their hearts were filled with self-blame and sorrow for their own helplessness.

Aizmaiti, a good-natured individual, initially tried to incite a fight but, after being punched by Qin Chunxiao in the chaos, he immediately dismissed the irrational idea. He then realized that he could no longer escape the chaotic battlefield. Qiao Mingming extended his hand, calling for help, only to discover that Du Xiaofeng was needed to rescue him.

Fu Biyang, second only to Qin Chunxiao in terms of combat ability on the field, focused solely on dragging Li Ling, his close friend, out of the crowd. He no longer cared about fighting.

Finally, Ding Rong, seeing the chaos unfold, jumped down from the auditorium and began attacking everyone in his path indiscriminately, aiming to take down Qin Chunxiao.

When Qin Chunxiao noticed Ding Rong approaching, he simply lay down on the ground and said, “Everyone, stop. If you stop, I’ll stop beating.”

Ding Rong didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. He squatted down and poked Qin Chunxiao on the forehead, saying, “Aren’t you a good sprinter? Why didn’t you run away when things got heated? Now it’s all a mess. Let’s see if Lao Niu will take care of you.”

Deputy Ding had sharp insight and knew that Qin Chunxiao hadn’t intended for things to escalate to this extent. However, Min Yaoyang’s intense yelling had attracted his teammates’ attention, leading to their attempts to rescue him, resulting in them being beaten up by the skilled Qin Chunxiao.

Qin Chunxiao bashfully replied, “I don’t want people to think I’m an easy target.” This was the most challenging aspect for smaller players. As long as they appeared weaker, they would become easy targets for bullying.

But after today, no one should dare to bully him anymore.

After all, Qin Chunxiao had once again asserted his position through the fight.

He just didn’t know how Old Niu, who had woken up from his hang over, would react upon hearing the news.

Note: Ding Rong knocked down more people than Qin Chunxiao.
