Jing Yu hugs the doujinshi the whole way to his room. After setting the doujinshi on the top of his desk, it occurs to him that this might be inappropriate half a beat later. He stacks a couple of books on top of it.

Once again, a beat later, he pushes those books away, once more hugging the doujinshi into his chest. Upon appraising his den, he finds a suitable hiding spot.

When he finally tucked the doujinshi safely under his pillow, Jing Yu looks back on this series of curious actions and feels that he’s like a little puppy looking to bury a bone. Uncontrollably, he 囧’s at himself.

But what about it? …This is something Fei Ge gave him – Gifts given by his God naturally have to be hidden carefully!

But since there is still practice, after Jing Yu buries the dog bone… no, after he carefully hides his doujinshi, he doesn’t stay in his room for long. Fawning over the doujinshi, he decides, will have to be left for later.

Fang Luofan lives nearby PG’s clubhouse, therefore, he does not reside with the members of PG.

After downloading all three matches from just now, he picks up his laptop and takes his leave.

In the almost same time frame, Qin Fei solemnly announces: “We played three games back to back today. Everyone’s dead beat. Let’s turn in early!”

With a boisterous cheer, Luo Yiming races upstairs to grab his change of clothes. Meanwhile, the still solo-ing Jing Yu is a bit troubled…

“Go shower first. I’ll help you finish this game.” Qin Fei’s voice enters the room once more. This time, his words are solely for Jing Yu.

Jing Yu is just about to agree when he stills suddenly, recalling something: “I’m using Frozen Heart, so…”

“No problem. Leave it to me.”

“Okay.”

Jing Yu doesn’t argue. He obediently pulls off his headphones, letting Qin Fei take over his gaming chair and equipment. Then, he assuredly takes off to wash up.

With this, he is also left in the dark. Not long after he leaves, his first lifeline gets ganked time and time again under Qin Fei’s care. In the end, to nobody’s surprise, Qin Fei lost while being cussed out by his teammates.

Qin Fei calmly logs out as though nothing has ever happened. In the depths of his heart however, he wipes the sweat off his temple – Damn! This demon’s too scary! time, he’ll never play it again!

When Jing Yu leaves the shower room, he wanders around the first floor in his PJs. Seeing as if the Training Room’s lights are already turned off, he heads back upstairs to his room.

Only after wiping his hair dry and double-checking that there won’t be any dripping, does he finally sit on the edge of his bed, gingerly tugging out the doujinshi from under the pillow with both hands.

Actually, things like Doujinshi still have quite a pull on a 2D Otaku like him. However, he has never thought about buying it. Afterall, this kind of thing will typically be a test of luck. Sometimes, the entire book may only have one presentable front page, whereas the rest simply serve as a stopgap for the page count.

Jing Yu carefully balances the doujin on his lap. After admiring the front page, he carefully flips it over.

The front page carries the title page along with it, bringing both to the left.

Jing Yu doesn’t notice, continuing to flip.

Unexpectedly, in the glimmer of the light, he catches a glimpse of some bumpy strokes on the back of the title page. These are… words?

There are words on the front?

He suspiciously turns the title page over, only to see two domineering words: Qin Fei. And right underneath that is adorned with a decorative: PG-Sleep.

“AAAAAAAAHHHHH—”

Qin Fei is just about to head out to shower when he hears this shocked cry coming from the door opposite his. His first thought is that Jing Yu has met with some kind of danger. Therefore, like a conditioned reflex, he throws open Jing Yu’s door and charges in: “What happened?!”

Only to see Jing Yu hugging the doujinshi on the bed, face full of excitement.

Qin Fei: “……”

Seeing Qin Fei charge in, Jing Yu clearly freezes for a second, but doesn’t behave too unnaturally. That face full of excitement transforms into a radiant beam: “Fei Ge, I’ve seen your autograph! Thank you!”

Qin Fei: “…It’s a small matter. Is there a need for thanks?”

