Qin Fei remains seated in the living room’s sofa for a while before suddenly rising to head to the Training Room: “I’m going to take a look.”

Luo Yiming naturally knows what he’s going there to see. He hastily catches up: “I also want to look!”

Being a member of pg, towards the arrival of a new teammate, they’re always filled with plenty of curiosity and anticipation.

Han Leng doesn’t say a word, but he very honestly follows the two’s footsteps.

Hence, a beat later, the three people have squeezed their way into the unspacious Training Room.

Jing Yu and Ye Hong have tagged up in a match. They are just about 10 minutes into the game, and the second Demonic Disk has just been refreshed.

Ye Hong uses Nine-Tailed Demon Fox whereas Jing Yu uses Frozen Heart.

The two people have just finished clearing the enemy’s mid lane and are in the midst of rushing to the bottom lane.

Qin Fei stands behind Jing Yu, looking the current headcount: 12 : 2. Then, he glimpses Jing Yu’s battle record: 8 Kills, 0 Deaths, 4 Assists.

Following after, he glances at Ye Hong’s battle record: 4 Kills, 0 Deaths, 8 Assists.

“You guys… How many times have you ganked the mid-laner?” Luo Yiming is the one who asks this question. Clearly, he also received some insight about the game’s progression thus far from the pair’s records.

Their party has secured 12 kills in total, and every single head fell to Jing Yu and Ye Hong’s hands. You just need to think about it to know how many times these two must have co-oped*. The enemy mid-laner is probably in a mid-life crisis right about now.

(*co-op: cooperative gameplay)

As he expected, Ye Hong breezily replies with this line: “Not many ah. 10 times only. There’re still two other kills. They’re the enemy marksman and support.”

“Wah, you guys are too aggressive!” Han Leng gives the enemy mid-laner a moment of silence, “I highly suspect after this round, he’ll never dare to play mid-laner ever again.”

Ye Hong shrugs, declining to comment.

Qin Fei fixates on Jing Yu’s monitor in interest. Though he never said a word, his lips form a relishing arc.

On the screen, after Frozen Heart arrives at the Bottom Lane, he crouches down to first hide in a bush. In contrast, Nine-Tailed Demon Fox brazenly charges out to get between the foe’s Marksman and Support. One fox demon’s Rage explodes and throws the two enemies in two opposing directions.

Following that, Nine-Tailed Demon Fox directly Ults. Nine tails writhe madly as they lurch out to latch onto the enemy marksman’s wrist. Frozen Heart also forks out a single Flash to get to the enemy support, unleashing Frozen Blade to slash off one third of his blood.

Immediately after, with the aid of the allied Marksman, Nine-Tailed Demon Fox finishes off the enemy Marksman with one Fireball, simultaneously cutting off the Support’s escape route with a missed shot. Frozen Heart seizes the opportunity to kill the enemy Support with a series of AA*.

(*AA = Short for Auto-Attacks)

【System】Frozen Heart requests for an Assembly!

Jing Yu sends the request as he flanks Ye Hong’s Nine-Tailed Demon Fox and both take to the location of the Demonic Disk.

Other than the solo-laner, all allied demons gather up at the Demonic Disk’s location. Without interruption, they easily secure the Demonic Disk.

This series of operations, be it the timing or the coordination between them, every part was executed with flying colours. Especially Ye Hong. His expert demolishing of the enemy, as well as the sudden yet undeniably beneficial onslaught of Rage by his triple-ability demon. It causes Jing Yu to be dazzled for a long time.

Most players of Nine-Tailed Demon Fox will typically throw a few Fireballs from a distance, blowing up the enemy’s blood to pieces. Then, they gradually back off as they attack, slowly grinding the enemy into dust.

As for Rage, because this ability can blow up the enemy, it is typically left as a lifeline.

But what about Ye Hong? Directly charging in between the enemy’s marksman and support, using this ability to separate the two, then solo-ing the enemy marksman and ganks.

He is tactical and he has the guts. This person is really way too awe-inspiring.

In comparison, even though Jing Yu’s performance didn’t stand out anywhere, he also didn’t make any mistake. His performance can be considered average.

And yet, pg‘s members all express a different opinion:

Luo Yiming: “Ye Zi, you actually dare to use your best demon in Standard*. Do you have any shame left?”

(*Standard: Standard Mode of the game)

Ye Hong is split between tears and laughter: “Using the first lifeline* is only natural in Standard ah! Why can Jing Yu use it but I can’t?”

(*First lifeline: Recall players have got multiple demons they specialize in. The first lifeline is their go-to for victory)

Han Leng: “Still dare to use such a sāo** skin. Do you plan to seduce the enemy to lower their guard? You’re too nasty!”

(**骚 sāo: shameless, but also doubles as lewd)

Ye Hong humphs: “Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder! Lewd eyes see people as lewd!”

Qin Fei: “In the last tournament, your Nine-Tailed Demon Fox was kept on the ban list and never let down once. Can’t use, yet you’re still practicing. You really think you’ve got that much time?”

Ye Hong immediately backs off: “Fei Ge, I was wrong! I’ll never use it in my next life!”

“Pft…..”

