“Ye Ge! Your Nine-Tailed Demon Fox is truly too amazing! I—I don’t think I’ll be able to catch up even if I spend my whole life……” Saying this, Amm is suddenly choked up. He bursts into tears, covering his eyes, “Uwaaahh—”3

The 17-year-old who led DJss up against PG is crying like a 7-year-old after losing to them.

Ye Hong stares at him dazedly and after affirming he’s not about to punch anyone, the edges of his lips tug up into a helpless smile. He walks around Qin Fei to raise a hand to put on the top of his head: “Sure ah. I’ll give you however many autographs you like.”1

“Uwah—Ye Ge, you’re too nice to me!” Amm wants nothing more than to bury himself into Ye Hong’s chest right this instance, “I-I want an autograph to me! My name’s Ai Min. The ‘Ai’ from ‘Ailee’, the ‘Min’ from ‘Agile’!”**

(**艾敏 (Ai Min) = 艾莉 (Ài lì= Ailee, a name) + 敏捷 (mǐnjié= agile) )

^ T/N: It just so happens that the very 敏 there is in my name too, so what a treat, what a treat~!)

“Alright, Xiao Min**, once this is over, I’ll definitely give you an autograph!” Ye Hong pats Ai Min on the back before signing an “It’s OK ” sign to the security who were just read to surround them.

The emcee was freaked out by this situation and takes a while to snap back to himself: 【……Haha! So Amm is a fan of Ye Zi! No wonder his style of playing resembles Ye Zi’s so much!】He heads upstage with a mic,【Just now, you seriously gave me a huge scare! I still thought you were going to give him a beating because you lost ne. So you were asking Ye Zi for his autograph ah!】

With the emcee’s explanation, the audience in a commotion down below is instantly enlightened and they each let out sighs of relief.

Ai Min also clearly realizes what an overreaction he had. He covers his face again, not daring to face the audiences.

To be able to faceoff with a pro-gamer he likes to his heart’s content in a game, he’s wholly certain there’s no more regrets left in his career as a pro-gamer. Moreover, Ye Zi even used his renowned demon – Nine-Tailed Demon Fox!

After the two teams’ members shook hands and congratulate each other, they bow deeply to the audiences. However, the emcee doesn’t have the slightest intention of letting them off.

He raises the mic to PG: 【The next round is between PH and L.L. The winner of their match will be your next opponent in the competition. Is there a word you’ll like to say to them?】

The one who takes the mic from him is the one who’s standing closest to the emcee – Luo Yiming.

The moment he closes his hand around the mic, all members of PG are instantly hit with a wave of unease.2

As expected, the first line that comes out of Luo Yiming’s mouth is: 【Whatever! Whoever wins, it’s not like they’ll be a match for us!】

The crowd’s instantly filled with “boos”. But there’re also a couple few who burst out laughing and cheer PG on!

Alright. It’s not e-sports without some trash-talking. With such a rare opportunity presented to them, they might as well let out all the trash-talk they didn’t get to do during the recording, or it’ll be a waste.

With that thought in mind, Ye Hong pulls the mic over to himself: 【Let my Nine-Tailed Demon Fox out again if you’ve got the guts! I’ll definitely pentakill next time!】

Han Leng also steals the mic from him to join in on the fun: 【We will definitely win the Championship this time round!】

Then for god knows what reason, the mic ends up in Qin Fei’s hands. Qin Fei frowns,【There’s nothing to say…… We’re not so weak as to lose in the Elimination Round.】

With that, he smoothly dumps the mic on Jing Yu, who’s standing beside him.

Jing Yu has already sassed aplenty in the voice recording. Nevertheless, since the mic’s already in his hands, he naturally has to leave a word: 【I hope someone will invade my Jungle in the next round. Otherwise, I’ll be too lonely~】2

Wah, such a tone begging for a beating!

The audience’s booing in indignation again, and moreover it nearly rivals that round of booing Luo Yiming earned just now!

Despite looking irritated originally, Qin Fei’s finally tickled to laughter and is totally oblivious to the close-up he gets from the cameraman in that moment.

