Chapter 378

As if things weren’t already eye-opening enough for the Moons, ImpulseWorks carried a dark secret that the triplets viewed as unforgivable. Whilst they fought against the world’s sworn enemies – the Corrupted – ImpulseWorks cozied up with them. They fed them. Nurtured them. Hell, even housed them when Moons were treated as no more than disposable pawns.

This would undoubtedly hammer the final nail into getting the Moons onto her side. However, this also came at a risk. Would the Moons harbor an inconsolable hatred against the Ateliers when the effects of Serum G subsided?

Time Reverberation… Jury and I made it a priority to help people psychologically. We’ll be looking after the Moons closely. She has a Skill that will let people delve into the source of people’s Nex.

“Ergo, their trauma. The source of their disturbance, and the force that spawns the Corrupted. Getting rid of both will be like shooting two birds with one stone! Or… shooting 55 big stones with one bird?”

Glad you can still make puns.

“I guess that makes me very… punny.”

… Please Nav.

“Oh. That’s right. You’re still in the Council.” Nav feigned ignorance.

Frost welcomed her humor and formed a small smile in response. Something about her monotone voice made her cute and ramped up the hilarity of her puns in a strange way. That being said, it was now Enoch’s turn to speak – a T-4 Artificer of the likes of Kissaria.

She wondered how much of this she should be hearing, but the fact that she could represent a Beholder likely meant that she was already aware of this. Not to mention that she seemed to know the Arbiter personally.

She had an air of mystique and was a human as far as Frost could tell.

Status.

Impulse Artificer
Enoch

< Tempered Aspirator | 0 >

Soul Rank: White | Atelier: ImpulseWorks

LEVEL : 130 ORIGIN : Human

HP : 2,200

ATT : 2,000 MAG ATT : 1,500
ATT DEF : 1,200 MAG DEF : 1,000

MP : 18,000

RESIST : ??? AGI : 40

Enoch had absurdly high skills for someone that was both unarmed and just a human. Her ATT rivalled even Moons, which was balanced by her pitiful HP.

A single breath sent her way would cause her to keel over, but in the mortal realms beneath the Nexus she could easily be considered by most as a human who walked amongst Gods. She was at the pinnacle of human strength even though her body had nothing to show for this aside for her unfazed eyes that had seen too much.

She was close to the level of the Colors.

It put into perspective just how much of an anomaly the Colors were. But if Frost didn’t know any better, then she’d believe that the Colors were the only non-Blessed anomalies out there.

She didn’t know she was staring at yet another one as the Arbiter brought a wing to touch Frost’s back as she spoke on behalf of Enoch.

“A non-Blessed speaks. I do not need to remind all members and spectators that their opinions are as valuable as ours." The Arbiter warned, sounding like she had mentioned this numerous times over the last Councils.

The air suddenly became thick with displeasure.

Frost’s brows furrowed.

Huh!? Wait, she’s not a Blessed? With THOSE stats!?

“Something beyond our knowledge must be at play. T-4 Artificers work closely with the Corrupted more than anyone else, aside from ImpulseWork’s Workers. I deduce the reason is linked either with the Corrupted or the Abyssal Mother.”

I’m thinking it might be with how casual she acts in the presence of the Arbiter. Frost thought differently seeing that her RESIST stat was immeasurable.

Was she really human?

“Enoch, the Artificer of Rupturing. Tempered Four Artificer of ImpulseWorks. Glad you all appear so willing to let me speak on behalf of the Abyssal Mother here in the seat of a God. Yes…” She deeply inhaled.

Whether it was the scent of the Council itself or the displeasure which made her grin was unknown.

“… ImpulseWorks. Aha. As many of you are already aware, we are a weapons manufacturer. Specialized items come straight from us, only after thorough testing from yours truly. If they rupture, then they don’t pass the test. Such is the hard work of a Tempered Artificer. It’s an honor of mine being here in the presence of you, the Amalgam. And… a very, very interesting face. Hello~” Enoch politely smiled over at Jury.

She spoke with swagger and an unnatural calmness, as though this were her home, much to the annoyance Beholder Knalzark, whose fists carried a sudden black orb of destruction.

“Have you no shame –!?”

Before he could even finish, the Arbiter’s wing intervened. When Frost saw him attempt an attack on Enoch – albeit one to frighten her – she was not able to predict the Arbiter’s near instantaneous intervention.

So she can also see seconds ahead, huh. As if she wasn’t already powerful enough.

“You will conduct yourself accordingly.” The Arbiter firmly warned.

“For this thing to speak!? Amongst us!?” Knalzark growled dangerously, right before Frost suddenly shouted, demanding this immediate silence.

“Do not forget that you are in my presence! I’d appreciate it if you kept your differences aside on neutral grounds. It’s enough that you’ve collected enough grievances where I could just eject you all from the Nexus. Don’t make it harder on yourselves. Don’t make this choice so obvious! I will not tolerate a second offence.” One could see a blazing aura engulf her, and Knalzark instantly kept his mouth shut knowing well of the power of Frost’s flames.

Knalzark had a hot head, but even he was not stupid enough to contest Frost’s command. She figured not yet at least. After the introductions were done, that was when the real battle would start.

She then ordered:

“Enoch. Please continue. Introduce ImpulseWorks. Confess the truth. You know exactly what I am referring to, and not the ‘weapon manufacturer’ front you’ve been using to keep your secrets away from not only Moons, but I believe everyone aside from your personnel, and the Beholders present.”
