“Alright, everyone! Please line up here if you’re joining the estimated ‘Togorudo Command’ extermination team! We’re leaving in 10 minutes!”

Pirritza, the receptionist at the Adventurers’ Guild Yoshanka branch, internally fuming, raised her rarely heard loud voice, trying to organize the rowdy adventurers into a line.

A special red Togorudo, believed to be commanding the Togorudos, had appeared. Currently, a silver-haired young adventurer was single-handedly holding them off.

This information, brought by a Level 54 adventurer, sent shockwaves through the Yoshanka branch! The red Togorudo, known for its command abilities, was a “Togorudo Command,” an entity that needed immediate extermination upon sighting. The silver-haired adventurer’s life was at risk, and the possibility of damage to Yoshanka was high. An extermination team needed to be formed immediately.

“A red Togorudo… Togorudo Command, was it?”
“Heh heh! Taking that down will surely boost our reputation!”
“…………”

Some adventurers were calmly preparing, others were excitedly boosting their morale, and some were trembling in anticipation. The response of adventurers to such an urgent extermination request was varied, but they all shared the eagerness for a battle with a formidable unseen enemy. The lobby of the Yoshanka branch was filled with an unusual fervor and excitement.

Meanwhile, Pirritza was feeling quite the opposite.

(Now I’m definitely going to work overtime tonight! Ah, such a hassle!!)

This emergency extermination request was issued by the “Adventurers’ Guild Yoshanka Branch” itself. When there’s a public welfare emergency, the Guild takes on the role of the client, and all payouts to adventurers come from Guild funds. With so many adventurers mobilized for a large-scale extermination request, the administrative paperwork would be tremendously cumbersome. Who contributed how much and in what way? How to fairly evaluate and distribute appropriate rewards and contribution points without causing dissatisfaction among the adventurers? For administrative staff like Pirritza, endless hellish tasks awaited. The Yoshanka branch, a small outpost operated by only three staff members, was now overwhelmed by a crowd far exceeding its capacity. With the branch manager away, Pirritza and her colleague had to handle these hellish tasks while managing regular operations. Even for a seasoned receptionist like Pirritza, this was too much.

However, considering the potential damage to Yoshanka town if the Togorudo Command was left unchecked, there was no room for complaints. At this point, there had been almost no damage reported, except for a few injured adventurers, none of whom were Pirritza. Humans don’t perceive a crisis as a crisis unless it affects them directly.

Anyway, despite her internal grumblings, she was a professional. Pirritza continued to deal with the adventurers without showing her annoyance.

(Ah, so irritating!!)

She kept her rising temper in check by mentally counting stacks of money, focusing on her work. Today, that cursed child would surely bring more Saiyush grass, adding to the pile of money in her room. Happiness!

…And then, at that moment:

“Excuse me! Let me through!”

A young voice echoed through the crowded lobby. The noise inside the room gradually subsided, starting from the entrance where the voice originated, and everyone turned to look.

And they were astonished.

There stood the silver-haired young adventurer, Kamasse. Despite his youth, his combat skills and knowledge were outstanding. He was well-known among adventurers at the Yoshanka branch. He was supposed to be the bait, holding off Togorudo Command.

“You’re safe?!”

A Level 54 adventurer whom Kamasse had saved pushed through the crowd.

“Of course! And look at this!”

Kamasse, full of energy, raised something huge above his head. It was a head. The red fur, much larger than usual, unmistakably belonged to a Togorudo. In other words…

“Sorry to gather you all, but as you can see, we’ve already exterminated the Togorudo Command! The crisis in Yoshanka is over!!”

A moment of silence enveloped the room.

“Wow… Wowwwww!!”

Then, it erupted into cheers.

“Seriously?!”
“Damn, we missed our chance to shine!”
“Typical of the prodigy! No false praise there!”
“Kamasse! Kamasse!”
“Kamasse! Kamasse! Kamasse!”

Surprise, envy, admiration, and cheers for Kamasse filled the room.

“Wait, wait, wait! Calm down, everyone!”

Kamasse hurriedly quieted the adventurers.

“Don’t get it wrong! I wasn’t the main force in the extermination! I just supported… Hey, you! Stop hiding! Come out here!”

While saying this, he grabbed the arm of a girl who had quietly stood behind him and

pulled her to the front.

The room went silent again, but this time, the atmosphere was different. The adventurers’ discomfort and aversion were apparent. The girl Kamasse had pushed forward had black hair and black eyes – the cursed child often seen in Yoshanka.

Seeing the adventurers’ reactions, Kamasse frowned in dissatisfaction.

“Hey! What’s with that reaction? Sure, she’s a cursed child, and I understand your initial reactions; I was the same. But listen! She’s amazing!”

Kamasse knew full well how much a cursed child was shunned. That’s precisely why he had dragged the reluctant Emi here. He wanted to announce her achievements and abilities, to improve her standing in Yoshanka. His main goal in bringing Emi to report the extermination was to have the adventurers acknowledge her. And to ensure she wasn’t treated unfairly. This was his way of repaying Emi.

“Listen up! She’s incredibly strong! This Togorudo Command was practically taken down by her alone!”

Impossible! Such a young girl? And a cursed child?!

The room buzzed with unrest.

Sensing the atmosphere settling, Kamasse continued with a smirk.

“Remember this, everyone! She’s the savior of this town! The ‘Future Great Hero’! Her name is…!”

Bang!!

However, his speech was cut short by a group barging into the guild.

“There she is! The cursed child!”

Leading the group were prominent figures of Yoshanka’s commerce association: Bacchero, the “Togorudo Skewer” stall owner; Johanna, the innkeeper of “Seabreeze Inn”; and Granny Kansen, the owner of “Kansen’s General Store.”

“It’s time for you to pay your dues! Prepare yourself!”

Leading them with bravado was the young guard Yoza!