Subsequently, the audiences are filled with a series of gasps, and the barrage also falls head over heels for him.

【AAAAAAAAAAHHH! FEI GE, YOU’RE TOO HANDSOME! MY GOD!】

【Heavens! Fei Ge looks so cool when he smiles, he doesn’t even look human anymore!】

【Momma, I saw an angel!】

【Did Fei Ge laugh because of Goldfish?】

【Now that you mention it, Fei Ge and Goldfish look so matching side by side!】1

Having been fully sated, Jing Yu walks over to the emcee clasping the mic in both hands. When handing it over, he smilingly drops a “Thank you” and although it’s very soft, it is still caught by the mic.

【Heavens, Goldfish, aren’t you too nice?!】

【Frisky yet nice!】

【GOLDFISH’S AN ANGEL AAAAAAAAHH!】

【This smile’s mine to take!】***

【Goldfish’s smile is mine to protect!】

Just like that, the bullet comments which were originally spamming 【66666】over PG’s in-game brilliance swiftly gets drowned out by a bunch of mug-obsessed dogs**. Anyone new to the channel might still think this is a variety show instead of 《Demon Lord》’s 4th LDPL (Elimination Round)’s live broadcast.

(**mug-obsessed dogs 颜狗 : only cares about the faces of people)

The emcee who’s accepted the mic makes a somewhat awkward, but nonetheless polite smile. He originally intended for PG to give a word of encouragement to their opponent. Even a single “We’ll see you in the match tomorrow” would have been good. But in the end? PG all trash-talked!

Looking at this pace…… It looks like after every match here on out, the winning teams will all follow their example and trash-talk to no ends.1

The emcee wipes the sweat dotting his forehead and gets over to the five from DJss.

Being this team’s Captain in Commanding – Ai Min has more or less calmed himself down. The two red-rimmed eyes makes him look a little like a bunny rabbit. Combine that with his still youngish looks, he looks unexpectedly a bit adorable.

The emcee asks: 【Although you’ve lost to PG, you also managed to clinch a round off them, meaning you’re an incredibly strong team. Add on to the fact that you’re all still so young, you’ve got quite a promising path ahead! May I ask if there’s anything you want to say to PG? Or perhaps, you may also tell us how you feel at this moment.】

The one who takes the mic is Ai Min. He falls into a short silence before he forces a weak smile: 【It’s like this. We’re still in the 2nd year of high school. Next year, we’ll be in the 3rd year and we’ve got the high school examinations, so…… So after season, DJss’ intending to disban.】

The moment he reveals that, everyone on the scene’s thrown into an uproar, all in various degrees of disbelief – So this is DJss final match?!

It’s such a pity ah. They’re clearly all so capable. Especially Amm, this Mid-Laner……

Ai Min’s clearly very reluctant to disband too. As he goes on, his eyes gain a sheen of wetness: 【I really love pro-gaming……truly, I really love it…… I want nothing more than to continue playing this way, till the last breath I take – but – but……】

Before he manages to finish his words, the mic’s snatched from his hand by someone!

Ai Min startles, turning in surprise to see Ye Hong.

Ye Hong meets his gaze, flashing a smile as he declares into the mic: 【Do your best in the exams. Once you’re done with them, if you’re still interesting in pro-gaming, then come join PG ba!】

Ai Min: ! ! !

Upon hearing his words, before the audiences at the scene are able to process it, his teammates in PG are already restlessly chucking themselves up close to the mic and yelling.

Luo Yiming: 【What?! Ye Zi, you’re retiring?!】

Han Leng: 【What beautiful bromance! Such a troublemaking Mid-Laner should have long since been replaced!】

In the collective gasps that sweep through the crowd, Ye Hong bites down the urge to sucker punch his teammates and hollers: 【Who’s retiring?! Normally, people would all think we’re forming a 2nd team ba! Why does it becoming “me retiring” when it comes to your lips?!】

Luo Yiming immediately droops with disappointment: 【What the heck. So you’re still playing ah.】

Han Leng sighs: 【Made me happy for nothing.】3

The audiences instantly explodes into laughter. Even the emcee can’t help grinning along.

