A couple of notes before I begin :

[In short, if you’re planning to skip this note: This is the translation of an amateur, so you’ve got fair warning.]

1. I am not a gamer, so I may be slightly unfamiliar with the terms. For a start, I’ve been referring extensively to riri (the previous translator)’s translation as a basis. (That person’s pro-level. For sure.) If I make any mistakes in the usage, please kindly inform me.

2. Just five days ago, I was still using text-to-speech to ‘read’ this novel I haven’t touched Chinese in nearly 5 years. My reading skill in Chinese isn’t too good, that’s why you don’t see me putting this on sites like Chrysanthemum. I highly doubt I’ll be able to pass their translator’s test.

Nevertheless, I am doing my best to improve as much as I can. I’ve currently translated about 15 chapters, so don’t worry, things have more or less stabilized. I’ve been properly going back to my earlier chapters and repenting over how my former unbaptized self screwed up.

That said, I may try to consult with you guys every now and then, especially with you gamers out there~!

Let’s help each other out and make this a pleasant experience!

3. 20D, 20C. This means 20 chapters in 20 days. I’ll take a breather. Then, we’ll see if I release the next cour. It’s likely I’ll try to cover this whole novel, fingers crossed.

4. Donations: As the slogan says, I am looking to raise funds for various charities. This is a little side goal for me. For every five ko-fi’s made, I will post one chapter a day in advance. For more information, click here.

5. Last but not least — whew! This has been a long note!

— I will be translating in present tense, unlike other translators who are all doing it in past tense. As for the reason why, it’s because I get more submerged in the moment when it’s present tense. It doesn’t make sense to talk about the present with past tense tbh.

In addition, things such as your usual Chinglish, like ‘la, ma, ya, huan’, will make their way in. I feel like that’s the best way to grasp the feel of the characters’ dialogue. Many translations end up portraying these characters very coldly because they cut off these little slurs that softens the characters’ tone. Also, I’m not sure about you, but I really enjoy it whenever some translators intentionally use the literal meaning of the original phrase. Like ‘Dog Abuse Street’ (a road full of couples that hurt the eyes).
