Kazuya's Past
Kazuya continued his story.
"When I grew up, I fell in love with Marie-sama. It broke my heart to see her being so close to her caretakers, and I felt as if my heart would burst. One day, wild thieves came to the village and attacked the villagers, killing them and taking away their food reserves. I, too, was attacked and went to Marie, covered in wounds. The people who were serving at her side were strong and they kicked the thieves out of the village.
"Marie-sama, please run away. Run away."
When I said that, they let me into the house. When Marie-sama saw me, she said.
“Kazu. You are badly injured. You will die at this rate. I love you and I don't want you to die. I am a vampire. Kazu. Be mine. Will you stay with me?"
My heart trembled with joy.
"With pleasure! Let me be by your side!”
"And so I became Marie-sama's dependent.”
Yuki listened to the story with great interest. Kazuya was moved to tears as he recalled his past. It is a common story as a household member, but he’s a certain initiate believer among the household members. Marie was very affectionate toward her dependents and protected them with her power. I was also loved by her, so I can understand how he felt. On the other hand, my father was a laissez-faire (free spirited) man. After my mother Marie passed away, he said he was going on a trip with some of his household members and I haven't seen him for hundreds of years.
“Kazuya, are you satisfied? By the way, Yuki? Why are you crying?”
"Because..."
She wiped her tears with a handkerchief and said.
“I wish I could have met her. Marc's mother."
“My mother was a very loving person. I think she was one of the most beloved among the ancestors. She was kind to us, her children too."
Yuki's expression changed. Hm?
"Marc has siblings!"
“Of course I do.”
Yuki's face inched closer.
“I want to know!”
“It's not something I want to talk about here... I'll tell you when I get home. Have fun in the karaoke. Your singing is beautiful. Let me hear more."

I asked Leonardo,
"Do you know when the hunters are coming to Japan?”
"I think they are preparing for something. They are not only looking for vampires, but also for us.”