Ai Min who had just been crying a second earlier now raises his hand to cover his eyes, beside himself with laughter.

The air of depression’s instantly swept away. Even DJss who’s on the losing side doesn’t retain the slightest bit of sadness from the results.

Ai Min’s teammates also pat him on the shoulders and back, cheering him on: 【Join them ba, Xiao Min! Give it your best!】

Just like that, in the live broadcast of the Elimination Round, PG, this team, openly recruits a talented e-sports player for themselves.

The audiences both in and out of the barrage are besides themselves with laughter:

【Who knew it’s possible to recruit on live?】

【PG are all such comedians ah!】

【Hahaha XD Is this team intending to kill me with laughter just so they can get my measely inheritance?】

【I’m looking more and more forward to the in-game recording!】

Unbeknownst to anyone, Zhis suddenly falls into deafening silence where MOMO’s sitting.

Kins, who is seated by his side, bumps shoulders with him and inquires softly: “What are you thinking?”

Only then does Zhis come back to himself but he replies with a similarly small voice: “If we can’t get into the Top 8 the next time, will our team also……”

Kins cuts him off: “Goldfish still owes you an autograph, doesn’t he?”

Zhis freezes: “Erm. Yeah.”

“Then when you’re asking for his autograph, you might as well ask for his contact ba.” Saying this, Kins smiles slightly, “Even if you’ve gotta throw a tantrum on the ground and sell your cuteness, you’ve got to shamelessly get it, alright?”7

Zhis: ? !

With PG’s match for that day concluded, they may choose to stay on site to watch the other matches or return to rest.

Being a generally more easy-going team, the five people do as what they each wish.

Qin Fei wants to sleep, so he returns. Seeing as if he’s going, Jing Yu also follows suit and leaves the competition venue.

Ye Hong stays back to sign an autograph for Amm, also dropping him some tips with regards to playing as a Mid-Laner.

Luo Yiming is simply restless so he decides to stay and watch the matches.

Han Leng can’t stop worrying about him, so he stays behind too to keep an eye on him.5

In the subsequent match that’s between PH and L.L, it is concluded with a 2 – 0 – PH wins 2 rounds consecutively and secure their victory, thus qualifying for the semi-finals.

Upon seeing this match, the members of PG who stayed behind are only left with one common thought:

Fucking damn it…… It’s another copycat team!

If you were to say DJss copied PG in terms of their game plays, PH takes on PG’s flair when fighting – the ferocity, the fast pace, that unstoppable and formidable strength!

Not to say that this is beyond comprehension. After all, Qing Zi and Xiao Wai happened to play much like PG back then, that’s why they tried adding them to the team. But who would have thought that after Qin Fei chased them off, they would go on to start a team of their own?

Ye Hong can’t help sucking on his tongue: “To be honest, it doesn’t feel good to be ripped off.”

Ai Min feels like he’s been shot an arrow: “……I’m sorry.”

Ye Hong ruffles his hair: “However, my style’s not something anyone can copy. You’re a wonder, for real.”

Ai Min instantly turns beet red: “Thank you, Ye Ge!”

Ye Hong: “Don’t worry about it. It’s been proven that copycats can’t outclass the original. In the next match, we’ll definitely win!”

Simultaneously at this moment in time, Luo Yiming and Han Leng are searching PH online. Upon seeing that this team’s full name is Play Happily, both of them deadpan.

Luo Yiming: “What the fuck?! We’re called Play Gaily but they’re called Play Happily? They all mean the same thing, alright?! Why don’t they just call themselves PG two?!”

Han Leng answers, grave as a funeral: “PG two’s already been defeated by us. This one is called PG three.”

“Yes, PG three!” Luo Yiming slaps his thigh in anger, “They’re too much! It’s bad enough to copy our style, they’re even copying our team’s name! Next time, just watch me press them onto the floor and pulverize them all!”

This time, Han Leng doesn’t entertain him with an answer. He lifts his head to look up at the Heavens. All he wants to know is after beating PH, PH’s Solo-Laner – that Qing Zi who had a list chucked full with criminal records – He won’t really bring his pals over to finish them off ba?