Looks like he’s really underestimated Jing Yu’s worship of him.

“If there’s nothing else, I’m leaving then.” Saying this, Qin Fei doesn’t wait for Jing Yu’s response and heads out the door, only to bump into a half-naked Luo Yiming.

Luo Yiming: “What-is-it what-is-it?!”

The youth bearing a head full of blond locks rashly charges in. His first reaction upon seeing Qin Fei is: “Goldfish, nothing happened to you ba! Did Fei Ge bully you?”

“Ah?” Jing Yu is at a total loss as to how Luo Yiming came to such a conclusion. “No ah.”

Before he finishes his words, Qin Fei has already given Luo Yiming a kick: “Will it kill you to put on some clothes before coming?!”

Luo Yiming glares at him: “It’s not like I’m a hero rushing to save a beauty! Where do I get the time to change? Moreover, it’s not for you to see. What are you so excited over?”

He gets an even more brutal boot: “Scram!”

“I can’t. I must confirm Jing Yu’s safety!” Saying this, Luo Yiming obstinately tries to go through, only to be blocked. Qin Fei just doesn’t want to let him in to see Jing Yu.

Or rather, one should say—He doesn’t want to let Jing Yu see this half-naked blondie.

In order to not let the two continue this impasse, Jing Yu can only put down the doujinshi to head to the door, explaining with a bit of guilt: “I’m fine. It’s just – I received Fei Ge’s autograph just now, so I was a bit overexcited…”

Finally having seen Jing Yu and seeing as if he’s still wearing his clothes properly, Luo Yiming lets out a sigh of relief at last: “You scared me to death. I still thought Fei Ge did something to you ne.”

Jing Yu: “?”

Qin Fei: “……”

A little bit later, Ye Hong and Han Leng also charge up to Jing Yu’s door. Both of them look as if they’d just finished showering. Like Luo Yiming, they are half-naked. Even their hair isn’t dried, dripping the entire way here.

Han Leng: “I think I heard Goldfish’s terrified yell just now?”

Ye Hong: “Did anything happen?”

Jing Yu is just about to explain once more when he is pushed by Qin Fei back within the room. The door closes on him.

Subsequently, Qin Fei turns to look at the three nudists before him with a small migraine: “Tsk. Yiming, you explain. I’m going off to bathe.”

“Orh**……”

(**orh 哦: ‘kay : proper phonics is ‘oh’, but Eng pronunciation is ‘orh’)

Thus, Yiming explains every detail to the pair. After understanding the situation, both men bear a face full of black lines.

On the other side of the door, having eavesdropped while leaning against it, Jing Yu wants nothing more than to find a hole to crawl into – This is too humiliating!

He doesn’t think too much of how Qin Fei blocked Luo Yiming and locked him into his own room. He only feels that Qin Fei pampers his fans quite well.

When the people outside his door have dispersed, he returns to his bedside, continuing to admire the doujinshi’s contents.

“So pretty.”

A week of practice slips by briskly. The 4th PGL is just about to begin. Naturally, the first section to start is still the Invitational Playoffs.

Being the only team that got into the Top 8 in the last PGL and yet didn’t receive an invitation, PG inevitably receives some scrutiny.

Shortly after the release of the playoffs’ participant list, Weibo is flooded with inquiries from PG’s fans, asking: What happened to PG? Are they leaving the pro-gaming scene?

Some melon-eating** bunch also complained: A team as unstable as PG should have been disbanded right from the start.

(**melon-eating bunch 不乏吃瓜群众: peanut gallery)

With regards to this matter, the PG who don’t really pay attention to Weibo naturally are left in the dark, so they don’t reply at all.

However, shortly after, when Jing Yu is livestreaming, his attention is brought to this matter by the numerous comments flooding his barrage:

【Invitational playoffs do not have PG. Wassup with dat?】

【Heard PG’s going to disband. Is that true? Goldfish, didn’t you just sign the contract?】

【PG is too risky. Goldfish, you better change your team ba】

Jing Yu ‘er……’s for half a day, not knowing where to begin. Afterall, the line-up of the Invitational Playoffs is decided by the game authorities. He also can’t uproariously talk crap about them without concern for the consequences.