Don’t need to guess. This snicker is made by Jing Yu. After he lets out that sound, he immediately feels the four people’s gazes land upon his frame individually. He lowers his head at once, gulping with a ‘Gudu‘ sound.

“Tch–” This time, Qin Fei can’t help but laugh. He pats Jing Yu on the shoulder, “Do your best this afternoon. If we can defeat Ane, then you sign the contract with pg ba.”

“Okay.” Jing Yu answers feebly. After a period of silence, he hesitantly speaks up, “Will I immediately enter the team as a member?”

“Yes. Is there a problem?”

“There’s none…” Jing Yu replies. It’s just, everything feels a little too good to be true.

Before he came to pg, he still thought pg was starting a second team and wanted him to be that team’s jungler. To be able to meet Qin Fei offline, he already feels blissful enough.

He didn’t expect for a moment that Qin Fei will tell him, so long as they beat Ane, they’ll immediately sign him as their member. In other words — so long as he signs the contract, he can brush shoulders with Qin Fei in a team!

This really feels very surreal ah…

While his heart’s shaken and discomforted, Jing Yu’s gameplay is still very stable.

Before 20 minutes has passed, even without taking down the Demonic Dragon, they have already toppled the enemy’s towers, successfully winning the match.

This match’s MVP was awarded to Ye Hong’s Nine-Tailed Demon Fox by the System, but Jing Yu’s Frozen Heart didn’t fall back by much, outranked by only 0.2 points.

“I want to tag-team with Jing Yu too!” The match just ended, but Luo Yiming can’t help clamouring, “Tag-team tag-team tag-team! Marksman and Jungler tag-team!”

“Why not a triple-team?” Han Leng proposes as he slips before the PC closest to the door. “Other supports won’t be able to guard a marksman as reckless as you.”

“You say that as if you’ve protected me before. Aren’t you always on the offense?”

“I’m using the support build* so I don’t need to guard you. It’s enough just to follow on your heels!”

(*build: For the same character, they’ve got different builds tailored for different positions. The AD build you saw in the summary is one of them.)

He’s playing with the Support build…… En?

This time, all four people’s gazes collectively land upon Han Leng.

Is he just going to forget how he played dirty last night by switching into AD build* and stealing Luo Yiming’s kills?

(*AD build is also short for ‘Attack Damage’ build. As you might expect, this is an attacker’s build.)

Han Leng clears his throat, using an awkward tune to sing: “Yesterday’s me, is no longer the me of today~”

No sooner had he spoken, before he even got the chance to log in, a pair of familiar footsteps can be heard from outside.

Within the training room, besides Jing Yu, everyone else startle.

It’s still Luo Yiming who speaks up first: “The Coach is back?”

“I guess so.” Ye Hong replies.

“Wait till later to enter the game. I’ll go out to take a look.” Saying this, Qin Fei leaves the training room for the living room.

He doesn’t notice that the moment he left, Jing Yu secretly lets out a sigh of relief.

Unexpectedly, Luo Yiming, who had his eyes on him all this time, seems to have immediately discovered something. He smiles indecipherably: “You like Fei Ge?”

Jing Yu doesn’t even think before nodding: “En.”

“What kind of ‘like’ is that?”

“Ah?”

“Fei Ge, your hubby?” Luo Yiming’s grin turns mischievous.

Upon hearing this, Jing Yu turns beet red instantly, lowering his head in distress. He wants nothing more than to find a hole to crawl into.

Truthfully speaking, after seeing that Ye Hong’s side account id is jkll, he already guessed the identity of those on the four-person taxi**.

(**four-person taxi 四黑车: a group of players who know each other and agreed to enter the game together.)

That asdf, he can’t really be Qin Fei ba?

He couldn’t have…… right before Qin Fei’s face, said the words “Fei Ge My Hubby!” ba?

Jing Yu wants to explain himself, yet he’s browbeaten by this fact, unable to speak up for half a day.

Thankfully, Luo Yiming only wanted to tease him. He doesn’t really care much about this matter at all: “You still scared me to death, you know that? Seeing Fei Ge’s asdf chatroom early in the morning, I still thought you are a girl. If you really moved over with us, how inconvenient would that be?”

“Huan? I still thought you really wanted Jing Yu to be a sista ne?” Han Leng is astonished. “Still dare to bet 5 bags of la tiao with me.”

“This and that are two separate matters, okay?” Luo Yiming shoots Han Leng a grudgeful look. “I think he’s a sista, and I wish he’s not a sista — They don’t overlap at all ah!”

“So when do you intend to give me my 5 bags of la tiao?”

Hearing this, Jing Yu can’t help wanting to laugh again. All distress from just now is swept aside in an instant.

The atmosphere here is quite good.

At this moment, Qin Fei has already plopped himself down upon the living room’s sofa. Not long after, a person pushes pg‘s door open and walks in. He is exactly Fang Luofan — pg‘s Coach.

He looks a bit exhausted, wordlessly walking over to sink into the seat beside Qin Fei, letting out a long sigh. Then, he notices the tabletop’s…… cake?

Fang Luofan pauses for a moment, belatedly asking: “Is it somebody’s birthday today?”