In the end, he can only do his best to give an objective statement:

“In the last PGL, PG’s performance started off strong but ended a bit weak. In order to not repeat the same mistake, PG will be spending another week making adaptations. We hope to make a breakthrough in this PGL. So things like disbanding are impossible la. Don’t believe the things online so easily.”

【So is it PG that decided not to join?】

【Actually PG is just afraid of getting another score like -14 ba?】

【How is PG now? Can you drop a few hints?】

Jing Yu smiles ever so slightly… and turns off the barrage: “Okay, I’m going with Frozen Heart today again. You guess, will I be able to pentakill?”

After that match with SOS, Jing Yu’s livestream has returned to its regular schedule. He just hasn’t been releasing any videos.

Afterall, he is a pro-gamer now. A large amount of time is spent on practice to maintain his gameplay. He can’t squeeze out any time to edit videos.

Maybe it’s because he’s now contracted to PG. His view count is higher than before. With a larger audience, the number of disputes has also risen. All kinds of repetitive flaming surfaces time and time again, causing Jing Yu, who never liked looking at the barrage to begin with, to have an even greater aversion towards it.

However, being a player who frequently uses Frozen Heart to fight Rankeds, he’s already pretty used to this kind of flaming.

Therefore, every time before solo-ing, Jing Yu still drops a few comments to interact with the barrage, pretending to not see those roasting him.

When it’s noon, the Invitational Playoffs officially begin.

Amongst the eight teams invited, two will go up against two other teams daily. In total, they will play for seven days.

Jing Yu appraises the team. Seeing that PG members all have the appearance of “You do what you needa do”, he can’t help but pause: “The Invitational Playoffs… You’re not watching it?”

“We’re watching ah!” Luo Yiming is the one who replies, “But we’ll watch tomorrow. We’ve still got practice this afternoon.”

Ye Hong adds: “Coach will tidy up the match recordings in the evening and accompany us as we watch. He’ll explain during the process.”

“Oh, I see.” Jing Yu gets it.

That’s right. He is a pro-gamer now. He can’t be like before, thinking of PGL as just a competition to watch.

While he drifts off, PG’s members have already began chatting about other things:

Ye Hong: “The Manager might come over today.”

Han Leng: “Fuck! Are you serious?! What time is it? Is it too late for me to change?”

Ye Hong: “…Why don’t you go change your face instead?”

Luo Yiming: “Ye Zi, how do you know the Manager will come over today?”

Ye Hong: “The Coach dropped by early this morning. He told us to clean up the clubhouse a little.”

Luo Yiming: “Okay. Understood.”

Han Leng: “Understood.”

PG’s cleanliness is all left to the players’ discretion. However, so long as the Coach, Fang Luofan, does not say a word, everyone will still pretend the trash laying by the side of their feet doesn’t exist.

However, Fang Luofan will still get them to clean up under a special situation – that is, when the Manager is dropping by.

“Let’s clean up!” Han Leng immediately bounces up from the gaming chair.

Luo Yiming is totally unwilling. Yet, he also doesn’t want to be nagged by the Manager when she comes: “Do it quickly, finish it quickly!”

With these two spearheading the movement, soon enough, every member of PG is spurred into action, taking the initiative to clean up the clubhouse. Even Qin Fei picks up a rag with a face full of distaste and proceeds to wipe the tables.

Jing Yu is in charge of sweeping the Training Room’s floor. As he’s sweeping, he subconsciously drifts off and wanders over to sweep by Qin Fei’s side, asking tentatively: “Fei Ge, is the Manager a scary person?”

This question is a little……

Qin Fei laughs in spite of himself: “It’s not her who is scary. It’s when she comes, that Coach becomes very scary.”

“Er, why is that?”

“Make a guess?”
